• Oh my gosh, I'm so dumb... It's been right there. Big, blazing check-boxes.

Woah, that is seriously awexome. That right there already makes this better than Magos (at least in this). You can selectively see the various geosets; no more messing up & selecting a bunch at once. Crazy-cool, thanks. : )
----------
you will just move all mdlvis files in the folder where you have W3 installed so it can acces all the ingame textures.
----------
Ah yes. I did the same with Magos & it works great (can't do it here, obviously).

----------
Wrap is kinda easy, you just select the part of the mesh you want to wrap and then you press F2 button end you are in wrapping section.
----------
Yeah, the hotkeys are nice (& just when I was getting frustrated, trying to find out how to switch back & forth between "move" and "rotate", I found out that clicking the mouse-wheel does it. Sah-weet!)

That's cool, but like I said, I can only interact with (moving vertices, rewrapping, etc) one little geoset (the one with the frills around the mouth & legs). How do I gain access to all the other polies (geosets/meshes)?

----------
One rule in mdlvis - make copies of your model you are working on. Mdlvis is fine, easy tool once you learn with it, but it has some bugs, so it can ruin your model. I learned the hard way - on the russian version, not knowing any word or alphabet. So right now I could work on mdlvis with eyes closed, knowing exactly where are the bugs or flaws. Keep diggina nd you will learn that mdlvis is really fine tool.
----------
Sure thing. Thanks for bringing the Hive version to my attention; I'll have to give it some more practice. I've grown quite used to working in Magos here & there, and it's pretty great... But it can't do everything (most importantly, UV Wrapping & animations). Gratzi. : )
Lol... Right after posting, I went ahead & checked the Hive's tool section, found the MDLvis they have, and downloaded it for kicks (I'm on a school computer, rather than my home computer, so I can't really do much, just figured I'd mess around)...

And after opening it up, it's all (mostly) in English. Lol. I was about to Edit my post but you got there before me. xD

(what's "Aéa"? I mean, the rest of the options inside it make sense, but I'm just curious)

Alright, well that makes some things easier... So I'll have to poke around with that a bit more when I get home tonight (can't believe I left my flash drive... All my War3 files & textures & such...). But in the mean-time, any tips/tricks that have helped you learn UV Wrapping? (does one really have to upload a .jpg version of a texture in order to know where to move the polies? etc)

//EDIT//

One thing I can't figure out is how to access the other geosets. I can only select/mess with the frills on his neck & legs. Thoughts?
Really? Dang. (Pics nao? :p)

Well, I've heard people talk about using MDLvis (not just for changing textures, but for UVWrapping (which I'm still trying to figure out). However, couple of problems with that; I can only find a Russian version, which is basically impossible to make sense of (all dat Cyrllic, yo; hard for us Americanos to figure out xD). I remember once having an English-translated version... But I cannot find it, and I remember it had serious bugs.

Thoughts? I wouldn't mind learning how to use MDLvis better...
Well, I opened it up in Magos, Ctrl+Leftclicked to select the proper Geoset (tried doing the wings first, but it & the body share the same Material Layer), which also selected the proper Material Layer assigned to that Geoset... Then I opened it up & changed the Texture to "Units/Creeps/ThunderLizard/ThunderLizard.blp" (or whatever it really is; I had already opened the MPQ Browser, found it, & done "Use as Texture").

That's it. And usually, it totally messes up how a model looks like; the UV Wrapping looks butchered when you change it. Except when the textures are the same; the polies of the wrap are in the same place, so usually switching something like that (colors, esp. when a modeler uses the Dragons' or the Turtles' or Gnolls' or Trolls' texture) works just fine. I can't yet figure out how to move the polies of a UVWrap, so that's all I can do (is swap them).

Anyway, somehow it didn't work. It was like it changed how the wrap was on the texture.

(also, I don't play WoW, but I'm looking into a green, grounded "Swamp Drake" for the Trolls... and a quick Google search brought me this, so meh? : )...)

Thanks for responding so quickly.
Here is what he answered me: Darkfang

Sorry, it is nota model but a sketch made by photoedition (CnP).. ask some modeler to make it real... people kept thinking it was a real model e.e R
Hey there. Schweet Proto Drake Rider model you got there. I plan on commenting later on when I have time... But I had a quick question in the mean-time.

I thought it would look super-cool in green, and when I realized it was simply the Salamander, I thought "man, just replace it with the Thunder Lizard texture!" Sure enough, they are identical (except for color)... But when I change the Material Layer it messes up big-time. The plates are all green, it's all mottled & stretched... I've never seen this happen before. Do you know what it could be?
Yeah, I repped him too :p You both did an amazing job :D

The Gronn is almost done. The contrast on his torso was slightly lacking compared to other warcraft units, so I increased that a lot. Also, I've added a skull to his belt, and I'm now working on some bones/teeth to go along it. Still missing the tattoos though.
Hey man, I saw that you had the same problem with nothing happening after clicking import in Reteras Matrix Eater. I'm pretty sure though that i have the latest java version. Which one are you using exactly?

Edit: nevermind, got it working :)
Interesting... I'm not sure. The latest MatrixEater I believe should include a "MatrixEater3DDebugger" program, if not I could send you a copy.

If you use this Debugger version of the program, and click import where nothing happens, check to see if any text or error messages appear in the black box with white text. If they do, please send them to me, as this could greatly clue me into what's wrong.
Well, for our prom something, I think it's waltz or something but nah. And okay, good luck to your works :)
Too tired for 6 hours of dance practice...feeling comfy right now though. Working on any models right now?
That profile picture...and avatar, looks so bad-ass I love that profile picture so much. How are you By the way?
