Warcraft III Reforged Art Tools for 3D Studio Max (Binary)

Hi @Taylor Mouse, I am trying to export a model using your tool and I am running into the error pictured below:

I have reinstalled the plugin, reinstalled 3Ds Max, and generally exhausted all of my limited capabilities and the knowledge I could glean from google searches trying to fix this issue. Can you help me? I used to be able to run your plugin but the new release, while much improved and I can tell superior to the previous iteration, has absolutely stopped me from progressing. Please help! I'm attaching my Max file and textures below, hopefully that helps. You can find me on Retera's discord if you would like to discuss in that forum or shoot me a DM if you prefer. I am also on the hive regularly.

Hey, this is in the tools section now! Will we finally end Retera's Reign of Terror when people start to realize that certain parts of the Retera Model Studio UI was directly inspired by the old 2000's War3ArtTools stuff, and that stuff was a 3ds max plugin?

(I will probably always keep using my code because of the sunk cost fallacy and that kind of thing, but it's fun to joke about this because I know a lot of people wish that my, uhh, "tech support" (or lack thereof), was better funded, haha)

TO be honest, I am a little jealous of the tool you made :p
but, since I've been doing max since the DOS version ( yes I am that old ) I never abandoned it

And yeah, I did to use the old art tools as a reference ( mixed with what SC2 Art Tools gives you )

I'm having issues getting textures to load. I've unpacked the CASC somewhere and named the toplevel folder "Assets", yet it does not load in any textures. The shared textures path is "C:\Users\User\Desktop\WC3 1.32 CASC\Assets\textures\".

Hello. Amazing thing. Very thx author, but I have problem. Can't open MDX from Reforged.

I using cascview to extract MDX from Reforged. And after, when i try to open it, i see this error.

And Strange. I also have one MDX (HD) from internet. And with that model it works.

Hi MrBrown,

The Reforged model format was updated one month ago in the new patch that also added Ladder to the Reforged. Because all models in the game are now in a different format, the 3dx max tool will need a software change to open models from the new version of Reforged. @Taylor Mouse

Hi everyone, as Retera wrote in the comment above, some models are cannot be imported into 3DS Max at all, it’s good that I made a backup of the game content. I initially wanted to import the human Arthas model, but I found a defect in his left eye, for some reason it was rigged from the upper eyebrow, and I don’t know how to correct such errors. Perhaps this defect has been fixed in the new version of the game, but it cannot be loaded. Also, textures are not loaded onto the model, but this is not critical since I can look at the model in Retera's Model Studio.

Addition, I found a solution for importing, for this you need to export the model using Model Studio and save where do you want. Unfortunately, even the model from the new version of the game has the same defect with the eye😅.

I have a problem, the new version of the script imports models with a darkened mesh, which makes it difficult for these models to put light in the SFM (Source Filmmaker), the model simply turns it off. The old version of the script did not have this problem (i'm using 3DS max 2017). How can I fix this problem without using an old version of the importer (The GriffonStudios one)?
