A ranged weapon attachment for rifleman/marine based models

  • Uses only in-game textures


Works just like the RK62 attachment

Attach as it is to the "right hand" attachment point of a model that uses marine animations.

If you attach it onto a rifleman based model, you must set the "Art - Required Animation Names - Attachments" field of that model to "Second" so the attachment will be correctly rotated.


If the attachment still doesn't fit, try setting the "Art - Required Animation Names - Attachments" of the carrying unit to either "Third" or "Fourth".

Actually it's Suomi KP. You could use it as a PPSH in a map of course since they look very similar; after all the soviets copied the PPSH from the Suomi KP. Main differences between the two are that PPSH has a shorter barrel and uses lower quality materials resulting in an inferior but cheaper weapon that could be mass produced.

how can mon target it to a marine so the fit i have try left,hand or right,hand

Help me!

I am doing like the guide tells me but the peasants i inport the gun to appear in green/black boxes, what is the wrong i do?:cry::fp::pcry:
 
Why is there no animation where the weapon is aligned to the X-axis, as it should be?
Most custom models (at least my own, lol) tend to have those kind of attatchments.
That would be the "Stand Third" animation. (The gun handle is aligned to X-axis, the rest of the gun goes along Z axis).
If the whole gun would be aligned along X axis, the unit would be holding it like it was some melee weapon.

The gun's handle should be at the models origin point, and the barrel should point along the +x axis. That is how weapons attatch to the villager model, the grunt, the night elf sentry, and most other models that i use for testing. I had to import it to max and export it again to get it the way i wanted it.

In it's unanimated state, this model is alignet that way. Otherwise, it fits stuff like the marine, or the konstrukt marine models.
i like the fact that it is compatiable to several different models though.

(The handle aligned along x axis and the barrel going along z axis. 'Stand Third' variation)

The second villager is holding the gun like he was going to hit somebody with it or to just carry it around.
(The barrel going along the x axis as you said. Now included in the model as 'Stand Fourth' variation)

i like the fact that it is compatiable to several different models though.
Yeah it's primarily made to fit marine & rifleman type models since those are the only models I know of that have fitting animations.

Ah, that is true. On my halo models though, mods were very clear that it had to be aligned that way, perhaps to avoid the weapon clipping into the ground, but i see how this could make great sense.
Anyways, since i thought it was standard, all my own models has been made that way, here is, for instance, my new german soldier model wielding your weapon ingame!:

Awesome, Kitabatake! Ya know, if you reduce a little bit the size of it and make some other modifications, it will look like a Soviet PPSh-41(awesome SMG, in my opinion, its a machinegun ;P).
