Throne of Azora: Revelation 1.02

The Story:

The Prince of Azora- Prince Agamand has chosen four people to be his personal bodyguards during a war with the Swit Empire; Ethan Longdarion, Sardan Roux, Sir Mogyus and Kobo. They must overcome their personal issues for the greater good and to serve their Prince in need. Their goal is simple - to kill the Swit General Gavinrad, who is responsible for the Swit superiority in this war. Without him the forces of Azora will swiftly claim victory. It is not a simple task however, as Gavinrad outsmarts the team at every turn so far. It is up to you, to decide the fate of Azora and of your companions.

A direct continuation of the series Throne of Azora: The Beginning. Do not worry, as it is not at all necessary to watch it in order to enjoy and understand Throne of Azora: Revelation. Nevertheless I still recommend doing such in order to get the full experience :)


Gameplay:

An action RPG with focus on the story. It features a unique combat system (inspired by Dark Souls) that focuses on quick reflexes and strategy. There is no auto-attack, you have to do it manually. You can hold block not to take damage or use the Counter ability at the precisely the right time to parry it AND deal damage to your opponent. Different enemies have different types of attack habits or even special abilities which you have to dodge yourself (or take the hit :) ).
All team members are be playable at different parts of the story with every character varying from the other. (Not Prince Agamand unfortunately :( )

Personal Note:

Unfortunately my PC has completely broken down recently, losing all my work on The Beginning series (as well as on Throne of Azora 1.10). So it would be a LOT of work to make Episode 4 happen again, but seeing as it didn't attract as much attention as I hoped, I decided not to. Sorry to the fans of the episodic tales :(
But I really wanted to finish telling this story, so I knew that in a map form it would reach more people and that is what I decided to do. Bearing that in mind, it is not as long as the original Throne of Azora with only an hour of gameplay. I hope you will enjoy it ^^

1. Sometimes the camera doesn't pan to Ethan in the tutorial remaining on the other heroes after cinematic mode is turned off.
2. Counter is a joke. You have to start using it before the attack animation of the enemy is even underway.
3. Play music through its proper channel not as sound.
4. I'm not sure how they knew the tent of the prince and got in without making any sound or the prince alerting. If they were so good at sneaking, why didn't they capture the others too or even killed them all?
5. I don't know, with all the paving and no green (grass), those houses look like 20th century blocks.
6. Time still has the food description.
7. Could have been interesting to do more stuff in the city than 2 quests. I loved the peaceful gameplay though. Shows you don't have to kill or hit something or someone for fun.
8. Some skip cinematic to the chase would be good especially for things like the drinking contest.
9. Actually you hit the key not click it. You should specify that you have to hit the key before the word changes (also use some colour; for each key differently maybe) not that you have to hit it faster as if you have to keep pressing the same one until it changes. Would be nice for the keys to be random so you don't learn the pattern by heart.
10. Ebriation lasts until you meet your cousin :p
11. Always the sewer, eh?
12. I guess, you don't have money for every answer so you have to decide when to give gold and when not to.
13. A hint for those who might not realize early that you need to select the unit with an exclamation mark on its head to talk to it when nearby.
14. Leave town region stretching too far from the gate.
15. Saving take a lot of time to minutes after playing in the "Capol".
16. There some issue with tiles ending as triangle peaks to black.
17. Ethan is selected during the cinematic scene in the kitchen and when Gavinrad comes too.
18. And it crashed trying to save on the second Gavinrad phase... There are memory issues either from leaks or I don't know.. I think it might also be because of Gavinrad's spells (special fx, variables, regions not being deleted in time etc.). Anyways, visible frames afterwards too which means game lagging.
19. At least the previous save file loaded. You gotta make skip scenes possible.
20. Ah good! There is a waypoint system.
21. I think Kobo has no hero glow (seen in the cinematic scene before Gavinrad dies).
22. Not sure how you're supposed to fight more soldiers at once when you can only defend one shot.
23. The prince and Ethan started moving even though they were attacked just east of the big statue. Also, the allies don't take any damage, only the prisoners do.
24. Some enemy units might just remain still far back if they use their defend and you run away.
25. Gardorel is bugged. He runs after I hit him once and returns some time afterwards, then might attack the prince instead of me even if Sardan is near him. Well, you could have used that to make him have a charge ability (blue ground FX). He constantly does the same thing by the way, coming to Sardan hitting and then hitting the prince and running away some distance, waiting and repeating.
26. Some colour on the names for credits wouldn't hurt.
27. 20 years later, the game crashed...

The Swit scout saw them at the burial commemoration. He possibly recognized the prince. I'm not sure about the rest I asked though :p

Thank you, although Sardan dies and the camera gets on him so I can't really see anything but transmissions. Should pause or remove unnecessary units when needed. Also, user control was on and I could move the screen.

Yeah, overall I liked it. You know I've played the first one and watched all episodes too!
The atmosphere is very well made. There is high immersion level. I've always digged the fall theme in this medieval setting.

Thanks man, really appreciate all the support. What do you mean you can't see anything? Didn't a black and white flashback appear?
I got teleported to when the heroes are out of the chapel or capitol (?) and are supposed to get to the eastern gate. Some seconds later the scene with Ethan and Sardan parting is shown but afterwards, Sardan is killed by the soldiers when the credits and last scene run.

Well, I downloaded it recently and I must say, Great Game! I definitely recommend you guys out there to download this.
Rating:
Terrain : 3.5/5
Good terrain, but at times it may be a little boring. Don't mind though, I liked it.
Gameplay : 5/5
I loved the new controls like attack, block and counter attack! Superb, cause I love a change from original Warcraft 3 controls. That's why two of my favourite Warcraft 3 campaigns are Warden and TEoP Sechiron Rises. I will have to add this one too! :)
Story : 3/5
Well, here comes the somewhat bad part. I kind of do not like the story. Don't mind but, I hate sad endings. The Throne of Azora also ended with a tone of sadness with Sammy dying which I hate. Sorry but I had to give you 3 out of 5.
Custom stuff : 4/5
All the spells and abilities are... Okay. I don't have to say anything.

In addition to this, I will deduct - 1 for the cinematic movement, cause sometimes when Ethan speaks and also another - 1 for the crash if I save and load. (Man, this is a huge map)
Overall : 13.5/20

Keep up the good work because I will love to play another map from Tyci.
