About Stratholme

Stratholme is one of the oldest and bigest city from the fallen kingdom of Lordaeron. Even when the Banshee Queen took the throne, the city of Stratholme remind in hands of the Scourge under the rule of the Dead Knight Baron Rivendare.

However, since the fall of the Lich King the power of the Dead Knight and the Scourge has fallen, so here's where the story takes place.

The questline is based in World of Warcraft dungeon, so you can find a similar way in order to reach Baron Rivendare's room.

Story

After Lich King's deafeat, the Paladin, Malak the Avenger, in a hopeless attempt of recover his land, travel to Stratholme with small army to defeat Baron Rivendare and his minions from The Scourge or die trying.

Gameplay


Straight and Fair. You must follow the questline in order to advance. The Hero must survive. However the map have ending if he's defeated too.

Protect your priest.

About Me

This is my first map and I will recycle it for Calia Menethil's Campaign. However I expect your suggestions to improve it.

Part of a campaign or not, there some issues as of now.
- The player has no anti-air units, the air enemy has air units.
- Your cinematics do not pause combat
- Most cinematics/speech events run twice

Now those are all reasons why this map cannot be approved in its current state.
However, even if you were to fix them; its still a very simple map (even if it is 1 mission in a larger campaign).
Which is a pity because it is generally well made, the use of default units actually makes sense here (this is a campaign scenario-esque map).

Ultimately I cannot tell you how much content a map needs to be approved, but ask yourself this.
Is 5 mob packs and 2 boss fights really all Stratholme should be?

Only a Gargoyle is in the map. It could be destroyed with holly light or priest. It's damage is not higher.

I didn't pause the combat in cinematic but the game run a trigger to change them to neutral. I must fix it with a pickall trigger and invulnerable I guess since cinematic run. I learned to use it yesterday.

The only speech runing twice or more are necromancer/banshee/cryptfiend when they change target and baron when cast but paladin response with variable speech. No cinematic run twice, trigger of cinematics turn off when they finished. However I'll check it again.

Thank you for the review. I'll fix and improve the map.

About the final question: Stratholme is a city used by blizzard to turn Arthas into predicament and then used in WoW as Balnazar keep, however, how this events are post cataclysm, Balnazar has been defeated since vanilla events and with Forsaken forces expanding Stratholme was forgot... I don't know if you read Calia Menethil Campaign plot I have developed but I try to pick forgoten elements of Azeroth like Gnomeregan, Kul'tiras or Caer Darrow Keep. I'll be glad if you can comment the plot too.

I am aware of what Stratholme is; hence Im surprised that you boiled down one of the major human cities into a 64x64 map with 5 creep packs. A bit underwhelming, no?

The point is that even if you fixed the issues raised, you still have a very, very simple scenario that is no way content rich enough to be a single mission in a campaign. For reference, some of the side-maps in Rexxar campaign have dungeons with more stuff than this map.

Even if you did fix the mentioned issues, the scope of this map means it goes straight to "Too Simple" regardless.
Unless of course you plan to massively change the quality and quantity of the content here.

Well this map must be one of that dungeons like Rexxar's gampagin. I understand it goes right to "too simple" zone. Therefore the plot on it was just my first try with the triggers. I really apreciate the feedback. That make me some idea about what I must do to improve my skills too. Thank you Kino. Would be ok if I show you some of my maps when I finish them so you can suggest me some ideas and recomendations or should I upload like I did with Stratholme?

I would post them in the Map development forum.
If you post maps of such quality here they will be moved to substandard and I will be inclinded to be much less lenient next time.
