Reputation (+1): (Post) Not being an asshole does not technically oblige me to award you with reputation, but I'm feeling generous today so I decided to award you with reputation anyway. Besides, why the hell not?
Wow, I don't log on for a couple of months and I come back to a message telling me to log on. I must be popular
I lol'd at how you were 2 years ago (those other messages between us)
Anyway, I haven't done anything warcraft-y since the SC2 beta came out, and I don't even have SC2 now -- I've got a job in the game industry (mobile games at the moment), so I probably won't ever be very active at the hive again.
All that that "bot" does is receive messages. You'll have to do all of the parsing and whatnot yourself. Basically that's what our library was intended for - to add a basic layer of functionality for the chatroom, and then other people can build their bots/clients on top of that.
If you'd like to help with the library then I think both TH and I would be okay with that
I used java but at some point I'm gonna rewrite him in C#
As for making a chat bot, this isn't the sort of bot that would help you make a game. What this sort of bot does is basically read chat messages, find ones that are commands, and then parse and respond to them. Nothing really AI-ish.
