eh, I'm a skinner or texture artist primarily, not particularly good with spells and effects. You may want to check out the spells section and find users with high-rated spells for help. I think Will the Almighty is one of the best when it comes to modeling effects themselves, Paladon is pretty good at triggering spells. Both of these users have submitted some decent tutorials as well, you may want to check them out to.

umm... I'm actually not really the best, but when it comes to make good looking spells i could lend you a hand i guess. Do you have any specific request or are you asking me to generally explain it, because if its the second, i can only suggest you to go through some tutorial on this site or, well, as stupid it may sound, learning by doing
