Description


Stairway, the path to the famous city of Illu is one of the world most important intersection.

City of Illu play several vital part in his role at the world, controlling the path to the city means controlling the town as the only way to gain access to the city is through this famous stairway.

  • This melee map have been design for a quick 1 vs 1 game. The resources are fairly distribute and very limited, a good skill is require if a person want to achieve victory.
  • There might be a slight of disadvantage for those who start at the bottom of the stairway, but do no underestimate the enemy although you might have the advantage from higher ground as tactics count the most.

VGsatomi: Nice idea with the layout- 3 corridors to advance to the enemy base, some populated with creeps and some not. Vast distance between players at the start helps stave off rushes a little but, but this is largely a lightly-creeped map. Terrain in the city potions was nice. The outdoors areas could use some texture touchups. Some areas had cluttered doodads while other areas were almost blank of them

don't see many melee maps here, looks good but i think theres too many shops, also you should rename it (2)Stairway so it fits in with the rest of the melee maps

Edit: wait... this hasnt been approved and your a mod o_O

Well, I always pm them to approve my map once I think it is ready to do so. And I not that good in terrain, just want to do some test to it.

In addition, I do not like to rename my map title to (2)Stairway with a number on it.

I do not think it is necessary to do so since 70-90% of non-melee map have their mini-map preview.

LoL is that a rejection to the great map critique Septimus?? Wow, that got to hurt since he made many high level comments about other maps and have probably seen many great map too...

Well, it doesn't hurt me that much probably just a scratch and I know my weakness very well.

This map have a good balance in resources distribution, fair item distribution, fair level creep.

But, can you guess which is the downside of it ?

The downside of this map is terrain, as you know. I am not a good terrainer, I might be good in trigger and have lot's of idea. But, my terrain skill is my biggest weak spot and that is why Gilles give this map rating 1 due to the poor terrain.

The main reason of why I learn to create melee map is to improve my terrain skill since melee map only focus on terrain.

I can guess some people going to come in here soon and mock my terrain skill as part of their revenge for my harsh critique about their map.

Edit : Drastically improve the map, hopefully it would be more in acceptable level.

4 gold mine with maximum 40,000 gold resources is equally fair enough for a 1 vs 1 match, with a proper strategy to fight off against the enemy. The resources would not be a problem at all.

The gameplay might not be longer than 60 minutes, usually there would be 1 winner in within a hour.
