Tales of Thanár is a simple ORPG that´s based on gameplay-fun and not on high quality doodads. It makes a lot of fun owning multisided and completely different bosses with lot of strategy and teamplay. This is a NON SINGLEPLAYER rpg, without playing it in a group, you have no chance.

1.- try to give a description in loading screen
2.- there is something missing in some RPG (orpgv), the history, something of history of the game, what is that island, what are you doing here... something like that

I like the idea of attachments
some classes are nothing new*... (assasin, priest, shaman...) but the classes "commander" or "berserker" are good names

i don't test the game at all, i will give some feedback later (+ rep for creating this game :D!)

*Refering to the classic names in all orpgs...

ty ras, ofc i will ad a story in later versions, and in next version, some hero skills will be remaked, so that every hero class is COMPLETELY different. and i will add a crit/ evasion system. pls dont try to play this game alone, bosses and some quests need a healer, damage dealer and tank, otherwise you have no chance.

Poor landscape. First cliffs are not used properly. The second set are placed irregularly. Third interior worked badly.
I believe cliffs should be removed and make the world more open. It's an RPG, not action or arcade game!
Landscape Assessment: 2/5
Gameplay
There is a dinamic and is a big plus. However, some things are sorrowful. For example: Do not lift objects of other classes. Would not prevent the additional inventory.
Play is very difficult, almost impossible. After the NPC named Grom and Gloria to kill a monster is unreal.
Score gameplay: 3/5
Overall rating 2.5 / 5
Tips:
1. Remake the landscape.
2. Transform the model of the hero and instead trigger the playback of animations using tags alternatives, defend, etc.:ogre_hurrhurr:
3. Add in the beginning at least one trader :ogre_rage:
4. Add a little slack in the form of chests and barrels with items
Bug: Played for the archer, who picked up the wooden arrows, bow disappeared and I began shooting with bare hands!
5. Quests are very sad and the same type: kill / fetch. You need to add more interesting quests. For example: Bring the water to the farmer well. You must fill the barrel with water. However, a bucket full of holes. and the need to quickly bring water. And we prevent kids who run around. If a hero gets near the children, then it slows down to 50%. Therefore, we must avoid the children deftly and quickly bring water to the well.
6. And why write "version 1.0", if the map is still not completed in full? I would call it an "alpha version".:wthumbsdown:

are the bugs fixed?

arrow storm hotkey is E but if i press E nothing will happen
i found the secret stone circle but the quest is not finished
there are some quests that don't give exp
when i load my hunter he don't have the net skill
skills get disarranged

my wc3 can't see the map o_O

It happen to me too, i tried to redownload the map again but i was still unable to see the map. So i downloaded it again for 3rd time and renamed it to avoid the "a`" in the name and then i was able to see both maps the renamed and the one with original name ... so idk exactly what helped, renaming or it was something else... anyway i wasnt able to gather a team to test it out but looking forward to it. So far from screens it looks good Gimli thumbs up!

yes i already removed that net bug, but didnt upoad it, hotkey of arrow storm.. i will check it, and secret stone cricle, you have to go into it and youll se what to do :D
Quests give experience, but not for all levels, to prevent making the again and again.
and again, EVERYTHING is possible, you just need teamplay, i played it with my friends and we mastered everything.

i dont know whats puver's problem, i like the map design, ofc its not like in other maps (for example gaias retailation) but this game isnt based on design, ok i will remove some cliffs to get mor open world feeling

My Review:

Tales of Thanár v1.0

Terrain - (4/10) - The terrain looks good for the first released version of your map. The houses look good, but the cliffs could be seen, perhaps you should add a shadow or something which covers the cliffs up so that it wouldn't be seen. Could be improved.
Triggers - (4/10) - The triggers seem to be okay, but there are some things you should fix. When I tested the and ventured around, suddenly a message shows up saying "Player has rolled x" even though I didn't use -roll which is annoying. You could also add some information regarding the commands you can use, class information, etc. I noticed that there isn't a save/load system yet, so if you use vJass I suggest using Nestharus' save/load system, if you're using GUI then there are a lot of save/load systems in here or outside the Hive, such as Acehart's save/load system, etc. And, after I was able to finish the shimmerweed quest, and was able to claim it, there came the lag, lol. There's probably a leak in your quest system or something, and the reward should be given to your hero instead of the item being dropped to the floor.
Gameplay - (6/10) - I like how you made it a map team-oriented where you don't solo all the things in the map. I like the housing system you used too. The quests are also good, since it's not all hack-and-slash, you'll have to take a look around, finding shimmerweeds, etc. You should remove the -x value to get armor for agility instead of showing random negative numbers to gain x armor. You could add something like "Agility does not give armor." or something. The healing system should also be more clearer. I didn't know where to heal, then I checked out some house in there and got some quests, only to notice I got healed. You should make her say something like: "Hello, you may stay here and rest." or something similar. You should also add a lore to the map, instead of just picking your hero and getting summoned into a small watery area where a sunken ship is found. Also, I don't like the gold system, since players would just go looting stuff that they see, plus the model you used for gold is hard to click lol. And perhaps you could make it: "Who kills the creep gets the gold" if you still stick to this gold system you used. NPC's should say something about the quest when you accept it instead of just giving it to you.
Playability - (6/10) - It is quite playable, but due to the minimap, it's quite hard to find your way and move on to the next place, but I was able to reach the ship part, but it still needs a save/load system to be able to go through more places so that's why I rated playability by 6.
Other Things - (5/10) - For other things that I can't find a part to post in, I'll say here. The heroes could use a name of some sort instead of being named Assassin the Assassin or whatever. You could add houses which can only be opened when you have a key, permission to enter, or even break the door so you may enter instead of being able to go through all the houses. And, you should also work on the tooltips like the Passive Abilities should contain what types of items you can use. For example you use Assassin, then your Passive Abilities skill that is included in your hero should contain something like "Hero is able to equip leather items" or something similar. And again, the quests lack information, when you claim quests the npc's should say something, same goes with completing them.
Total: 25/50 or 2.5/5 - Approvable.
Btw, I didn't play the map that much since I wasn't able to play it with my friends, and since this map's still being developed, so I'll review it more when it gets updated or something.

