Difficulty:

Red can choose the difficulty setting of the game for Normal, Experienced, and Veteran.

Difficulty also depends on the amount of players. So a 1-2 player game won't have the more difficult bosses a 3-4 player game has. Difficulty also increases the more you get done in the game and will effect the ending you may have.

This ensures that more experienced players who are able to clear the map get an ending that matches their level of skill.

Thanks FireTiger for the feedback! We greatly appreciate it. We'll be adding some new things and making some adjustments in our next update. I'll be sure to send ya an update once we do.

On a side note, anyone wishing to play a game with can holler at us in Clan WP @ US East or look for our WOLFPACK bot autohosting the map. The game name should be as follows

WoS: Exodus! Hero Survival #_ (In the _ goes the number)

I love this map! 5/5 and a rep!

Some comments:

  • Add a skip button, waiting for 3 minutes per wave at late game is kind of boring when you have taken everything from outside.
  • Make the Enchanted Staff purchaseable
  • Add a ranged mercenary in the Mercenary Shop
  • Make the Town Hall in the upper part of the village an actual Town Hall where it can be used to upgrade the health and regeneration of every non-hero units.
  • I see that there are non-humans and even a Dragon Turtle! I would like to see some lore between the non-humans.
  • The Dwarves rescued in the cave aren't moving to the town.
  • A ranged DPS hero?

Hey Len. Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed our map.

You cleared everything on the map before the last few waves?! That's awesome. Didn't think I'd have to implement skipping timers for that, hah. I'm guessing that means you've reached the hardest ending?

The enchanted staff is purchaseable in the Magic Shop on the bottom left corner of the town center.

As a ranged mercenary, you mean like an archer? Because there are a few spellcasting ranged units you can hire at the Tavern.

You must've missed it; there's an Enchanter's Guild in the bottom right corner of the town, a little ways down a dirt road. You can upgrade ranged and melee units armor and damage seperately, and you can upgrade towers health and armor. One upgrade bought by any player will apply the upgrade to all units, from player to AI.

The little lore we could fit in this fast-paced game is only what you read when you save a unit, or from the tips that pop up once in a while, guiding you through the map. It's definitely a good idea though, me and Saken will see how we can add a little lore behind the different races.

The dwarves are a bug. It used to be the goblin mercenaries who wouldn't send, now it's them when they don't feel like it, hahah. I will look through my triggers and try to make sure the dwarves always send automatically. However, I've already made a periodic trigger that sends them back. Did you save them late in the game or early? They should've eventually went to the town regardless.

There are two ranged DPS heroes without counting the spellcasters: the Demon Hunter and the Ranger.

Please, if there's anything else, ask and suggest away. Thank you for your review.

I'm ashamed to admit that I cheated all the way because I'm only after the story as of now and I haven't any friends to co-op with, but I will play that in coop no-cheat in the future when I have time. But nonetheless, I think a skip timer could be a less bum.

The enchanted staff is purchaseable in the Magic Shop on the bottom left corner of the town center.

Didn't see that.

As a ranged mercenary, you mean like an archer? Because there are a few spellcasting ranged units you can hire at the Tavern.

Magic damage isn't pretty effective to those flying units if I'm not mistaken (But I haven't checked their armor type yet).

You must've missed it; there's an Enchanter's Guild in the bottom right corner of the town, a little ways down a dirt road. I'm referring to unit hit points, which the Guild does not give.

I thought Demon Hunter was melee and I missed the Ranger. Anyway, I hope in the future I can see some non-human heroes (Inb4 someone calls me out on political correctness)

Btw, why are the Naga considered Undeath though?

I see... Honestly, I'd rather not accomodate cheating seeing as that would encourage it. Not only that but skipping could be exploited in different ways and even when Saken and I play through the game we always need that extra time to prepare or finish clearing what we need to.

You're right, Magic damage isn't as effective, but the only flying units the Forces of Undeath have are the few floating eyeballs scattered around the map. There are no flying units in the waves, ever. Also, for example, the Battle Mage's forked lightning is extremely useful for managing waves. Probably more so than piercing damage would.

I could definitely add a HP upgrade for all units to the Guild. Couldn't use the Town Hall though, Saken designed it to be a doodad, a structure couldn't look and act like this Hall does. (You can climb the stairs and walk around on it)

The Naga actually are Undeath. I don't know if you saw it, but when the first few Naga start coming in waves, there's an event that triggers and shows you a little lore behind them and turns all the water in the map blood red. Also their skins are undead/demon naga skins.

Okay, so I did it solo without cheat as a Demon Hunter. I barely perfected the first round as I can't even clear a camp (and the necromancer was so desperate he had to finger a woman). But anyway, I rushed Banner of Lords and it became too easy at least. The turret needs to be affected by the upgrades (same as the Void Dragon and the Rune Golem) and it's a bit futile for all the patrollers to go south since they are mostly melee. How about making everyone allowed to attack air?

I was expecting the evil king to appear. Maybe 10 more levels with him as the final boss?

