    I'm just not sure how to implement the Impale system to work for Ravage.For example, how would it be used? Would 20 impales be casted around the caster in all directions?
    Then there is the issue of a unit being hit by 2 different impales (but I suppose I could add them to a group so that this doesn't happen).
    I don't think the Impale system will really help; you need a whole Ravage system.Are you keen to do it?

    In my opinion "origin" works better, you could try it. If you don't like it, then use "chest" :)
    Add importing instructions into the map file.

    The spell doesn't compile in JNGP (but does in normal WE) due to MakeList not returning a boolean.

    You could do it like this, and not use MakeList function
