• But other contests don't do that. I just thought it should be in line.
Shouldn't the rep for the top 3 should be straight, not +5'd (double-checked other contests, and the original contest thread)? (HC7)
Thanks.
It's just like me but playing smash or on my PC and not with that much attitude lolz.
Also Rainbow Dash is best pony.

I like yours to.
I enjoy using Dark Templars with some sweet cheese and if it doesn't totally break them I'll resort to Archons with a bunch of speedy boosted zealots and maybe some stalkers.
It's a great stratigy and beeing cheesy is fun. xD
Happy New Year! :p

P.S. You've forgotten to give bonus to judges for the contest.
Hey, Kyrbi0... I just thought of something. You're excellent with unit and techtree design, and presumably balance. And you're also a good coder(I... think? don't really know much about coding.).

Would you perhaps be interested in collaborating on an old project of mine and a couple of friends sometime in the future?
Hey I noticed the scores for HC7 were up. Were my scores counted in the final ranking?
Yeah :( can't do much modeling For a while, Real Tired :( will continue to do it once I get well... :)
I'm afraid I won't be home until the 3rd and I have no other way to get it to you. I will send it as soon as I get home.
I did post it in this thread: Unofficial custom UIs for Wc3 - Page 7. I think people should be able to find it there, among other amazing UIs :) But thanks for the tip, I will create a thread for it, just in case ;)
Also, Im Extemely Bad at designing armour (Without Guide/Reference) With Reference, I can do it xd
It's Just a Experiment Make, Not Real thing yet..
Just some, I open Blender, Simply do a Experiment Raptor In My Mind to guide me In Future, Im lack of Internet when doing this, so i have no reference xd

I will Remake it Btw, It's a "Eh.. I just Simply Make this" Experiment Model

and now with more Reference you just gave me, I can do Better xd
Sure :)

Although, fladdermasken is kind of the Arena responsible moderator, so I guess it would
be better if you talked to him the next time.
Well of course we all agree about the importance of greed for goblins and tech and alchemy aspects. But as you have also noticed we neglect their creative side as sometimes they make stuff just for sake of making (blowing) stuff up. I just find that boom is not suitable for sub-faction aspect as you can't have boom without tech or alchemy. Mercenary while is probably less attractive idea is better at being different from tech and alchemy and can be separated from them while still being faithful to greed aspect but less to the inventing aspect.

Trolls at the moment I would separate between warrior and spiritual aspect. Warrior could be separated between brute and cunning, while spiritual can be shamanistic and voodoo/loa.
I have almost forgotten about it. Anyway thank you for sharing.

Mercenary work has a proud and long history and it is about greed as much as any other job is and honestly you can easily say that alchemy is greed too since it is about selling the products and same for tech. And anyway instead of greed wouldn't mercantilism fit better as term. And yes most do focus only on mechanical/sci fi part of the goblin lore, same as trolls are only voodoo.
The Angkylosaurus just showing you, because it seems that you need some lizard model
Hello this week i have free time to work in the model, what do you think about the idea of the turtle shell in the lizard?
My apologies. I was about to submit it, but midway I was interrupted and closed my browser, losing all progress. After that I had to leave for a week and I didn't want to start the contest while I'm not here, in case people have questions etc. I'll have it set up today, probably, or at worst tomorrow.
.. this antiokh guy should at least have poked me that he's editing something.. .u.
didn't do anything but remove the links tho, no worries
Awexome. The head looks much better (at least from the top).

For the back, I'm thinkin' that the turtle shell is a bit too far... But those plates/spikes (on the shell) look almost perfect for what I was going for... Would you be able to "strip out" the layer of spikes on the shell? Maybe take those off, then widen them & stick them on the back?

Also, don't forget the double leg-armor pieces.

(Thanks for testing it in-game; I usually forget to do that, but it's supremely important; the coolest-looking model in Magos may be a piece of garbage in-game. xD)
Ok yesterday i tested the model ingame and found that the actual plates looks ugly ingame <x<.

The head is wider and shorter, about the armor, a option is use geoset color to make them brownish.

About the Turtle shell is a crazy idea, for this i have two ideas make a sash like the one in the orc campaing and make it obviously artificial.

Or move the mesh and make it look more natural, like a breeding experiment beetween a snap dragon and a turtle xD

The Bleeding Hollow are basically the primitive and savage Orc clan, with their insane cannibalistic nature and etc, so that's that...
Hey was wondering if it isn't to much trouble but could I see your work thus far with the goblins? I am really curious even if they are barely finished.
Thanks.
It means a lot, coming from you :)

I'm quite enthusiastic about implementing this whole thing, and any GOOD ideas are always welcome (Your ideas are always good, but overlookers and some certain stalkers will still try to push their bullshit on my project, so I had to put it there..)

So to summarize my pre-Alpha plans :-

Warsong - Strength in Individuals, Pure Strength in Unity.

Frostwolf - Wisdom and Ancestry

Bleeding Hollow - Blood before all

Shadowmoon - Time is Mana

Blackrock - Let's smith some sh*t!

Shattered Hand - Sadism! Masochism! Slavery! Lok'tar Ogar! Ouch!
*No Tl;dr versions*

Well, basically, when I was think-tanking this, a lot of ideas came out, so it turned into a fusion of Altered Melee/Multi-Race/Risk.

