Time Travelers campaign
Campaign Info:

Inspired by the british series about time traveler I made this campaign as new experience in my war3 modding (my 1st campaign). The campaign contains loosely linked adventures of main Hero and his companion (6 missions). There are also 3 new playable mini races: Dalek, Cyberman and Legion (3 missions) where you build a base and play against AI. Last 10th map is a credit map. There are 3 levels of difficulty. Many custom abilities. The story is simply written, cinematics are not to long (I suppose;])

Connections between missions:

Mission 1. "Rose"
Gold, Platinum, Tardis Life, Royal Points are transfered to next mission.
If you take Elven Boots item you'll enable NightElfDruid quest for all next missions.
If you rescue real Mickey, he will be avaiable in mission 9
If you choose "Restore Autons" then number of restored Autons goes as Citizens to mission 9


Mission 2. "The Unquiet Dead"
Gold, Platinum, Tardis Life, Royal Points are transfered to next mission.
Anna's recipe is avaiable in all next missions.
Pick up Sapphire item from Druid if NightElfDruid quest is enabled.
Number of living Knights, Footmans and Archers goes to next mission


Mission 3. "Tooth and Claw"
Gold, Platinum, Tardis Life, Royal Points are transfered to mission 7.
If NightElfDruid quest is enabled then Druid will enable Emerald item
Number of saved Monks /max 4/ goes to mission 9


Mission 4. "Dalek"
Gold and Minerals at the end of this mission are transfered as starting resources to mission 5
7 wisps colors: may enable Cybermans as your ally in mission 5
Tank and Titan will be aviable in mission 5 if you rescue 2 imprisoned units in this mission


Mission 5. "The Satans Pit"
Tank and Titan aviability depends on previous mission quest
You may play with Cyberman as ally /wisps color pattern quest/
If you destroy Cyberman base then in mission 6 Cyberman base will be removed
If you play with Cyberman as ally then in mission 6 Cyberman base will be established.

Mission 6. "Rise of the Legion"
Cyberman base will be removed if in previous mission Cybermans were destroyed by Daleks.


Mission 7. "General Nobunaga"
Gold, Platinum, Tardis Life, Royal Points are transfered to next mission.
If NightElfDruid quest is enabled then Druid will enable BlueCrystal item at the end of the mission.
Protect Druid from attackers during mission.


Mission 8. "Tassadar"
Gold, Platinum, Tardis Life, Royal Points are transfered to next mission.
it is possible to get 2 RoyalPoints in this mission.
Accept Tassadar's quest to:
a. get Tassadar as ally in the future /2of3 parts of quest must be completed/
b. get 1 additional RoyalPoint /2of3 parts of quest must be completed/
c. get Cannon unit aviable in next mission /3of3 parts of quest must be completed/

Mission 9. "Dooms Day"
Availability of Mickey depends on mission 1 quest
Availability of Tassadar / Cannon depends on previous mission 8 quest
Cannon also needs GemAmber item (merged from 3 precious stones from Night Elf Druid)
Number of saved Monks from mission 3; each monk give +4% chance to ressurect dying allied unit
Restored Autons from mission 1; will be added to city population

i only played this for "The Satan Pit" part and i must say i am dissapointed.I was expecting something really cool since i actually saw the episode but it was just another melee battle to introduce the "Legion" as just another faction.

I think it could be hard to do in war3,

Wasn't sure to write this or not but.. damn it..
I'm not impatient person, but after some comments above(and not only those), and long waiting (very first relase of the campaign was about begining of september, then deleted and uploaded easier version) I feel like a oppressive, an uninvited guest on map section. Newer maps gets approved, but mine and for example Majkowski's still are at the very end of the list of pending maps. Just a thought..

There's nothing going on there. It's just a silly fanfic mingle of universes (Doctor Who, Star Wars, StarCraft and whatnot).
It however has some diversity in terms of gameplay.