Solo Demon Hunter isn't Easy enough, wasn't able to save the Commander and everyone in the Dwarf Cave.

Nice job getting to the end solo. That's not an easy feat.

Firstly, every Hero's unique ability is upgradeable via the Ring of Skill which is sold in almost every shop in the game. While holding it, your Demon Hunter's turret would be a lot more powerful, and you'd be able to use it more often.

Second, the patrollers go South either way to help because the dragon has summons, and also you reached the easiest ending. There are 3 different endings with different difficulties, the other 2 include King Lothrim. The endings depend on what you've accomplished throughout the game; the hardest difficulty ending comes only if you completed every quest, saved every unit, and cleared the entire map of undead units.

And lastly you're not meant to be able to save everything, especially solo, unless you have a Cleric on your team or some form of healing. That's mostly what she was designed for, she can heal and even resurrect almost every unit. With the right item build and strategy, it's do-able.

Btw, thanks for trying without cheats!!

I'm aware of it, it's just mostly, Warcraft AI tend to target wards first and the turret doesn't scale late game even with 55 attack damage.

I did it once again without cheat using Dragon Hunter. The funniest thing is, early game, he is actually the easiest to build up. I just camp the spawn points, rush Ring of SKill and use shackles on abominations and spam the stun. I managed to get to the end with 40000 excess gold. I had a bittersweet ending though, I had to repurchase the Energy Towers thrice each, lost every mob and lost 4 villagers.

Heck, the Old Druid is useless. He just gets devoured on. Well, I was playing solo, so I'm not complaining here. :) But still... Amethyx should also be spell immune

I noticed that I can only get free gold when I rescue the Force Wizard and the Elementomancers they gave me separate instances of free gold, which makes it worth to visit them early on.

Also, I found a bug, Spider Silk doesn't work or cannot be clicked on. Maybe just a bug. Please fix.

the hardest difficulty ending comes only if you completed every quest, saved every unit, and cleared the entire map of undead units.

Kindly PM me the quests, because I have done I think almost everything. (Btw, will it count if I complete it before I approach the quest giver?)

Last suggestion, please make an incentive of slaying the Corrupted Willow? Like some sort of a Forest Guardian or maybe yet another Druid?

Heck yeah! Congrats on beating it with Dragon Hunter, the ring of skill build will help out a ton with some heroes. I myself had a hard time adjusting to that hero because he's pretty squishy at first.

Heck, the Old Druid is useless. He just gets devoured on. Well, I was playing solo, so I'm not complaining here. :) But still... Amethyx should also be spell immune

Really? In most cases the Old Druid lives to the very end when I've made it to the very end. I'm not 100% sure on what all of his stats are off the top of my head right now, so we'll get back with you on that. (I'm at work right now.)

I noticed that I can only get free gold when I rescue the Force Wizard and the Elementomancers they gave me separate instances of free gold, which makes it worth to visit them early on.

Are you sure it wasn't the villager income happening at the time you were rescuing the camps? Because there is no trigger to give gold upon the saving of any camp within the game.

Also, I found a bug, Spider Silk doesn't work or cannot be clicked on. Maybe just a bug. Please fix.

I apologize for that, that is my doing. I had created an ability for the spider silk to do, but halfway through creating the ability I realized I'd rather use that item for something else/remove it entirely. At this point I may replace the eggs that drop the Spider Silk item and have it drop mini spiders for extra gold and experience, but I wanted to really try and venture out and look into making the Spider Silk required for an item recipe.

Kindly PM me the quests, because I have done I think almost everything. (Btw, will it count if I complete it before I approach the quest giver?)

The quest will still count even if you complete it before speaking with the quest giver. I'll PM you momentarily the quests/things that need to be done to reach the hardest ending.

Last suggestion, please make an incentive of slaying the Corrupted Willow? Like some sort of a Forest Guardian or maybe yet another Druid?

The Corrupted Willow drops a +5 to all stats consumable item, the highest of its kind in the game and also if you haven't discovered yet, there are 4 shells across the map that when you hover your mouse over, it will highlight and say, "Willow's Treasure". Each treasure drops a random tome. One of these shells is located within the Willow Swamp.

I never noticed the units targeting the wards. I'll reduce it's priority like that it'll stay alive longer. If it's the only thing around though, the Forces of Undeath will deal with it fairly quickly. It's not meant to be tanky or anything, it's meant as extra ranged DPS. Perhaps using a summon or mercenaries with the Demon Hunter would help with that? A bit of fodder to give the ward a chance to deal it's damage.

Edit: Hey, Len. Saken and I do this little thing where we give all the people who test our maps little critters named after them. Seeing as you've help us as much as any tester could, I'm adding a little critter under your name on the map. Have fun finding it in the next update ;)

Thank you so much! Our next update to the map will be coming sometime soon. We will be including new legendary item recipes, more agility based items, and over all more content and detail to the UI and the player experience.

Edit:

The update is soon to be released, we have created many more items and are in the works of finalizing them and also working on balancing summons a bit more before the release of v1.1

Re-Edit: 15/08/2016

Due to some last minute bug finds, we will be postponing the release of v1.1 until things have been re-tested and ironed out. Hopes are to test our fixes tonight and hopefully have the next huge update ready for everyone to play.