Note: I wasn't able to review all the things in the map, and this review is for the version 1.0.

Edit: I forgot to actually rate the map, oh well, I gave it 3/5 since I can't give it a 2/5 lol.

Yeah, but you should add something like a bed of some sort which would tell you that you can heal in there. Or when you go inside houses they tell you that you can rest in their house.

I see. I'll try it again with my friends after the update.

Np. I like maps like these and would be happy if it turns into a very awesome map.

I like simple maps. Just a few points.

I use the Esc key a lot when using abilities, especially with spellbooks. My screen is cluttered with rolls simply by playing the game.

I'm personally not a fan of active abilities in spellbooks. This hinders gameplay making it difficult to kite and orb-walk; but I can live with it I guess. You should label the hotkey on that, however (Q).

If items that neither played class can use drops and you can't pick them up to sell they are just annoying and anti-fun. Detect what classes are in the game and drop accordingly or remove unobtainable items instantly as they drop.

These are my initial thoughts. Will look into the map further later.

EDIT: The secret Stone Circle didn't work for me and I'm pretty sure I found the right location.

The quest system is nice and simple, do like. Has good potential, needs more content however (skills & quests primarily). Return-scrolls, or an ability would be useful.

EDIT2: Also you never get a hint of what abilities you get. A solution is to give the spellbook "inactive" passives with no effects that describes what you get and at what level you get it.

EDIT3: I didn't get the net ability on the Hunter the first time I picked him, but I got it the second. He also shoots arrows even without the bow. The Venom-arrow sometimes does not deal any damage at all.

Net bug and venom arrow bug is already fixed, ill upload this version today. cause everyone is complaining about "esc" roll, ill remove that, just thought its better than typing -roll all the time. the active spellbook is already "Q".

broodmother is imba. Need to reduce its performance.
Add the normal shops with armor and weapons. And preferably in the first shelter. Since the at first very difficult, and nowhere to spend the money.

you need strategy and a good team combo and you can own broodmother on lvl 5 with 3 heroes, and if you really got problems with broodmother, youll have much more problems with dungeon 1, but everything is possible until now with 3-4 players, and stone circle quest works!, i tried it.
to activate it, every player on map has to stay inside, it rly should work now

btw, i will add a shop with weapon and armor in thalymdor, but thats not important, in v1.1 you can buy legendary equip for gemstones, but i think noone got one until now.

hmm broodmother is not that hard ;)
If you play 100 500 hours, killing the mother spider is not difficult. And when the gameplay is reduced to a slew of the same monster for 100 500 times. So it's not interesting. Especially if there are no shops and nowhere to spend the gold.

you have to spend the money for potions, i dont know whats your problem?, you really like maps that are too easy? i dont know what you are doing, maybe youre playing alone or with another guy, or just took no healer or tank, but broodmother is rly easy

Very interesting map !!!

I like the maps that characters can show their equipment out :D however this map need to be developed more about the story, shops, skills, and it should have "forging", too ;))

If you guy can build a map with equipment system that people only can buy equipments from shops or kill monsters to take the material to create equipments, it will become a GREAT game !!! (because i think a monster do not wear cloth or sword on their body ;)), so how can they drop the weapons after we kill them??? ^^ )

Ahh, two more thing, I suggest that player can distribute stats by themself, it will be better to build a character follow your own way !!! and the number of player should be up to 6 or 7 :D

I think this map will become one of the best ORPG map !

(I'm playing Tkok & Gaia now :D anyone wanna join us ^_^)

Game was eh

Terrain was decent but frankly it felt too linear and cramped, also everything was a fucking jungle

Gameplay was honestly boring. It's just grinding and the quests are mostly just fetch quests and don't really give much of a reward. If you want to progress at all in the game you have to grind for hours which quickly becomes annoying when all the enemies are the same and act exactly the same with no abilities to be seen outside of bosses. Also going to a tavern after every goddamn fight to heal effectively was tedious

Support classes suck ass and don't have any use that I could see, and class balance is whompy (mostly concerning support classes again). Our shaman ended up tanking in place of our cleric because the cleric does not have many decent defense abilities and the shaman had an extreme lack of mana regeneration for his lackluster heal. In fact there needs to be more abilities because it took 50 minutes for us to get to level 5 and to get our second ability. In addition, the game kind of forces a dedicated healer and tank and it seems a lot like your standard subscription MMO

50 min rly???, shouldnt take more than 25 min, also cleric is a MUCH better tank than a shaman. cleric got rly much defensive skills. youre right commander isnt that nice to play atm (but rly useful), but ill update him next version, same as healing in houses.

well the shaman was mostly healing himself due to the lack of heals he had at his disposal so he ended up tanking because we got F*******cked over for not picking a dedicated tank

the point is, is that supports need to be a little more viable on their own rather than depending on a pure tank or pure healer because we could not fight anything past spiders until around level 4 and grinding to that point took forever

Generally, if you want to your orpg was popular, do more freedom of action. There is in the site a model villager with lots of animations. You can make a choice at the beginning of man or woman, the distribution characteristics, the choice of the initial spell. So it will be much better. Believe.
