  • Does the below example of the Paladin's spells, not clearly define him as a Healer/Tank?

    If you want, and if it isn't against the rules, I can help you with some spells.
    The Crypt Lord/Paladin, they are too roles; army spawner/disruptor and tank/healer. That's already half of the roles needed. Now you need 2 more, eg. a scout (eg. Far Seer) or nuker (eg. Blood Mage).
    Now, spells. Pretend I'm Frank Pearce or whoever the fuck runs Blizzard...
    "Lets see, I'm intending the Paladin to be a defensive tank and healer. What kind of spells should he have? Oh, since he's a healer, maybe he should heal, so lets give him Holy Light! And as he's a tank, why not make him invulnerable too, so give him Divine Shield! Ah, also he's supposed to be defensive... Devotion Aura! Now, for his ultimate, we're gonna need a combination..."
    Samwise Didier raises his hand:
    "Give him Earth, Storm and Fire!"
    Back to Frank Pierce:
    "Didier, shut the fuck up about you and your pandas. We'll give him Resurrection! By reviving units, he is 'healing'(bringing back to life, same thing) AND boosting defense (or keeping his men alive, which is the same thing)!

    I can type up an overview of all three races for you. They aren't exactly copies of their corresponding Wc3 race. And Demons have no race :p

    Hehe, my mistake, I was thinking about some Halo shit whilst writing...
    Do you want to know how many possible roles there are?
    Sure, they all link to one of the three archetypes; Warrior(mostly Strength and Agility), Ranger(agility), Mage(intelligence), but, what similarities are inbetween a Paladin and a Crypt Lord, aside from the attribute? With this, you can create like 6 heroes per race, with each with different AND clearly defined roles.
    For the caster, I think you should emphasise it on your race's strategy. For instance, my casters are both buffers because my race is a 'counter-defense' race (not aggressive, like Orcs). So, if you're race is more offensive, I think the caster should be an offensive one. If you lack defensive factors, make his spells offensive-support, eg. like the Shaman's Bloodlust.
    He'll probably give them to me. Since I started the UTM, a few modellers (such as Forgotten_Warlord and Fingolfin) have risen to make Halo models. (EDIT) Also, Kimberly and ike_ike made a batch of Halo icons. The UTM inspires :O

    Anyways, I'm making a new kick-ass Brute model. You'll like it. Me and my modeller, Revilo, are making it. And I've added Team-coloured armor, so you can have your ranks. Also gonna completely re-vamp everything.

    This gets better and better. And the system you described original or at least as combo of many ideas not sure yet.
    Like in Dawn of War? I love that system but I never thought it could be successfully used in warcraft cuz of really low number of units used generally.
    Uh damn so much hero related gameplay. Tho mana as resource isn't bad actually. I remember there was a project with a race that used mana to make units and buildings and only way to recharge mana was to send workers to sleeping chambers.

    I still don't see how the spell would know if it is breaking food supply. It just keeps summoning and ignoring that food supply is red.

    Well I wanted to replace regular training of units with ability that would raise needed unit from corpses. I am just to damn lazy to make the spell spend resources and somehow limit it with population limit. Even if summoned unit actually uses food spell would just go beyond limit.
    I like the pre-wow lore but when making races lets face it, lore takes backseat to the real fun. And actually I am working on my undead and for now all is great except I had to leave one cool idea... I just have to at least try since who knows when will be next.

    I should be starting this weekend. No concrete ideas yet, apart from I want to do something air, lots of air units and a game play based on air. I haven't decided on the race yet. Will keep you informed :p
