The Defense of Dros Delnoch
An Castle Defense Map

The Nadir Warlord, Ulric, has united the Nadir tribes to an strong nation, to invade the Drenai Empire. The leader of the Drenai had cut down on the military, and sent back many of the soldiers to their home. And now, the only thing that can stop Ulric is the mighty castle, Dros Delnoch. If they fail, the Nadir will spread across the Drenai Empire to murder and plunder Drenai. If they succeed to hold Dros Delnoch for a couple of days, Count Therpmos will come with reinforcements and drive the Nadir back. The Drenai's are highly out numbered, the Nadir's army consists of more than half a million soldiers. While the Drenai's only are a couple of thousands.
But the Drenai's has Heroes with them too, Rek The Bronzecount, count over the castle And they also have Battle Priest, priest that are good in battle and have healing powers.
What will happend? Will the Drenai Empire fall? Or will it survive?

One team, defends the Castle, Dros Delnoch, against the other team.
The Defenders of Dros Delnoch has to defend the throne to all costs. They will win when the timer ends, if the throne still is alive.
The Attacking Nadir has to destroy the throne to all costs, if they don't destroy the throne before the timer ends, they lose.

Nadir (Attackers) Tips:
To win you need to train command units, archers and swordsmen. Keep the commanders living and near the fighting units, the commanders will give bonuses, they cost alot to build.
Try to hitting the walls when no melee fighters are nearby, then the archers on the wall will die quickly. Use ladders as often you can, don't give them any time to recover.

Defenders of Dros Delnoch (Defenders) Tips:
You should also use command units, archers and swordsmen. Keep atleast one commander at every wall, to give bonuses for the archers. Put melee figters at the gates and where the ladders can be setted up. Archers have almost no protection, they die easy and fast in melee combat, protect them with melee fighters!

I got the ideas from a book, that's possible why you haven't heard of Dros Delnoch before.
The map isn't exactly like the book, the castle in the map isn't like the real Dros Delnoch, The real is much, much moore mightier. I have it as my loading screen.

Normaly Delnoch just have 10 walls and a city at the top...

But i will try your map !

It's a map with promise, you could improve the game play beyond spamming units. You should also improve the terrain and toss in some doodads.
My first and last game involved 1v1. The near-end involved the remaining good guys, my hero and the king, fighting off wave after wave of troops (which is really sad if you think about it). I was going to win until the king was lured out of the throne room and troops overwhelmed my single hero and killed the throne. lost by 30 seconds! :gg:

It's the idea, but I will do so he will teleport himself back if he are running too far away.

alright now im checking the map and will give you suggestions(the list will get updated the whole time):
1.Change the archer's icon.
2.Alot of the icons don't have disbtns.
3.Make custom spells.
4.Reduce the hero build time.
5.Improve the terrain a bit more.
6.Improve all the tooltips, they're too short and i would suggest making them colorful.
7.The game leaks heavily when the hero is built.
8.There is no next wave when the first ai wave is defeated.Edit:nvm^^, yet there is a big delay.
9.I was impressed, when i opened the gate, then 1 allied ai unit that was outside automatically found its way back:D
alright im finished now, review coming up soon.
(i will give you the review when i'm finished testing.)

Combat:2.5/5, The Combat is OK, but add triggered spells.
Sounds/effects/skills:3/5, Well you didn't predifine the music, which is important in a defense map. The skills as i said, need to be redone, you need to add triggered spells.
Terrain:2/5, well the castle's terrain is acceptable, but it can still be improved and outside the castle.....well that part needs more improvements^^
Gameplay/Fun factor3/5, Maybe add some special events , add more special effects etc.
Overall:10.5/20, yes the rating is almost near the "bad" status, but i'm sure that if you fix the things i told you then i'll give it a better rating(youll have to contact me again.).Good luck! :)
Suggestions:
-Fix the disbtns
-Add triggered spells
-Predifine the music
-Fix the tooltips(remake them, their too short and maybe colorize them)
-Reduce the long delay btw each enemy ai wave

Mmm... i think that this castle needs some towers.Don't ya agree?.And defender and attackers don't have a hero.If there is that will be good idea.In the end i like your screenshot :D

I tested it only in singleplayer.

First : Nadir =/= Barbarians ! Omg !
I don't know if you did it but you shall add different warrior for each nadirs clan.( i don't know clan name in english ...)
You should add the 30 as an elite guard controlled by a player. In my mind each player should control a different type of unit. One all the bowmen, another the militia, 2 controls the guards and one the knights, to force players cooperate.
Next, i think that your terrain need improvement. I think that your wall in too big and not long enough. With a second gate (so made the 2 passages smaller ?). A lever who can be destoyed to unlock the gate can be cool.
Like in the book, you may allow players to block the gates with rock (who could be destroyed like a gate, but it's more cool =D)
Actually i don't like the gate model you used, but why not :p(speaking of the first gate)
and finally i think that you should make this map like in the book( but with less wall, or directly starting at the third .. i don't remember his name, but it's something bad for defender.) because a map with a story is always more cool than a generic map, with "only" defenders and attackers and some heros without background. It's why prefer playing "Siege of helms deep" than this map.

And sorry for all my english grammar mistake.

I understand exactly what you mean, yes, I failed a bit when it comes to the terrain, I've though about redoing the whole castle. Adding all the walls, just like the book, and your idea about the players controlling different types of units sounds good, I'll problaby try that.
But, I got school to do you know, and redoing the terrain will take alot of time, so I'll do it when I get the time to do it.