I was mainly going to do a part-by-part, map series, with the clans, but I also found the idea to make the WHOLE map of Draenor, and then include all the races in it.

I did actually have the "Age of Empires" style in mind, so I guess, I will go that way.
I'm having a more-research based techtree, in which, for example, the Tier 3's will need a few certain researches to be spawned.
For example, Frostwolves will have to research "Hunting Lodge" and "Wolf Taming" before they can summon their T3, the Hunting Party. (This is just a rough example)
I do however, think that Heroes would stay, firstly cause, I spent a large portion of time getting all those models :p -- And also because, I think it may make it a bit confusing (imo)

I like the ideas you've presented, and I did take inspiration from your Troll Techtree aswell, a bit. Like with the Bleeding Hollow Clan, they're more primitive and wild, so I gave their grunt's an ability to disguise as bushes/plants (somewhat like, what you did with the Troll Ambushers who hide in trees).
The Warsong, I'm kinda curious about, since they don't have anything unique, more than the fact that they use battle-cries and "war-songs" (-_-), alot. So their units will mostly be War-Drummers and etc.
With the Shattered Hand, I've given them a multi-thematic techtree. I figured,"Hey, they defeated the Gorians in their home, and then became masters, they must've taken Ogre Slaves?" And so, they have these :- Sadism/(Ogre) Slavery/Mutilation/Hand-shattery
So it's mostly gladiatorial units with a mix of enslaved Ogres and etc.
Blackrocks will be, almost everything of what you said, heavy blacksmiths and other stuff. They have so much confusing lore, mixed up, I can't comprehend the correct one to use.
Frostwolf, is almost complete. I'm basically using the techtree, that is being used in Rise of the Horde, so I don't have to make too many changes. They are going to have a few unique mechanics though, you'll see..
Twilight's Hammer was just a minority in the Shadow Council, before they entered Azeroth and became masters of evil, so I'll make them in Azeroth instead of Draenor, as I feel, they feel more "at-home" in Azeroth than in Draenor.
Dragonmaw Clan* was a bit less canon during the pre-First War/Dark Portal era, so they're going to be a "Mercenary Camp/Tavern Hero" clan, the same goes for the Burning Blade.
I'm still at work with the wild and guerilla warfare-using Bleeding Hollow and the mystical and magical :)P) Shadowmoon Clan, so if you have any more things you want to give ideas on, be free to do so :)

* I don't really see how Dragonmaw can be an elder clan on Draenor, since there WERE NOT any dragons in Draenor/Outland until Neltharion came in after/during the Second War. So, that's a major fuck-up in Blizzard's hands :p
Unless they counted Rylaks as dragons which was :-
A) Stupid, since they Aren't dragons :ogre_icwydt:
B) Yet another major fuck-up by Blizzard :p
Well, you'll probably find a project thread called Lords of War, by me, in a couple of days, so you'll get it a bit more then.
But as of now, I kinda need ideas for Units for the Warsong, Shattered Hand, Blackrock and Shadowmoon Clans.. Just pitch me any ideas or thoughts you may have, I'm eager to see what you may come up with.. ;3
You don't come to the THW Chat that often, do ye?
I know you have an amazing knowledge of Trolls, (You are, technically, my Idol in Custom Race makin ;3) but do you think you could advise me with ideas of Orc Clan Techtrees?
I actually haven't made an account yet...
I was thinking of making it the other day, when I stumbled upon your account :p
So I was just dilly-dallying in the scrollsoflore website, and found You...

Ello, Triumvirate ;3
Check the latest addition to my Gallery, the Templar Black Dragon. Long, irritating day, plus all the non-stop work I did on the model.

I don't even WANT to test it in the World Editor right now. Too grumpy and tired for that shit.
Didn't want to turn thread in to goblin discussion so I migrated here.:goblin_yeah:

Yes I agree greed is the prime pedestal of the goblin society from which it influences everything else. But I still don't see "boom" as equal aspect as are alchemy and mech, more like a frequent thing seen in both alchemy and mech aspects. Though when I said slavery I was thinking more actually mercenary business, makes sense that goblins would never put themselves in danger when they can get someone else to die for them. To be honest slavery only as far as I know appears in WoW when goblins are smuggling goblin slaves and get sunk by human warships who mistake them for the Horde and I don't understand why are goblin slaves profitable idea since goblins aren't exactly great for manual labor. Then again wow contradicts me by saying that goblins were originally simple minded slaves for trolls (not really a big fan of wow).

Boom

Oh and no particular reason for exactly 3 aspects (think I was even stretching my point to much when trying to fit undead with 3 since only really nerubians stand out), you could probably think of something more but "boom" to me seems too generic and part of 2 aspects already. Always though boom was more of goblin fetish.
Not my thing, but sure. Atleast it isn't that, uh... crap.

Animus and mangos or something, right?

Anyway, I can send you the rough version of the Dragon, if you wanna see the animations.
Oi.

You gotta check my Gallery. I just finished animating my Templar Dragon model. I'm thinking of using geoset recoloring to recreate bronze, red and black dragons.
What do you mean by branching out?
Nope, perhaps the unused ones for the races.
Yes
Addition

Theme and Role is up to you, for full creative freedom.
But if Malfurion were to turn into a tree, wouldn't that share an amost identical model with the Archdruid?

Just a thought, how about merge the Archdruid with it? Then mushrooms will shoot teal bolts haha
