        I see. I don't know what's causing it tho. It's a simple hero picking mechanism commonly used in other maps too, like dota, bvo, etc. I'm sorry I'm helpless right now, I have a lot of problems in getting original copy of wc3 so I can't patch to 1.28 and check the problem myself.

      Yo i've been trying to play embercraft but i cant seem to create a character. Is the game not working on the newest wc3 patch?

        I don't know, I'm still using 1.27b myself. What version are you using?

        Creating a character is very simple tho, patch version shouldn't be a problem. The character selection is at the bottom-right corner btw, in case you don't see it.

      GetTerrainZ doesn't account correctly for water height, and the only way I know to do it causes severe lag over time (check ZLibrary in jass section). If you could figure something out that would be great. It affects your panel system and my UI library.

        Well, it breaks all custom missile based spells and systems have ever submitted in hive. Water level fucks things up, I never bother to fix it. But I will give it a shot this weekend.

        Tomorrow I have an exam so I can't test this idea:
        Try using amphibious (movement type) unit and put it on water, you can probably calculate the water depth by calculating UnitZ-TerrainZ. They said amphibious stays on water surface.

      Hey what was your desync from? I'm getting a desync in a specific location in the map that I'm making and I'm not sure what it is yet. I can't reproduce it in other maps. I was thinking it had something to do with lighting on models that locations weren't synced, but I don't think that's it.

        I think It was calling IsTerrainWalkable locally caused the desync, or maybe GetTerrainZ too.
        Well, async unit location doesn't desync for me so maybe that wasn't it

      Could you add a dummy model to it and attach an effect to that? Alternatively can you reduce the number of emitters with range?

        Well, if we want to modify vertex color or animation we can;t use special effect attached to dummy unit. We need a separate dummy object for it.
        Reducing emitter rate is possible with animation but to make it looks smooth it will need a number of animations.

      Have a visual effect on the spell that becomes dimmer as the range increases until it vanishes and the spell is broken. This way enemy players can tell as well.

        Well, the projectile model uses particle and ribbon emitters so it's not possible to manipulate their transparency.

        Ah, not yet I kinda forgot. Btw, what do you want to see when it's out of range? Simply stop channeling or order the projectiles to turn around to the opposite direction?

      Hey Quil,

      I'm working on a spell that uses two abilities. One ability makes the other ability get added to the command card and the original ability gets "hidden". Using the second ability will remove it and add the original ability back. Easy enough, but I don't want the cooldown to reset.

        1) Ive tested it like 20 times. Increasing it to beyond max level hides it.
