  With the coming of new year, three great eastern warlords came to the planet with red lanterns and cheered with the local natives to welcome the new year. Under their powerful mana celebration, the terrain structure of the whole planet has become more and more spring like.

Preface

  "Spring Festival" the terrain of "spring" presents a Chinese character of "春", it's me compiled by imitating the cover map of "Spring Festival" in "Baidu Encyclopedia" in 2020. From "New Year's Eve" on January 24, 2020 to the end of "COVID-19" city closure in China on March 10, 2020, it took more than two months to complete, all the designs of the map are planned by myself. Due to the lack of model making software, So in addition to the mdx model used by custom units and custom terrain decorations from "HiveWorkshop", All the maps, sound effects, trigger parameters, variables, etc. in it are original production. Among them, The arc shaped hemispheres in the middle of the map are carved by my mouse, one by one; The sound effect of fireworks and firecrackers inside, It was recorded on New Year's Eve when I sneaked into the countryside near the outskirts of the city at the risk of being arrested and detained by the anti epidemic personnel during the "COVID-19" closure of the city...So, please treat this map with the attitude of the author, if you have any comments or personal opinions on this map, please contact the author. Game notes

  There are two modes available in this map: "Competition Mode" and "Entertainment Mode".

  "Competition Mode" is the normal confrontation mode without any changes.

  "Entertainment Mode" has added many new units, magic and event triggers, all of which are related to "Spring Festival".

  In "Entertainment Mode", There will be many Kongming latern floating in the sky of the whole map, players can choose a Kongming latern to spend a certain amount of money to make a wish, you can get an item or unit at random after making a wish, quality depends on luck. The red lantern in the middle of the map is the core area of the map, on this isolated hemisphere have a group of Draenei aborigines hold a spring festival party around a rotating red lantern. Red lanterns sell all kinds of new year goods, through worship the three Yuan Panda with red lanterns can also get three panda firework teams to hold a new year's celebration with you. It is worth mentioning that, The Panda Fireworks team is a very good air attack unit, can cause range damage to air units, And the damage effect is considerable. The firecracker area on both sides of the map, though barren by the explosion, But players who don't like to set off firecrackers can use lever to turn off the fire, In this way players can safely explore these two areas. Although occasionally a portal to the red lantern area is created on the map, But the firecracker area is the only two fixed areas for players to provide long-distance navigation ability to the red lantern area.

  At present, the map only supports Chinese and English, if you have a text display exception in the game, Please go to Blizzard to download and install the corresponding language pack upgrade patch.

  In addition, Due to the inconsistency between the classic version of "Warcraft III" and some models of "Warcraft III:Reforged", So it's not recommended that maps run in "Warcraft III:Reforged", Otherwise an unknown error will occur.

OK, everything in the game that's supposed to be text (quest log, dialog buttons) is blank, probably because it was supposed to be in Chinese.
Bilingual maps are allowed but foremost they have to be in English.

  I spent several days staying up late, not only changing the task menu and dialog box to English, but also changing the name of custom unit and skill to English. Now this map supports both English and Chinese. Please review it.

  1. The workers start too far from the main building. They should appear between the main building and gold mine. For me they appeared between the mine and the building.
  2. The terrain is flat, one tiled and has ugly black boundary tiles in places. Also, there's doodad spam in many place especially the southern point of interest.
  3. There's also stuff mostly used for aesthetics like Taverns instead of Shipyards and Goblin Laboratories very far away from the players. The issue is that the map is huge and not all players might have the same advantage.
  4. Gold Mines should have some cover so that Acolytes won't easily be killed.
  5. Mine guards should have biggest camp range so that towers won't be build near before attacking them. Another possible thing because of the current lower camp range is constructing a main building behind them before killing them.
  6. Wishes should probably have a bigger cooldown. They also go out over the water where you can't use them anymore. Actually since they so few, the cooldown is OK.
  7. It's not fair to buy a gift and not be able to spawn a unit from it because you need more food.
  8. Another issue is that gifts appear near the hero and some other hero can steal it. They should appear in the hero inventories.
  9. Not sure if you're supposed to get a Draenei Labourer and start building Draenei stuff. I guess the gifts should have a specific RNG list.
  10. The issue with Draenei buildings is that you can put them over other buildings or doodads.
  11. Hopefully, no random heroes spawn from gifts?

Well, sadly as a melee map this doesn't work because of the obvious inequalities of the layout. As an altered melee map, the changes/added material is too simple.
This serves more as aesthetics. Although I suggest making it look really nice inside too, not just on the minimap if you'd want to turn it into a Template.

Nice touch on the entertainment mode. However, it's really nothing special with the map layout not helping the gameplay. Maybe you could touch more on game modes and probably you should redesign the map/terrain better.

  The workers are too far away from the base, because I designed the initial point of the base on the gold mine, and the location of the base was randomly assigned by the game. Because the layout of the base alone will make the "X" of the map thumbnail particularly obvious, which is ugly.

It is not impossible. You just have to figure out how to properly place starting locations and whatever there is on the map. As I already wrote, you can use a custom minimap for the shape of the star and circle.
After all, it took me four months.
Well, sometimes the work time does not go hand in hand with the end quality result.
As a template maybe it'd work with proper editing to make the terrain nice. As a melee, it does not. As for altered melee, it's way too simple right now.

Yes, look at some altered melee maps around here to get some ideas.
Basically, try thinking of fun modes and stuff.
Also try making the current one with the lamps better, balanced and such.

  I think it's a big change that I've added a dalanell race to this map. The race has 11 buildings, 14 units, dozens of skills and scientific research. It's just that I've hidden them in the map, and as long as players can get the dalanell workers, they can use the dalanell clan.

  The balance of the dalanell race was determined several times after I tested it against the other four races.

  Because my map is encrypted, I don't know if you have found the hidden content. If you need to learn more about the hidden content of the opposite, I can give you the open source map.

Consider that for instance, such a map was put to Substandard because it had simple content as well:
Lantern Festival - Owl-keeping