-all chapters are available from the start

chap1:
-music plays on the sound channel...
-terrain is pretty much flat
-so those green creeps only attack Rose!? Why?
-there is no train, no vehicles
-the green guys started running for some reason a while after Rose got her weapon. I guess they only attack in big numbers
-units can go through the fences near the railroad
-units selected during cinematic mode

undead level:
-why was the quest targeted on Anna if the Doctor didn't even know her!?
-maps have no black mask
-terrain is a little less flat
-how do they know the monsters morph from that distance?
-the Town Hall cannot select the buyer
-there's a unit named Zombie2
-enemy units may return to the portal regions and stack up there
-how are you supposed to win without any more troops coming?
-once the Arcane Towers are all bought the other towers can't be bought anymore...
-the heroes are so weak compared to the enemy: their attack speed is slow and they don't have eneough HPs to compensate for it
-there's not enough time to reach the zombies when they mutate especially when they are protected by other troops
-the vaccine optional quest can't be finished because the plants in the northwest don't appear in the inventory like the ones in the northeast
-so, suddenly there was a queen and they knew about her and they just wanted to meet her!?

queen level:
-rest for two minutes? Like actually two minutes?
-suddenly, let's find Marksman...
-and then suddenly, help Monks!
-the Queen didn't even say she was ready to start walking again...
-the royal entourage just goes on and doesn't really stop to fight the boss
-cinematic mode needs skip option
-the last Lycan boss can be avoided if the Queen reaches the end point
-where were the Monks anyway?

robots level:
-buildings don't have any hotkeys, at least not in their description
-again flat terrain

satan level:
-Cyberman Plasma Marine has selection issues
-there is a slot on the armour of the Emperor. How is it filled/upgraded?
-destroying the the Cyberman base won't mark the optional quest as failed
-Daleks talk like humans

legion level:
-why does the Legion Beholder have mana?
-that flat terrain but so beautifully detailed
-so, there were two opened portals just like that, especially to possible Legion allies? Why wouldn't the others try to negotiate with those people?
-the Roof optional quest should specify that the Negotiator is needed to activate the Wagon
-units need hotkeys in their description in the buildings that train them
-I guess you can't make the walls break down too like the roofs to make it look more realistic. Units just get through a small door inside
-the level can be won without building the Demon Gate

Nippon level:
-so, Tardis can't be moved in the allied base now?
-the enemy has the same hero too, named Nobunaga Oda
-where's the druid and what's his role?
-the neutral hostile units in the northwest may dragged to attack the brown AIs barracks
-heroes may regenerate at the enemy fountain
-everyone heads for the next battle to the northeast except Nobunaga, Hideyoshi and Shibata that remain near the enemy fountain

Tassadar level:
-Tardis does not come with full life from a level to another
-Qui-Gon "Gin" is semiinvisible but he is a prisoner? Actually how are the Jedi prisoners with their lightsabers on?
-this doesn't feel like a rescue. It's just a kill the units on the map level
-OK, I guess Tassadar doesn't want to play along to help his allies escape. He thinks it's better to experience nirvana
-you save Tassadar that proves to be Yoda and gives you a test!?
-Beasts can drag the hero through the walls thus forcing him to repeat regain some parts of the road

doomsday:
-cinematic mode needs skip...
-it's pointless to send units one by one. How can the troops gathered near the fountain be sent?
-loaded the game and the waypoints did't want to change. The troops only went to the fountain... even the arrow signs disappeared...
-Legion Obelisks don't really have a death animation
-after the enemy bases were destroyed the Rose died message and the quest message were shown three times. Actually, I think it shows infinite times until the Doc goes to Tardis. But when I get inside and try to leave the mission, it says: "not all quests are finished"...

credits:
-is that text hard to read or does it even catch the viewer's attention? Use some colours or spaces, something. It's readable in the quest log, at least

It could have been a lot more interesting in what the/a story is concerned.

Hey did you notice that there is "Connections between missions" tab? Some answers certainly can be found there. Yeah, maybe I'm not the best story teller, I agree (my english is on low level unfortunatelly). Story is very simple writen, and should be improved. That's true.

Yes, last map (Dooms day) has a bug that appears only when game is loaded. Map is messed up then.. I didnt know that..thanks for finding it. That one reason is enough to not approve this campaign in its present form.

