      Hey going well. I have been chipping away at it while trying to finish my own project. I'm not sure which texture you wanted me to edit so if you could send me that i can do that too. That one should be quicker than the UI. also once i finish my project i can sped all my time with you.

      It is extremely hard to make it flow as you want it, even then, not really much. You can't use the 'Increase One' or 'Decrease One' tools, you can't really lower or raise and so on. You can create some rather boring terrain deformations, for example a 3D sinus wave eminating from a given point. (Hard to describe.)

      You can change the terrain type at a given location, for example from Lordaeron Dirt to Lordaeron Grass and you can create weather effects in a given region. For example make it rain in a given part of the map only.

      So yeah, not really much.

      Anything above seven or so causes some lag. I would not recommend over 10 levels.

      An ability won't cause constant lag. It will cause lag, once, when it is first loaded into the game. Say you have an ability with around 10 levels. You use trigger to add that ability to a unit. In that instant, the game loads the ability, with all 10 of its levels, causing a massive lag spike. However, once that is done, that particular ability won't cause any more lag.

      And yeah I optimized it already, it was at like 8.2mb and I dropped it to something like 7.7.

      It's huge, but that shouldn't discourage you. Just make sure you don't have to reload often. (For example, if you die, you don't have to reload but instead respawn somewhere.)

      Don't use the mip maps, open the original textures with blp lab and save it as a blp with 70-50% quality. You will notice some big textures can be reduced from 1M to 200 kb without lose a lot of detail.

      Anyway, if you want to use the mipmaps, just change the mipmap name with the original texture name.

      Mainly, loading time. And if you handle it improperly, it can lead to lag. But that can be prevented by preloading properly. For example, by placing all custom units on the map and then removing them on game start will prevent later lags when such custom unit is first used. Or another example would be creating an ability that has way too many levels. Addig it to whatever unit and then removing that unit will "preload" the ability, preventing later lags. The same goes for sounds and so on.
      Directly, however, the map size will only affect the loading time.
