@SebioL everything is possible. Ship ai update too. Creep ai should also be updated because they drop agro too easily and close when hopping inside a boat.

I suppose not, not even for the Zeppelins, there were improvements, if you have an island to be explored, not even by air they seek. The computer does not work well with transporting units by air, imagine by the waters.
Blizzard is unlikely to make a better AI for transportation, the players themselves, for the most part, have never been interested in this dynamic for Wc3.
 
@SebioL yea transportation usually just adds new work for the players and Ai to do for simple task of moving units. I can see why creating new ai for it isn't high on priority.
 
@SaveHighKing But for AI to move units by transport, it also needed to do this rationally, using triggers is not at all effective. It should be like moving into attack waves or crawling expansions, moving by strategy and not just randomly moving a group of units from one place to another at any time out of order.
 
@SebioL sometimes ai tries to walk to island expansion but they cant do that. This should make ai use vehicle to go there. Ai also could save low hp units inside vehicle.
 
I have never seen AI cross islands to seek even a gold mine through the Zeppelins.
Which vehicle will transport ..? it is the vehicle that needs to have its own coding for remanagement within logical orders. There is no such thing in Wc3. it doesn't work well either by triggers, only blizzard can solve it or a very good guy in scripts.
 
@SebioL We have seen Ai use zeppelin for attacks in campaing. Thats a small start. Very difficult to add this stuff for melee. Same goes for ai buying mercs.
 
@SaveHighKing Campaign attacks are easy. They trigger an event to unload the units when they need to be activated, this's easy also on custom maps.
But in fact, in a Melee you need dynamic changes, it requires a huge script, full of Regions and specific to each map... Worst of all, they will still have failures, triggers are not enough.
 
@SebioL Interestingly enough there are no triggers to control the zeppelin in roc undead 04 level. On that map high elven barracks can produce zeppelins and they're attacking by usage of ai script. With mpq editor people can look at the script and study it. I don't know the mechanism of the zep attacks. Script u04_lightblue seems to have zeppelin in build order.
