ZERG INFESTATION (BETA6d)

[Note: This map is protected by WC3 Optimizer.]

A Terran Command Center has been infiltrated by a Zerg\Terran Hybrid. The crew of the Command Center must devise a way to figure out who is Zerg, and defend their base against a Zerg onslaught.

Version Beta6d
- Balanced Heroes\Items.
- Cargo Crates now yield items.
- Ghetto-Fixed "Dialog Bug".
- Mind Control is now useful.
- Installation Zerg error fixed.
- Doors now stay destroyed.

Classes: Marine, Firebat, Medic, Ghost

Ranks: Captain, Warrant Officer, Non-Commisioned Officer, and of course Infested Terran

The "Can't click bug" is called, by most, the Dialog Bug, sence it happens when you use the dialog menu. As far as I know there is no known cure.

Whats the point in mind controlling zerg if thay dont attack zerg? Being able to trade rank seems a little odd. Why does the goliath have less hp then a low level marine? In late game the zerg quite spawning after thay have fully infested the building. Making it very easy for remaining humans to run freely in the snowly wilderness. Why is the storage area full of empty crates? and lastly, havng them zerg dna test things buy-able seems a little much. If only medics started with them, players would not find the zerg in 10 sec.

A few people have told me that if I leave a slot open theres a chance for a instant win if the zerg trys to be a non-player. Its never happend to me, but a simple check player condtion could fix that. If you have not already.

Yes, I have not been able to troubleshoot this problem very well. However it seems that most people who experience it have bad connections\Computers. If that is the case I can't do much about it.

Obviously Mind-Control has been made quite useless; however I will try and make it so that the Zerg will be able to attack other Zerg in the next version.

I disagree. Later in the game, rank dosent mean that much, because power may be out, and of course inventory space is precious.

I thought the Goliath had more HP; however the Goliath has fortified armor which reduces damage signifigantly.

I've never had this become a problem, but it is possible that what you are describing may of been likely to occur in the older versions.

I'm still debating whether to change the Zerg Test.

This game was well put together, but as far as gameplay goes.. it sucks. To easy and to short, players find out who is infested way to fast and easy. These types of games are my favorite but this one is definately my least favorite.

Thats pretty harsh, but remember the map is still in Beta. I'm still modding the map, and tweaking gameplay\balancing. The next version will be more balanced.

dont listin to assholes like that, they insult you because they cant do any better themself. anyway i like the map what server are you on though i saw someone with your name on east today and he didnt know anything about "his own map"

In 6D there are a few thing I would like to comment on.
First the crates randomly drop its. problem with that is its real easy to get lots of armor and weapon upgrade real early.
Sence there are no dna tests at all it makes have a medic or 2 extraly valuable. You seemed to have changed the path zergs take once there in the base making its very hard do hide.
Now sence ghost cant stay in clock (Not that it would help sence you can buy infered now) you cant win once the zerg have broken into the base. oh and due to all the inferred, spider mines are as uselss as cloak.
Its extramy easy for the zerg to win in 6D.
I always liked taking control of the few inferreds and destrying the beacon so the zerg could not see invisables at all, then laying traps with spider mines, not thats inposable. I feel that 6C was more balanced even with its flaws.

This comment does not have to do with the map. Just I find ky's comment very ironic. =þ

I agree, it is easily abused. I will make it so that you may only have one type of item at a time, and maybe make the Crates stronger, or change the items that can be found in them.

Few more things I noticed in 6D, The infestation time is about 30 secs making it extramy easy to get the whole team zerged. When you drop or trade your Rank your name does not change accordingly, If I start as a Nco and pick up a Warrden rank I'm still a Nco when chatting.
I dont like what you did you the ghost, his power came from being able to hide for a long peird of time. Afcourse that could be easly abused, but if you cooldown on cloak was increesed per level making it just a little longer than the cloak it self would be much better than that psi wave. The ghost when from the most tacticle to the most usless hero. Im a big ghost fan =þ

Is the Marines Gernade Launcher ment to do splash damage or not? I was under the impression it was (the first time I used it) when I shot it into a group of hydras only 1 took damage, I regreated droping my gernades...

If each Terran/zerg could only 1 weapon/bodyarmor that would realy cut down on "super units". I think you should start the infected terran to unallie the zerg, but not have the zerg unally him so at least he can pretend to be human. then once hes disovered he can force-move any zerg to re-allie them.

- Zerg have night vision.
- The game is more random.
- You cannot have more than 2 heroes of each type.
- Grenades fixed, and balanced.
- Lockdown now breaks with damage.
- C4 fixed.
- Indoor Zerg spawn properly.

Classes: Marine, Firebat, Medic, Ghost, Goliath, Siege Tank, SCV, and Wraith.
Ranks: Captain, Warrant Officer, Non-Commisioned Officer, and of course Infested Terran.
