Fix Description!

To Map Creator - I see you are willing to become a famous map maker and are trying to do things right.

So here are a few tips and tricks on how to do things (includes description tips):

First 1: Always be nice to people, even if there not nice to you.

Second: Always have a good preview map cover

Thirdly: Always have a valid description, if you need description help go here: http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/general-mapping-tutorials-278/importance-description-127031/#post1117301

Fourthly: Constantly update it and making it better is good, but if you are going to update the map, make sure the update is huge before doing soo. Minor unnecessary changes can annoy people.

Firstly nice cinematic! I was just getting interested when it ended. The cinematic is way too short!

Things to add/fix:
  • Add a custom voice for the narrator (White writing) without this the cinematic is kind of boring.
  • Add more music (For example fight music, or calm music for talking etc)
  • MAKE THE WHOLE THING LONGER!!! (Cinematic fails if it ends in the middle of nowhere and is short)

Other than that the cinematic is well on its way to become awesome, only if you make it longer.

Hope I helped and can't wait to see this map scale to even bigger heights,
Lag_Reviews

PS: Good luck with the map and can not wait for the finished project.

First: thaks for tips.
Second: I had thought about the music, but i forgot xDD
Third: I dunno where to get custom voices.
Fourth: With longer, you mean like more thing happening in one map, or more episodes ( as in more maps) ?

Thanks. I had this idea of recreating the battle where Thall and Grom faces Mannoroth, but just when i'd finished the terrain, some dodoads and the characters, my pc got overheated and urned off ( stupid lap-top..)

EDIT: PS: Do you know how Blizzard made the units walk on the dark spots (boundary) ?

In the object editor, find the "collision size" variable and set it to 0. This enables no-collision mode so they can walk over walls and boundaries. They're more agile than even flying units.

With longer I mean make more of the story line, It just seems like it gets into the story line and then it ends in the middle of nowhere...

So like have more of a storyline carry it out some more.

With custom voices you can go here to a tutorial on how to do that: http://world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/cat_usersubmit.php?view=39614 <--- very good tutorial on sound editor.

THANKS A LOT! (really) Now, where do i give reputation....

In case you wonder: you don't have to answer..

not do be rude, but did you even notice that i wrote "you don't need to answer" on the reputation "question"?

EDIT: oh, and Hero_Lief, i tried what you said, but it didn't work. is it possibly that it was because i did it with a paladin?

The colishion size had nothing to do with it-it was the movement type, wich has to be NONE, and even then ( i had trees between some footmen with none as movement type) you have to put them really close to the wall to make them go down it instead of a nearby hill. also, the unit prefer to go around obstacles rathen than right trough it:spell_breaker:

Yeah, that might have been it as well, though you still should set collision to 0. And yes, that kind of thing happens. Just get them used to going through things and they start to actually adapt to that behavior. Even though they're just programs. Strange...

Hehe, yeah. Good to use if you have a secret ranged hero in, let's say, a loap. He/she could then (instead of beeig invulnerable) just go on the boundary and be safe fom melee attackers ( at least if he/she has chosen a good boundary area)

Well, LOAPs kind of abuse that kind of thing, rigging one person and making all others full of fail. You probably shouldn't use no collision for that kind of thing.
