because you anger me with second-guessing my decisions, + i am tipsy, so i am really more likely to react bad >_> and besides you could have done that already if you are really serious about it. is it really injustice to others in my ratings? then i should maybe resign and let you be buried under pending models, rite?

i tried using the frostwyrm teamcolor for the orb. i also tried using the crystal texture for the claws, though i don't think it complements well with the carapace. i think i'll keep the claws as blades.

updated the beetle with TC. and also uploaded a new model

i'll be updating the model with team color once i get home.

Oh no need to ask for forgiveness. I might easily have formulated myself rather clumsy. I don't mean it as a copy or close representative of the already existing Sylvanas, but more in the sense that the type of hero you made of a standard unit (the archer) is another version of an existing unit (Sylvanas). So its more a reflection on the theme than the actual unit, which I agree is vastly different in theme and thus fitting appearance than Sylvanas and thus also making it a ideal as a wood elf and perhaps more fitting in a regular elf army, by avoiding the whole high elf part.
So to summarize, its not that it isn't a different from Sylvanas - its the hero aspect that is too similar - in regards to the contest theme of hero'izing a regular unit - as Sylvanas and Shandri already are heroes.
Did that explain it a bit better?

Also, we should probably figure out a rough system for "how to deal with intractable voters"... I mean, for example, how you long do you think we should wait for a voter like Creator to Edit his vote for correctness before removing it? How many warnings, and in what style? Interesting questions for something like. Heaven forbid, we offend someone & they could feasibly go on a spree, posting a buncha times with random votes. Sure, we can just delete them, but I don't want this to become your new day-job.

Speaking of which, how's the new computer coming along? I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. : )

That's quite alright. Modeling contests have been missed so much by people. Actually the notices are HTML, but I can easily convert it to that. Thanks man.

Ok, a month sounds pretty good (lol, at this stage of life, anything quicker would feel way too short ).

And yeah, I think since the "Polling" is sort of 'tacked-on' as opposed to 'built-in' like regular Polling, we'll just have to close the Thread or disregard votes after a certain time.

Keep your fingers crossed; so far people seem to be "getting" the voting, and listening to instructions (giving reasons). I'm very pleased & somewhat surprised, but grateful. Perhaps this can be the start of something good... I'll let you know if I see anything worthy of deleting, though.

Took care of the Test Map, thanks (totally forgot; it was attached to the Pastebin, but when I copy-pasta-d obviously it didn't follow. xD

Umm... yeah, that was partly accidental and partly intentional. I accidentally didn't indicate a time for the Poll to end (forgot). I intentionally set the Poll to "0" duration (i.e. infinite) since I was rushed, couldn't remember how long a poll should normally last, and all that stuff. I figured you or an Admin could change it when we figured that out. Any suggestions?

Hey Deolrin, just checked my files and the latest (and only) version of my model is from the 17th of August, which means that the model in the resource section is dated to that as well. I'm guessing that the October 25th date is there because that's when HappyTauren approved the resource.

Ahh well, I don't really like the Hive's rating system

Oh hey, if that's all you got, there's nothing saying that I can't post it. : ) At least, that's what I had intended. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't forgotten/mis-typed anything.

It's not like a "sin" or anything (they haven't been morally reprehensible), but it is a "transgression" (crossing of a boundary). Perhaps just for future reference/contests, we should make sure to let people know about that. It just saves us from all the issues we're having now (hunting down entrants, checking update dates, questioning trust, etc).

Also, there's not inherently a problem with WhiteDeath. I wasn't paying attention to if/when they ever updated it; just who *didn't* upload directly to the thread (since that's technically the requirement that invalidates their entry; not merely the update date).

I did not updated the model after the deadline, the date you see is the moderation by HappyTauren.
If you open the archive you will see that the "last modified" date of the mdx file is correct.

Don't forget (as much as I hate to admit it) WhiteDeath.

It's weird... I guess Freddy & PvtToma are pretty new to the site (and WhiteDeath new to contests), so I can understand some confusion (even though the rules were right there, black & white...), but SuPa's been around the block more than a few times. :<

That 'update' was actually me deleteting the model, it's still the same.
(If you check, all my resources are now deleted). You can still get it from the same link.

If you want to verify, all my models have been 'updated' on the same day, which is me purging them

Edit: Odd, I just checked and not all of them have the same update date.
Or maybe the 'update' was because of the Moderator's remarks?
Since it's the same date as my purge.

Edit 2: Just checked some other contest submission, and apparently those who had moderator comments are now updated on the 26th. :/

Hey, about the Modeling Contest... Something I realized, a little too late, is that people didn't really follow instructions quite right, and in a way that enables a level of what could be considered cheating.

Basically, several of the entrants, in their "FINAL" post, rather than upload the model itself in a "finished" form, instead linked to their upload of the model in the Model Resource Section. Since many of those have since been updated in one way or another (of course after the deadline), this would technically render their entries Invalid.

Now, I don't want to be too hard-nosed about this, but there it is. Perhaps we can request an appropriate copy (i.e. Dated at no later than the contest-ending date)... Eh?