We are now at +10 new recipe items by the way, to make the game play a lot different for all hero types.

World of Strife: Exodus v1.1 has been released!

It is auto hosted by our WOLFPACKBot, game name should be "[WP] WoS:Exodus! NEW #_" The "_" part being usually a # between 1-30.

Check the update log for the full list of changes. Also updated a few of the screenshots to match the terrain changes.

Sorry to hear about your laptop, Len, but we did fix the Spider Silk item. Instead of it being a usable item, we have made it into a crafting item used in the recipes to create two agility based armors. Additionally, we did fix the dragon turtle devour ability so it can't target bosses, lol. Illusionist had one of his skills improved to give him better control over the battlefield, as well we expanded upon more spell caster recipe items to allow for different hero builds.

We hope you're able to get your laptop up and running to enjoy all of the new changes.

Looks interesting.

I suggest u add more detailed skills' descriptions. For example the passive of the Knight doesnt mention any numbers or %.

Generally i like build diversity options in RPGs, so its good when skills are complex and scale with different stats.

We'll see if we are able to find any more bugs as well and get the rest of the descriptions up to par and will work on uploading our next update to Exodus, v1.11.

Edit: I realized I never put a timeframe, this update will probably take some time and won't be uploaded for another couple of weeks since we are in the midst of finishing an entirely new game that we have been working on since before the release of Exodus. We appreciate everyone's patience as we get to these fixes.

Did you have the mithril ore item too? Also, if you bought the recipe before having all of the items, you'll need to drop the recipe item and pick it back up. We've already tested all of the ring of skill and dragon egg combinations and they all work just fine.

hey guys, is this a bug....actually we've been kicked out of our town by the undead...and we have gathered some power and are now trying to infiltrate our own town (and the undead are now playing the survivors role :D:D:D)....

we are battling the undead just at the town border and we get a message "chikupandi has failed"....this is my friends gamertag, and she disappears from the game again and again.........why is this happening???? it's not a 'disconnection' her character just disappears and it says "chikupandi has failed' what does this mean????

please help... we are enjoying this game like hell

Hey shekhar9bittu. It's not a bug, but because your town has been overrun by undead and all the villagers have been killed so the heroes don't respawn. You need to have at least 1 villager alive for your heroes to respawn, or else it's game over.

However, if she appears and reappears in the same game over and over again, that's a bug. Can you give me more details? Or was it just due to the villagers being dead?

hello

YES YES i think its a bug

because my friend does not die-----she just disappears, and the message comes "chikupandi has failed"....why is this?????

the villagers are all dead, but we go on doing our thing...but please understand this doesnt have to do with the villagers.

also we save the game via menu....i thought this info has to be told.

hey Krath

we played again just now and finished the game....there was no bug from yesterday...we could play without my friend disappearing.

and one thing more...we finished the game by beating the final boss who is the king of raksala...but the thing is we didnt need to face his army....after killing a few soldiers and mini bosses at the edge of the town we saw the king......then it was just a matter of time that we got his attention and we lured him too towards the edge and between two of our energy towers....we just kept 'hit and running' him....and he fell....

BUT ITS A LET DOWN...please...there should be an option in the end...we never want to fight our coop buddy in the end!!!

so we didnt fight each other and quit it there.

Nice job getting to the end. You reached the medium difficulty ending. There are three endings depending on which quests you've done and how many undead and villagers remain in the map. If you thought it was too easy, try to play it again and clear the entire map of undead and do every quest. You'll get to the hardest ending: King Lothrim AND his undead dragon. Also, we're in the process of adding different difficulty settings in the next update for people who find it too easy.

As for the arena at the end it doesn't really matter in the story. I just found that everyone who would play would end up fighting one another at the end just to see who's strongest, so I made an arena out of it. You don't HAVE to fight in it, it's just an extra feature for fun.

Anyways thanks for trying the game again I'm glad you enjoyed it! Please, let us know if you have any suggestions or if you've found any more bugs.

Sorry for the long wait for the next update. We are near completion of it, we've just been busy working on the 3rd installment to World of Strife, which is coming along very fast considering the time we put into our maps. We'll be updating this soon hopefully, so be on the look out!

Heya!

Great map all in all, but I've got a question regarding something.

The Ancient Stone Necklace and Ancient Stone Earring are both dropped by Bandit Leaders, and are part 1 and 2. However, we cannot seen to find Part 3 anywhere. We've killed literally every single unit on the map, without finding it anywhere.

If there's any hint we can obtain anywhere, or if you have a hint for us, that'd be lovely.

Hey Mr.TwD, thanks for the kind words.

I believe the one you're missing is located near the wolf forest by the left lane. There's a bandit camp right by the wolves and one of the crates in that bandit camp drops the Ancient Stone Ring. It's the only one that doesn't drop from a unit. I think you'll be happy about the bonuses it provides once all three have been combined.

Cheers and good luck!
