Map Info:

A story driven game with RPG features, which takes place in the Kingdom of Azora, a medieval world with little fantasy elements. Take control of Ethan, a veteran soldier and his companion Sammy, a dog.
The game begins with our hero coming back from the army to his home town, but not everything is as he left it. After the Mayor died, his daughter Sarah took over and she can't keep things under control - bandits have begun raiding the nearby farmers, which makes food scarce. Ethan wants to help return things to normal but this is only the beginning of his troubles.

Gameplay:

During the game you will be making important decisions to the story, which have their consequences, so choose wisely. Almost every main and side quest will have this feature.
It's an open world game with many NPCs doing their own daily routines, while you travel around the world, discovering hidden routes and caves.
The main aspect of Throne of Azora is its story. While beginning as a simple quest, it slowly increases the scale of events. The story takes around 1,5 hours to complete without completing any sidequests.

However, there are many small points reducing the game experience,
like
misplaced bridges, too small camera borders, so one can see the background sky, strange building splat ( lumber mill) and so on.
tyci, you could work more on this map.



  • Remove/ hide lumber mill splat
  • Improve the water falls in the opening cinematic ( see our tutorial section)
  • Increase the map/camera borders, so players cannot see the background sky ( you can manually increase your map size)
  • Add a text why the road is blocked
  • Fix bridges
  • Limit range when talking to people ( it is strange to start a conversation from the other site of the screen, isn't it)
  • Make cinematics skipable
  • Fix the green icon of the The New Mayor quest
  • Think about a custom road texture, the rock texture does not fit really, what do you think ?
  • Prevent kids in the first town from running through fences and barrels
  • When Ethan dies, you could move Sammy to the respawn location and you coul sopawn Sammy to Ethan

lovely game! but i found a bug.. the mine collapsed and i died.. suddenly i was in prison with king agamand.. strange!
 
The map's pretty cool, but I'm afraid there are some bugs. Hahahaha, at the very first part where I get to see the Mayor, I got so mad at her that I actually killed her without any resistance at all. I suggest you make the Mayor invulnerable at first, then when the uprising quest comes up, make her vulnerable to Ethan. Anyways, when I got to the uprising, the Mayor's dialogue is still playing even though she was already dead from the start.

That was really fun and the plot line was great. Loved the camera angle change on the bridge too.
I think you need to do something with the Swit ambush though as I kinda ran away and then picked them off one by one and didn't realize what was supposed to happen. I ended up using Bert to finish it off.

i really enjoyed this now.. i encountered no serious bugs.. the pathing of the citizen ambush failed a bit, but besides that.. awesome, nice Story, nice quests, nice skills! thanks for making =)

one thing: the area in the middle on the right side of the river is accessable through the north.. but its empty!

I have tested the map now. There are a lot of beautiful places in your map (i especially love that dungeon with the crazy miners). But there is still some terrain that should be improved. Add some greek or roman temples, and a nice dark fortress of demons to make it more interesting.

All right updated the map with most of your advice, but unfortunately i cannot increase the map size. I could move everything a bit closer but It would take a massive amount of time which isn't worth fixing the background sky that you can see only at the start of the game.
Cinematics are now skippable except the ones that have choices, which would make them impossible to skip.
As for you last point I think it's a bad idea as Sammy can still fight on after Ethan has died.

The rest were valid points, which I hope I have fixed.

An alternate way to hide the background is to import a simple black plane with a length overlapping everything outside the camera borders.

Hm, true, but it is a bit odd to have to get them together again.

I approved the map, as it is playable. However, there are still many points,
some I mentioned in my previous moderation, like the misplaced bridges and still partly the initial waterfalls, thus a rating of 2/5.
Greatly improving the terrain results into a rating increase.

I enjoyed the map. I did found one bug, the disease troubles quest wouldn't start. I also thought that the pauses in between the attacks in the swit siege were a bit to long.
The siege was also not very challenging which was a bit disappointing.

Overall I thought that the map was well made and a nice way to spend an evening.

Good nonlinear gameplay (what really rare in warcraft 3 maps), cool history and quests, and interesting world. I like play in this map in second time and see other line of history. 6/5

Do you planning make sequel of this story?

Glad you two liked it;
I needed to make the siege quite easy because it is possible to not do any side quests, which would make Ethan and Sammy much weaker and the quest has a precise region which you need to walk through, I will make it bigger in the next version of course.

While I have teased the possibility of a sequel I don't know if I will have the time and energy to make a Throne of Azora 2. Right now I want to focus on upgrading this map.

I too like make campaign with nonlinear history, but i am not very skilled in triggers.

i have completed the map .. and found two bugs
1 - after killing the mayor and the cinematic goes the messenger keep entering and exiting through the portal ( the gate ) and never end the cinematic ( i had to restart the game twice as it happened again )
2 - i finished the cult thing mission before leaving with the army .. when i was searching for scouts i found a cult member who transformed into the cult leader ( i dont remember his name ) then the cult quest ( which i finished ) updated

This map is amazing! I got so much positive emotes playing this. Finally, found great single-player map. If my ending scene is sole, Im fucking hate you author =(.

Very great map. I love how you give player choices to play.

I have problem tho.

Right now I'm stuck at "To War!" quest. Nothing seems to proceed to the next step. I have found mounted knight with exclamation mark but he won't talk to me. Any hint ?

Sorry for the bugs, have to fix them soon. Try this:


1. You have to stand closer to the knight
or
2. Try going up the hill where Agamand is looking at the army and stand next to him with Ethan. And left-click on the Mounted Knight now.

Encounter another problem

I have already killed the scout, nothing happens. Kill everything including animals and still can't proceed to next stage

Yep I mean that and killed it already :p Somehow the quest didn't update.

