Think about this first, what's so bad about waiting for days / weeks for moderation?

Answer: It isn't a bad thing at all. Most pending reaources usually get more activity than approved ones. About needing more active moderators, there simply aren't enough qualified to hire - and having too much staff can be problematic. Also note that long ago in the past there were times where resources frequently took months to be moderated.

Sure, and I think you've figured out yourself, but just go to your profile settings and add a profile picture there.
