Stalker

This is a stalker model i did for a starcraft project earlier; the map was intended to be released before the beta, but was unfortunately stalled, and it's release has now lost some of it's exclusiveness.
None the less i think it is a great model that should be shared to the hive community, it is entirely custom made based on early screenshots from SC2 (which is why the mesh is somewhat inaccurate) and not ripped in any way.
Mesh was made in 3ds max 5, textures in Photoshop CS5.

Some notes:
*Teamcolor is included
*The decay animation is merged to the death sequence, so make sure to set the unit to "can't raise, does not decay"
*The spell animation is missing, and should not be used. it shows only a fraction of a second where the unit stands frozen with it's weapon lit.

have great fun with it and remember to give credit, should you ever use it in your map.

@Misha: Always so sceptical!
Look at the stalker model from any starcraft screenshots, then look at this. There is a significant difference. Also, it uses several textures and particles and objects - not to mention animations! - that couldn't possibly have been ripped due to the engine differences.

EDIT: @Misha #2: lol, the texture layout is so messy, it is bound to be my work. ;)
But seriously, due to how light is handled in the SC2 engine, the static map (unshaded) would not have that much directional lighting incorporated into it. On the legs and the "gun" plate, you can see that i have worked to create the illusion of directional light (and specular mapping) by adding a fake gloss to it.
the reason it resembles so well is because it is made through studying pictures of the original model and using the eyedropper tool to recover the right colors.

I completely agree with varsaigen.

First of all, all you did in that screen was to rip a bunch of SC2 models and place them in a blank map, i see no potential whatsoever in that project.
Second, if you request this:

Models Spells Triggers Terrain EtC

Then what's left for you to do?
A monkey could do the object editor work.

Don't go request entire projects from people when you don't have a profession of your own.

Those of you who dont believe, Fingolfin made his Battlecruiser before beta was even out, so he can do the meshes quite accurately. Then he probably saw what the Stalker texture looks like and he made his own based on it. It's easier when you see how something looks than if you have to think how it should look.

Good job on the model, you showed me what you did. Too bad you didnt do the BCruiser on time and I had to use the real one. Speaking of which if you want to, ask varsaigen to continue working on the effects if you still need them. I'll be busy and make a BIG break from THW anyway

I wonder how many people think the STarcraft I models were ripped from STarcraft I and Brrodwar..... XD

Personally, I do not see how it looks ripped, but I notice the near-perfect details that have made this model so close to Blizzard's that it stands out in a crowd of other starcraft models. :3
