Tree Wars 0.13

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This map I thought up of during the Nelf campaign on RoC (cheats...).
The objective of the map is to use your Ancients to destroy your enemy's headquarters. The trees, by the way, do not regrow.

As the map becomes more popular, I will further develop the map out of it's (current) basic stage. Note this is my first fully developed map.

ap0calypse: Rejected

The terrain is very empty (no tile variation, blizzard cliffs, nothing to make it look better such as environmental doodads).
The gameplay is very staightforward, you didn't really... do anything.
The units are all standard, apart from the main building.

I have added doodads and various tiles. The reason blizz cliff remains is that it is an effective blocker without having to go around with pathing blockers.
As my skills in triggering and such improve, I will make the game more functional.
Custom units have been added and are available from the Ancient of Treants. Although there's very few, I will add more later.

0.1
- Game created

0.11
- Uplifted terrain
- Added Treant Footman and Treant Mender

0.12
- Improved paths.
- Added Thorned Branches, researchable at Ancient of War.

0.13
- Paths improved further.
- Added Treant Caster. Trained at Ancient of Treants.
- Removed Ensnare from Treant Mender for not making any sense. Treant Caster has Roots to make up for this.

At a later date, I will add screenshots. For now, I'm filling the map out, albeit slowly.

Gonna check this. Improve the description by explaining more about the gameplay, giving credit to people , and generally just improving it.

Edit: To put it straight, the map has bad terrain, hardly any triggers, and generally doesn't have heart put into it. I like maps that have taken ages to make and not just a few hours.

Atmosphere - 1/5 - Map presentation is bad. No map preview. Despite the fact this map is about night elves and treants, the loading screen is a picture of humans fighting orcs. Change it.
Information is present in the quest menu, which is good. Btw, the title of the quest 'Object' should be 'Objective'. You don't need a quest title to tell the version of the map. Change the text of the loading screen's "Loading Screen Title" to Tree Wars v0.13.
Barely anything custom inside this map, and you call this "fully developed"? You know, for things like the Treant Caster, you can import other models.
Placement of icons are bad, eg. the buildings in the building card are scattered everywhere. And the Ancient of Treant's unit training icons are misplaced (it should be weakest/cheapest/basic unit from the left to strongest/most powerful to the right, not the reverse).
Gameplay - 1/5 - I'm sorry, but what you did was take the night elven buildings and removed everything else, and then put that in a poorly terrained 'map'.
The terrain is flat and boring, and I know you tried to make the map symmetrical...but the players on the right edge have more building space. Also instead of just covering the border of the map with vines, fill it in or block it off creatively.
You only had 1 race (the Treants) to choose from, and it didn't offer much of a techtree.
Just a bunch of ancients ripped from the NE race, and 5 random units, 1 of which also from the NE race. And the custom units didn't have any fancy abilities or attributes to compensate for the amount of units in the techtree.
I think the Wisps were overpriced slighty. Especially in the beginning, as they take a while to harvest lumber, and they are used up in building structures.
Get rid of that stupid Headquarters building, and instead spawn a Tree of Life in the beginning. This is to give a starting food cap and to remove the revealing thingy.
Fun - 2/5 - Yes, you can have a good time with the miniscule, uninspired techtree, however that doesn't mean you have put any effort into make this map unique and fun to play.
I mean, you've given players nothing to work with! They can't make up any fun strategies, they can't play in a variety of ways, they're stuck with an empty map and spamming Treant Footmen dudes.
There is no AI as well, which means no single-player.
Storyline - N/A - not story-driven.
Overall - 4/15 - [1/5] - I hope you keep improving on your mapping skills, as this map was appaulling. I know this is your first map, so don't fret. And if you're going to answer to my review by saying "this is just a wip and I will be updating it", there is a clear rule against works in progress or unfinished maps.
This map must be rejected because of the (lack of) content and the poor gameplay design/innovation.

Technical - Description is short (maybe because there isn't much to describe). The map type isn't Arena, it is Altered Melee. Category should be Medieval/Warcraft.

Thank you, honestly, for the very constructive feedback. By the way, by "fully developed map" I meant my first map which can actually be played in it's current state. I am in actual fact working on something much bigger, and hopefully better, so this is just a side thing for me to do.

Though I will (at some point) be able to fix most of the thing you have said.
