I don't see the rage. Anyway, they were the only ones available, and the other debatants make out half of the usual contestants. I'd say having half of the likely participating contestants discuss a theme is sufficient and yields a more correct result than a public poll where everyone could vote for their favourite theme. We didn't all agree on this particular theme, but we all agreed it needed to be concise and easy to understand - an object.

And to iterate..

I did not personally choose the theme. We discussed the theme for five hours in the chat, and we concluded with this theme. We include, but is not limited to, ike_ike, Dionesiist, Mr.Goblin, Mr. Bob, Sansui, shamanyouranus, anarchianbedlam and Hakeem. Moreover, where did I respond with rage? I may have taken an arrogant stance, but that is because it is I who decide, and I have every right to do so as the host. We did weigh all of the suggested themes.

I don't think Mr.Goblin meant to be downright insulting. It's just his way of expressing things. When did I attack TLI personally, though? By assuming he needed to read up on what concept art is? I agree that might've been arrogant of me, but it does appear to me that he doesn't know what concept art means. He's mixing it up with conceptual art, which is understandable - but I can't have anyone picking up on this misunderstanding.

The doctor comparison was absolutely necessary. He's saying that it doesn't matter if you as a concept artist only know how to draw one specific subject as long as there are other concept artists on the team. Although the consequences for the client are much less severe in the latter case, both providers (doctor and concept artist) would be fired for such preferences.

As for insulting people in the thread; I have done no such thing intentionally, though I might've been blunt. When people are under the impression character design art is not concept art, then I have to put in an effort to clarify that it is.
