*No Tl;dr versions*
Well, basically, when I was think-tanking this, a lot of ideas came out, so it turned into a fusion of Altered Melee/Multi-Race/Risk.
I was mainly going to do a part-by-part, map series, with the clans, but I also found the idea to make the WHOLE map of Draenor, and then include all the races in it.
I did actually have the "Age of Empires" style in mind, so I guess, I will go that way.
I'm having a more-research based techtree, in which, for example, the Tier 3's will need a few certain researches to be spawned.
For example, Frostwolves will have to research "Hunting Lodge" and "Wolf Taming" before they can summon their T3, the Hunting Party. (This is just a rough example)
I do however, think that Heroes would stay, firstly cause, I spent a large portion of time getting all those models
-- And also because, I think it may make it a bit confusing (imo)
I like the ideas you've presented, and I did take inspiration from your Troll Techtree aswell, a bit. Like with the Bleeding Hollow Clan, they're more primitive and wild, so I gave their grunt's an ability to disguise as bushes/plants (somewhat like, what you did with the Troll Ambushers who hide in trees).
The Warsong, I'm kinda curious about, since they don't have anything unique, more than the fact that they use battle-cries and "war-songs" (-_-), alot. So their units will mostly be War-Drummers and etc.
With the Shattered Hand, I've given them a multi-thematic techtree. I figured,"Hey, they defeated the Gorians in their home, and then became masters, they must've taken Ogre Slaves?" And so, they have these :- Sadism/(Ogre) Slavery/Mutilation/Hand-shattery
So it's mostly gladiatorial units with a mix of enslaved Ogres and etc.
Blackrocks will be, almost everything of what you said, heavy blacksmiths and other stuff. They have so much confusing lore, mixed up, I can't comprehend the correct one to use.
Frostwolf, is almost complete. I'm basically using the techtree, that is being used in Rise of the Horde, so I don't have to make too many changes. They are going to have a few unique mechanics though, you'll see..
Twilight's Hammer was just a minority in the Shadow Council, before they entered Azeroth and became masters of evil, so I'll make them in Azeroth instead of Draenor, as I feel, they feel more "at-home" in Azeroth than in Draenor.
Dragonmaw Clan* was a bit less canon during the pre-First War/Dark Portal era, so they're going to be a "Mercenary Camp/Tavern Hero" clan, the same goes for the Burning Blade.
I'm still at work with the wild and guerilla warfare-using Bleeding Hollow and the mystical and magical
P) Shadowmoon Clan, so if you have any more things you want to give ideas on, be free to do so
* I don't really see how Dragonmaw can be an elder clan on Draenor, since there WERE NOT any dragons in Draenor/Outland until Neltharion came in after/during the Second War. So, that's a major fuck-up in Blizzard's hands
Unless they counted Rylaks as dragons which was :-
A) Stupid, since they Aren't dragons
B) Yet another major fuck-up by Blizzard
