Village Fall Terrain Template

A tranquil village sits among a shadowed forest and winding rivers, yet to the north a malicious threat looms ever closer. A terrain template intended for a campaign map, but may find good use elsewhere.

A basic Blizzard-style village fall terrain. You can use this template as terrain for your maps. Made from scratch, it was originally intended for my campaign, which I'm too lazy to finish. Edit it all you want. Credit is appreciated.

Update: 9/6/09 - Changed terrain fog to R:89, G:43, B:43

The terrain has quite the blizzard feel to it, it looks very filled, lush and kind of realistic.
It contains a few placed buildings, such as a human tower and also 2 gold mines, but that can be disregarded.
Recommended for people who want to make a campaign scenario on this or an escort map. Could also be used for assassination type of games.

well, ive taken a look at your map, and here's a low amount of things that you could improve:
-replace the wheat(not in farms) by recolored river rushes (and by removing fourth variation).
-place rocks on rough dirt instead of rocks tile.
-try to avoid blizzard cliffs(even if you wanted to make it look more blizzard-ish).
-some rocks are badly placed, try removing all half-immersed rocks.
-don't put cattails everywhere, you should just placed them in a watery spot.
-the blighted area in the north west looks empty, put some felwood doodads, such as the "brazier skull" doodad, and some black colored river rushes(don't forget to remove fourth variation).
-the skulls near the graveyard don't fit, try replacing them by the felwood "skull pile" doodad.
-the small village right next to the graveyard could use a light source such as a lantern or a fire.
-I personally dislike the use of pathing blockers, try replacing them by a dense line of trees and some rocks clusters.
-put all lily pads in the water.

I'd recommend using an orange recolor of this model: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/...e-161133/?prev=search=pine%20tree&d=list&r=20 in the highlands
