Deep in the mountains of Icecrown, Lady Nightsorrow awaits heroes foolish enough to challenge her. She shall summon the hordes of the Scourge to blot out all resistance to her master's dominion. Are you prepared to face such a foe? Bring a friend along to challenge the Scourge at their doorstep in The Perilous Pass.

Dalren the Conjurer was an apprentice mage in Dalaran. When the city was destroyed he escaped with his life and a purpose: to cleanse the world of the Undead Scourge. Tracking the Death Knight Arthas Menethil to Icecrown Glacier, he witnessed the titanic battle between Illidan Stormrage and Arthas from afar. Fleeing back to the Eastern Kingdoms he traveled to Stormwind to enlist aid. Now he has returned with an army. He has guided the heroes to the gates of Icecrown Citadel. The rest is up to them.

Lady Nightsorrow
was a warrior in the Royal Guard of Lordaeron on the day Arthas slew his father. She was defeated by Marwyn and Falric but brought to Arthas to be turned. He claimed her soul with Frostmourne and raised her as a Death Knight, bestowing necromantic powers that she took to eagerly. Now she guards the Southern approach to Icecrown Citadel itself, with thousands of Scourge at her back. All is not as it seems at Icecrown, though.

- Hurls a stream of damaging plague at a target enemy that jumps to nearby enemies.

Entry for the 17th Mini-Mapping Contest.

There are no custom models on this map but there are many imported sound files. The Female Death Knight and Uther voiceovers from Warcraft III Reforged were edited in Audacity by Symphoneum. The Yogg'Saron voiceovers were ported from World of Warcraft. It is recommended that this map be played by two players but there is a basic AI set up for Single Player as well. Three separate maps will be released. They will be easy, normal, and hard modes. The easy mode will have slower creep generation and larger mana/hp pools. The normal mode will have large mana/hp pools but faster creep generation. The hardmode will have fast creep generation and mana/hp for player heroes will be cut by 1/3. Easy and normal modes have been tested in single player mode. Hard probably will require two players.

This map was made using Warcraft III Reforged on the latest build and should probably be played with that.

Set to Substandard based on reviews from: Mini Mapping Contest #17 - Results Edited the map tags as they were too spammy.
Any difference between the three uploads? Should be only 1 if the versions aren't considerably different.
The stats for the spawns, bosses, and heroes differ between the three. In hard the heroes have significantly less HP, the ally spawns are slower paced and the spawn timer for the enemies is a lot faster. Normal mode has faster enemy spawns but the Heroes don’t have reduced health. In easy mode the spawns are balanced and the heroes have better health.

At least I think that’s how it is. Honestly, it’s been awhile since I made them. But yeah, that’s the gist of it. If you want to make a map that allows you to choose between the three be my guest but I do not know how to do that. I figured you could use the easy mode to just enjoy the map and learn it. Then play the harder modes for a real challenge. I suppose I thought they were harder than they actually are.

Why not make the difficulty an option to choose from in one map? Making separate maps only for that seems rather superfluous. Also, the maps have the exact same name.

I can try to learn how to program that and then implement it. As far as the naming, I uploaded them with different names so I’m not sure why it did that. I will look into that and reupload. I might just leave the hard mode up and delete the others in preparation for merging. Sorry for the upload issues.