Also southwest of that forest, there is small hole between tree that small units (like my footman) could walk through to other camp. You might want to add more tree or surround that area with unplayable.

I found a bug ! When you refuse to help the stablesmaster retrieve Bill the horse and then you change your mind, the game goes to cinematic state, but no dialogues and you can look freely but can't move. This cost me to replay the whole map :(

The quest with the woman that wanted to kill the boar is also glitched. Pressing Escape would stuck the game into the cutscene

I'm sorry, but unfortunately that bug can't be bypassed. I have updated the map if you wish to try again c;

The two extra companions you can get need one of two improvements:

-They need to be revivable

-They need to be heroes with extra abilities and better stats

When one of the Cult's buildings explodes it kills Both Heroes and their Ally!!!

DEFINITELY needs to be FIX!!!

-Maybe add some extra creeps

-Raise the Level limit by a little and add Extra Attributes (The Yellow Cross Passive Ability)

Awesome map! Too bad I sided with the wrong brother. :( Hey! You tricked us! Such innocence, wow. Yea there are bugs that you need to fix (refer to Moonreaper666's reply) and maybe some improvements (except the allies being heroes, just make them revivable and some important role). Overall, 5/5!

EDIT:

During some cinematics, Sammy won't stop and continue attacking the enemy on the cinematic. It is really boring to have dialogues of a dead person in front of me.

Making them revivable is a good idea actually, will work on it, but they will not be heroes with skills etc. simply because the companions aren't as important as Ethan and Sammy. Plus controlling 3 heroes can be difficult.
Since you finish the game around level 8-11 the yellow cross isn't really needed.
I don't really have where to put the creeps and the cult building will be fixed.

I like this one, it made me cry at the end. Maybe add something for Lopez as his loyal friend when he survives the uprising?

Great map! I really enjoyed it!
There were a few bugs, like my hero dying from enemies during cinematics or how I managed to kill Prince Goren with Lopez only entering the palace.

I will look into the boar quest, but the second bug was already fixed in version 1.05

What is Throne of Azora?
A story driven game with RPG features. About story it are interesting ,but for me i don't like many RPG games only a few ,well by now my little list have another game in it yes it's right Throne of Azora.

For a final.
Well how i said i don't like all RPG games only a few as you know this map are in that list ,but only for thous who likes this genre of game i could recommend this map.

Now THAT is a called an rpg.Man!it was awesome.must have spent a lot of time.found no bugs.but the ending was not good.i cried a lot.but i am excited to see the sequel the mysterious figure and all..just thinking about it makes me excited.

OK good map good map i like it found a bug in the Miners Peril quest i went into the mine and kill all the angry miners but after i talk to Greg i've decided not to save him but try to go to the end of mine and try to blow up the barrels so Greg can't suicde.....but he was already there so i don't even need to save him at all ? also i'm still scouting the forest i pick the swit scout off 1 by one then a cinematic show up where all my guards die and Ethan die as well then he said "Sammy....I'm sorry" then the screen went black and i'm completely stuck in a cinematic

I played through the map and i have to say its quiet enjoyable and the terrain is good(above the avarege you see in here anyway) some issues i had with the map are:
1.After the revolt quest line another bard reswpans and they become two and thats kinda wierd xD
2.Quests are pretty basic/and scarce for a map this big i thing you could have added some more and in-debth quets
3.There is no tip that shows us the bards acually heal i learned that during the end.
4.No matter how hard i tried i could not assasinate the herald from the shadows
5.Spells lack creativity.
6.Even tho terrain is pretty good...I feelt that you could have done a better job with the town(the one we first reach) in fact it looks more like a village in its current state not a town
7.Despite being into campaign section...The map does not show when i put it in the campaign folder but when i put it in the regular map folder it does...Might wanna check that

I played the map twice while making different decisions in both playthroughs.

I have to say that unfortunately, I found the whole "different decisions" aspect of the game to be rather underwhelming. The decisions don't change the game all that much.
Even the main story decisions. I would have thought that siding with a different prince would make the story take a different turn, or at least make Ethan and Sammy go to different areas. I was very disappointed.
I think part of the reason for that would be the fact that the game is rather easy. I had no difficulties with any section of the game regardless of my decisions. In relation to that, I never needed potions, which rendered the shops in the game completely useless.

On that note, gold was also completely useless in the game, since there was no point where you could buy something more useful than anything you could find from quests and drops. The most pointless item would be the teleport scrolls, since there's no reason to go back to areas. Although, even if they WERE helpful, the fact that only Ethan can carry any items at all meant that anything not helpful to combat was just a waste of an item slot.

The siege near the end of the game seems poorly designed. I don't know what the lose condition is, but I lost all my men aside from the archers as well as all the citizens but still didn't fail. The archers, Ethan, and Sammy did most of the work. The invulnerable towers seem very overpowered.

I'd also like to note some bugs:
  • In the barracks late in the game, there are some barrels behind the bed. Making Sammy use his pouncing move on one of the barrels caused him to somehow end up in the palace.
  • My companion kept punching the scout during the cutscene and killed him.
  • One of the siege towers at the south wall got stuck and never released the units it was carrying.
  • Ethan and Sammy will stop gaining exp from enemies with levels (like bandits) at level 5. They start getting exp from these enemies again after they receive exp from an enemy with no level (like werewolves).
Overall, I guess I might have gone into this RPG with too high expectations for the decisions mechanic. Aside from that though, other gameplay aspects of the map also detracted from my experience. 3/5 from me.

Side note, I don't think this map should be tagged as a Campaign. I was under the impression that campaigns had to be a different file type, and needed to consist of multiple maps in one.