Some issues like
-it's pointless to send units one by one. How can the troops gathered near the fountain be sent?
are good to open discussion about them and ideas I use in maps, but most of your review.. hey, take a look at your review: don't you think it's a list of "things I don't like" ?
You're musician? And not a single word about imported music? ..about custom spells.. custom armor/damage table? Was a gameplay accetpable?..

This campaign is on pending section from 5 months.
I see no reason to work on it again.

Especially after so motivating comments.

The language is not a barrier when you've got free dictionaries on the net. Moreover your English is way better than what I've seen in other campaigns.

That one reason is enough to not approve this campaign in its present form.
It does make it acceptable, as it's the last level. All stages until that very end of the last level can be played.

Yeah, the gameplay is fun, sometimes gets repetitive, but you've got diverse levels to compensate. I told you, the main deal is the story.

I see no reason to work on it again

One more thing. I don't usually comment about the goodies in a map/campaign unless they're really impressive or something. I'm usually limiting my "critique" to what needs "fixing".

First mission, pretty chill music, nice intro. To nitpick, enable cinematic mode and fadeout over 0 seconds at map init, so the hero portrait is hidden.
I looked a bit at your triggers to, saw no problems really. It's just, there seems to be a few debug triggers left active? Like the "Auton is going to attack rose" message.
Would have been nice if the tardis could become invisible or something, as I have an invisible skill on Ruby, but if I use it the enemies just charge for the tardis instead.

City is chill.

Will continue more tomorrow.

"Auton is going to attack rose" message is intentional.
Tardis has mana shield ability to protect it for short time. Just watch around Tardis for Autons before you go away. Also look at minimap from time to time cause citizens are morphing into Autons randomly and can attack Tardis while you are away.
Walk into Tardis to fast regenerate health.
And be aware that Tardis' life value is moved to next mission always. And you cannot repair Tardis.

Please note that our heroes can attack trees.
Press "A" (or 'attack' button) and target tree.
I cannot promise but if I will edit this campaign, I'll remember your proposal about potatoes and other vegetables:)

nice update, i can not play chapter one - Rose. Anytime loading to ~50%, war3 closes automatically. I play at TFT v1.26 in custom campaign.

ga_xjnk, it must be client-side issue, please try set video to higer values, is it happend only on Time travelers camapign? other maps / campaigns runs fine?

Chapter 7 has problem ,can't finish this quest even I have done everything.Fix please !

To finish chapter7 you have to destroy all enemy structures/units. Are you sure you did it. Theres one enemy barrack hiden. Doc and Rose must have thier items: Sonic Screwdriver and Firewand: to start Tardis. If you still got problems tell us more.

Thank you for replying ! Shame that I didn't see that barrack ! Spending on LOL,DOTA 2,HON,MOBA etc... make me like a newbie.And about chapter 9,can't finnish.It said "destroy 3 enemy base (finnish) " and next line is "come back Tardis to finish mission "but when I came back nothing happen and even when I pressed "Tardis departure" ,it sad "not all quest finnish" (red color).( This website should have "insert Image from your PC instead of URL" ) .Hope I was not wrong like chapter 7 .

you are right about 9 mission, bug is now fixed, I just forgot change one boolean flag, and disable periodical check for alive enemies. I guess I made 9 mission 1.03ver changes at night:D

Good campaign, really good idea to let the side quests have consequences in later missions, but I didn't like the last mission very much, I don't get the point to create units if you are not going to control them?

I found a fatal bug however, in my case I couldn't load the campaign, so I had to repeat and finish the campaign in one sitting, every time that I try to reload it will give me a "Fatal error" and will kick me out of the game.

But the map design and the choice of music are good, specially the music that adds mysticism, also good enviroment design.

Played on v1.27b

I've uploaded the entire campaign in Youtube - the only issue is that this one is somewhat cut more drastically so music may seem abrupt, as well as cheats to make sure some sections work.
The detailed bugs and solutions (just for reference) will be seen in the comments.
