Wind Viper

WindSerpentShowcase6.jpg

Wind Vipers or Winged Serpents are as the name suggests, colorful winged constrictors with feathered heads and tails.
They are often found in dry landscapes with intelligence no better than that of a normal serpent.
Some cultures and tribes praise these creatures are air spirits and others see them as pests. Some specimens have been found to grow to
immense size large enough to carry an entire boar while others are no bigger than a meter.

Four custom icon and six model versions are available.
No extra textures required!
Please credit me if you use this model.

Enjoy!

A very nice model and excellent use of different in-game textures. Great job.

Well heck to the yeah. (Though you misspelled "jungle climates" ;P)

@GhostThruster it's that thing you told me to put into the Trolls.
Thank you!
Even though they are snakes, they are mostly found in Durotar and The Barrens. Some in Stranglethron and other places too of course.

Trolls would make good use of these

You know what would be even more terrifying than fluttering diapsids?
Lightweight flying centipedes, with undulating legz!!

Indeed! Where are those Silithids?

God damn it man you are dropping some amazing content <3

I'm hoping we get to see the Air and Storm Elementals again soon though

Thank you very much! More air and storm spoecifically or more elementals in general you mean? We'll see!

These are so neat!
I think the wrap on the back could use some work though, it's too stretchy and repetitive.
Also if you could add more teamcolour (a pattern on the back would be dope), that would also increase the usability of this model. :)

Thanks!
The texture is taken from a tiny scaled piece only found on one specific type of texture.
Didn't want to use the dragon textures as they've been used over and over again and they look too armored and shiny.

Nice model, It is very difficult to find good models of flying units.

Regards.

Thank you!

As countless of these are found in WoW and even used by certain factions I thought it would be fitting to add them to Warcraft
for just that reason! Something diverse Trolls, Lizardmen and perhaps magical races could use.

Nevertheless this ends up being the model's weakest point. I wish a better solution could exist.
Have you considered Couatl, Naga textures, Turtle textures?

Well I mean the Air and Storm Elemental models you had uploaded before, but I look forward to seeing more elementals in general as well :D
Just find it so hard to get a good air elemental, and I love the quality of your models <3

Updated!
Comments about lack of teamcolor got me wondering, seems like the base version I used was an older version before the addition of teamcoloring on the body.
Also tried making sure the texture adds up a bit better and made an overhall on the rigging.
