    the item will be dropped

so all below level 10 you can equip

Oh you dont know how much this will help me actually man! I'm gonna take c++ lessons this semester so i'll have headstart to that lesson i'm going to watch every one of them thank you so much :D

Hehe I didn't see this post before because you posted it on your own profile page. =)

That's great to hear, I really hope it's pedagogically sound and working for you as it was for me. Good luck with C++ then. =)

I've read the books C++ Primer Fifth Edition by Stanley B. Lippman, Josée Lajoie and Barbara E. Moo and Effective C++ Third Edition by Scott Meyers and I strongly reccomend both of them (probably all of Meyers' books in that series are worth reading, I just happen to have this one).

Thanks! I haven't seen your suggestion earlier either, I'ma store that for later! (=

Depending on how much C++ you know you might be interested in this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4RqHtEAAds&list=TLJ08RKwmaxHkWqsHNkKz8TmINnmpOdE9fIt's a great introduction to C++ game programming for anyone that has the basics of C++ already. As I said I don't know where your expertise lies so maybe you already make games with C++ and this is irrelevant to you. It's just how I started out and it was a very helpful starting point to me.

Anyway, that's enough link throwing from my side for now. Have a great time!

I totally agree on this one. They just give you tons of things and do this do that and in the midterm if you don't do this like this you'll fail this test and some other shitty things :D
    ----------
Yeah focus is pushed to make things as arbitrary as possible even though most of the time they wouldn't have to be.

    ----------
I've started war3 map making a year ago or something I'm trying to make a good map (a frp map) which i think it is more different than other maps. But I actually lack the knowledge to make it playable with having fun. So I'm trying to learn much of everything before I move on to that map again :D
    ----------
Okay, yeah cool so you wanted to implement your vision and now you're striving towards getting knowledge that could practically help you in that. That's what the focus of programming should be I think, rather than something arbitrary and merely theoretical.

    ----------
    What about you? :D
    ----------
I was very into WarCraft III when it came out and thought it would be great to make my own stuff. It has been sort of a hobby since then I guess. =)

By the way, here are some really good talks from indie game developers. I suggest them to anyone interested in game development and especially people in college studying computer science. You've probably already come across them based on your background, but whatever, worth it to mention just in case you haven't ^^ :

we got our own levels of knowledge and these things are hard for me, at least for now :D
    ----------
Yeah, that's totally true. We all have our different areas where we're experienced and then there's other areas where we're more or less green.

Haha, as a matter of fact, I myself was in college studying computer science for two years. I took a break but I'm actually going back to it soon. =)

For me personally I feel very starved of practical experience in college. We get all this theory and it's a very theory-focused atmosphere. We sort of understand advanced concepts and topics, but that still doesn't help the fact that we lack quantity in practically experiencing in a meaningful way. This is sort of the point of college, right? To get the theory. I mean to put no judgement in this, it's just my personal observations. ^^,

Just out of curiousity because it's fun to meet a fellow computer science student; what made you take a closer look at WarCraft III map making? Are you going to make some kind of student project or was it just because you wanted to do it on your spare time or whatever?

    wow nice explanation thanks
Actually i should figure out the formula but i don't know why i can't even think about anything my mind's stuck and doesn't work :((

i'll use this formula and after that i'll try the parabola thing. Thanks for helping :)

You're welcome! Glad that it sort of works with what you were after.

You know, people are often so afraid of looking stupid that they really withdraw from asking the direct questions that they would need to ask to grow and develop. The only reason that you feel like your mind's stuck is probably because your mind's not really used to think in this way yet. This is true for everything at some point and probably it holds true for a longer time period than we would like to admit; we only get fluid at parts of complicated subjects such as computer science and math after we've been practicing them for a great deal of time. And even then there'll always be the opportunity to look stupid again because there'll be parts that we haven't touched upon even after tens of years of experience. One way of accelerating the learning process is to ask the dumbest questions that you probably know will help you the most, right? In the momvent of asking such questions, people that have forgotten or neglected how things work will look down on you. However, it's totally worth it just for the chance of getting a meaningful answer.

Good luck with implementing that by the way, and don't be afraid to ask anything that you think would help you if you get stuck. Provide lots of embarassing details on where you get stuck and people will be able to help you in a better way. ^_^
hey man i was hoping to help you with that project you're working on . feel free to contact me anytime
    Thanks you too ;)
Anyway feel free to ask questions :) (even if I didn't practice GUI for a while I might help you)
Okay I think you need to practice a bit more before become part of the team since we want all our spells MUI :)
Anyway thanks for the reply ;)
If you got more questions I'm here !

Spread the information we recruit please :D
