Sue one guy - yea, not happening
Sue the 2nd IceFrog if there ever will be one - more chances of happening, but that's rare case
Sending Cease and desist to whole communities who agree on the old patch - very likely in my opinion
But yet that is what I will advocate for. Choose version, host...
So they can't say something like "This is our policy now even if you use older versions you agree to that by using any version of WE"?
If they can't do that... well nothing changes for me, 1.29 should be the official community supported version.
I think there is a big misunderstanding here about this. As someone pointed out the names/ideas/stoeies and so on are about the platform in this case it means DON'T USE WC3 NAMES(and so on) OUTSIDE OF THE EDITOR.
Although the new EULA is abysmal and terrible, we are exaggerating the differences...
Let's all just calm down for a second.
1. The WE EULA always had the point about Blizzard owning your map - as pointed out before.
2. The part with not using copyrighted materials in your map is OK and FAIR, Blizzard doesn't want to have trouble with right holders - as pointed out before.
So in wake of the disaster that was brought on the community by Reforged, and as far as I know MindWorX still working for Blizzard, what now?
It looks like the promise of official WE being better than SharpCraft WEX was broken, or atleast not fulfiled at the date it was supposed to be. What do...
While I understand and know that the idea won't pass, I just wanted to defend the idea against arguments like "nothing good can come out of it"
Your arguments are strong and logical Freddyk and I think that's the definitive answer to my idea.
I'm not mad that you guys don't like the idea, and I get it that not everyone may like it.
But there are some things that are strange to me. Didn't any of you see a game jam happen? People build there from scratch in 24/48 hours, we have a working game that only needs to be modified.
Hey, I just thought about porting the idea of game jam to our community with Warcraft maps.
What is it (for those who don't know):
- Creators are given some amount of time (usually 24 or 48 hours) to make a game (or a map in our case) from scratch
- Every map has to (atleast loosely) fit into...
They are not :( It was Black Isle part of BioWare if i'm not mistaken. BioWare isn't the same as it was, and Black Isle was closed down. The closest thing to the original studio who made BG would be Obsidian I guess?
So... when you visit website of Larian - the creators of Divinity: Original Sin you can see a big roman nuber 3. First thought of everyone was "Divinity: Original Sin III" (or maybe Half-Life 3 for some still hoping) but some guys dug into the files, and found references to "Baldurs Gate Logo"...
My idea would work for me cause all of my spells are triggered anyway and every object editor value for them is the same, all based of chanel ability. So range and so on is not a problem in my case.
Guess I'll do it like that then if I won't find official notes stating that hotkey change will be...
I'm working on Sharpcraft Editor, and I know there are people still using JNGP, what doesn't work in your editor?
Btw. why 1.27?
From Sharpcraft WE thread:
1.27.1 - Tested and fully supported.
1.27.0 - Tested and fully supported.
