Thrall, Warchief of the Horde, and his wolf companion, Snowsong. Thrall was raised by Aedelas Blackmoore as a gladiator. Blackmoore hoped to use him to lead the orcs against the Alliance so that Blackmoore could rule Lordaeron. Thrall escaped with the help of Taretha Foxton however, and the internment camps were put on high alert. Thrall soon met Grommash Hellscream, chieftain of the Warsong Clan. Grom told him that his clan lived in the Alterac Mountains, and so Thrall went off to find his brothers. Drek'thar, elder of the Frostwolf Clan found Thrall half-frozen to death in the mountains and brought him back to the village, where Thrall learned shamanism at Drek'thar's side. One day, an orc wanderer came to the village and insulted Thrall, the Frostwolves, and the Warsong clan. Thrall challenged this outsider, but then the hermit was revealed to be Orgrim Doomhammer, Former Warchief. Doomhammer and Thrall rallied the uncaptured orcs and assaulted the internment camps, freeing the orcs. Thrall became warchief when Doomhammer was killed by at least five knights. Thrall went on to free all his people and found the nation of Durotar in the far-off land of Kalimdor.
