The Bloodline VII

After a... year long(?) hiatus, I finally got around to revisiting my work here at the Hive.

The Bloodline VII.

Episode 7:
Previously...
The Bloodline Seal is faltering. The First Demon's imprisonment draws quickly to an end and the Binders, the guardians of the Seal, are scattered and lost.
Three have been rallied, and the last is dead. Without them all, the spell to restore the Seal cannot be cast and hope is lost. However, rumor has it that an elusive pool hidden in the mountain caves near Stowcroft, the winterland village, has the power to reverse death. The Binders have no choice but to venture a gamble, for if the legend is true, there may yet be hope.
Arriving at the village, the Binders discovered the city in ruins and the bodies nowhere to be found. The same night, they are attacked by dark spirits. Their companion, Tera, is captured and spirited away with the demons. Now they go not only to complete their circle, but to save their innocent friend.

An amazing cinematic, filled with almost only action, starting off in a mysterious way with an amazing AC soundtrack, then leading to great attack animations, spells and camera angles.
You've definitely improved your camera coordination during combat scenes!
The environment as always looks astonishing, very atmospheric, moody and it looks very realistic.
The storyline becomes even more interesting, this one got a bit more emotional and I think you executed the final part of the cinematic well, not making it boring at all.
Overall this is a superb cinematic, with just a few minor bad details, like some of the spawned ghouls in the beginning floating and some camera movements which cause some of the doodads to disappear.

Can you point out where they are in particular? I fixed some rocks in the cave they walk through after the earthquake, and the path they take to the surface right at the end. Anywhere standing out specifically or do u just mean everywhere, because some of those I cant help without making it too clustered

Oh damn... I though you would never continue this one.
Another chapter of the Bloodline series... This is Amazing!
Watched... Good ending for the chapter... It got out of the "Oh, we are heroes and don't hurt the inocent" cliche thing.

Great job, DTS
As already said at the "Nightwish" cinematic thread, i'm your fan. xD

This Deathbinder has something to do with the main story?
He is really an intriguing figure...

Ok, I've watched it twice now.

First off, the bad things. The camera movement is very rough and robotic in the fist half of the cinematic. Later on it gets much better, with fades to black, speed modulation, camera switching, etc. I just don't get why it is so different before. It isn't downright bad, but somewhat dull and annoying at times. This is my biggest complain about this episode, one I cannot really avoid to mention.

Another (albeit minor) annoyance is about animations: archer and priest models have unfortunately the bad habit of crouching and kneeling often. I know that it's only a random chance and probably most people won't even notice, but for me is silly to see Lina looking for her penny in the middle of a dramatic moment, or Irwin doing a 180 on his knees...
One quick solution is to edit the models and change the animation rarity; a better alternative is to force the regular stand animation via triggers, at least in some specific circumstances.

On the good side: everything else. The terrain is nice, not too varied perhaps, but a solid composition with a few very atmospheric scenes here and there. Same thing about special effects use, not jaw-dropping, but rational and amusingly creative at times.

Combat was well done, I enjoyed a lot the way animations were chosen and timed with the action; kudos for taking distances from the standard japanese cartoon ripoff ported into Warcraft. Though sometimes it wasn't easy to keep up with the action (and with this I mean: it was so fast paced and rich of events that it often took me some seconds to figure out what happened) overall it was pretty cool and fun to watch.

I liked the story, and the fact it shows a lot of grey areas and sometimes morally discutible choices cannot be avoided. It feels much more human and convincing this way. To put it short: I think this episode is a welcome and worthy addition to an engaging saga, thumbs up.

Here's the pic I edited for you... I love your series! Thanks for making every episode intresting, every end of an episode makes me hunger for more and watch another episode. I just love it! It's just crazy
5/5 the only thing missing is the voice, but heck it's alright. It's still perfect without it.
This is like a real TV Show or maybe a movie... or something. :) I'm just... just amazed.
