Snowman Defense Nightmare

This map is made by me some time ago, well, modded much and balanced much before deciding to put it up here. Therefore, here's the map.
Credits goes to various resource providers that i listed in the Credits section and various important beta testers and contributors as well.
Inspired by: "When Snowman Attacks" by illidan92 and Krid which was edited later on by myself as well.

Description
=========
Snowman Defense Nightmare is probably a remake of the old map of "When Snowman Attacks" that was hosted back for about a year ago and then lost. Although much remained the same, some new things are added and better described spells are added. For those who had tried out the Old Map, you will be expecting more in here and some familiar things still around.

In Snowman Defense, Player 1(Red) will be the host. He will decide the game difficulty. Each playing player will be able to choose a class from 6 unique choices - Assault Rifle, Shotgun, Chain Gun, Sniper Rifle, Photon Rifle and Rocket Launcher.

Survive through approximately 35 minutes of nightmare action. Teamwork is definitely necessary and skilled playing and familiarity with the game is needed to survive the nightmare. You have to protect mainly three things in this game, The Igloo(middle main structure), The Towers(glacier towers), and Yourself. (Someone quoted this and i found it very meaningful lols.)

NEW: Now, You can assemble your own "Special Operations Team" to take down all the Secondary Quest to get more bounty and also fund your Excavation Team to help you uncover forgotten artifacts that might help you out in your ultimate objective!

- There is a way to customize difficulty (You can look into it on the Quest Tab), Host codes to customize are -coding, -customize, -custom <coding>.
- Normal Difficulty - Longest record is 5th minute mark(NEW - V2.4b). No one finished the map successfully. Although some teams made it to the end, but that was the bugged versions. (These result is made after about over 50 hosts)
- Current Version 2.6c Stable Public.
- Well, this map is not protected, but I don't think anybody would ruin the map because of this.(?)

(Taking 50+ hosts as a standard)
- Rare crashes with warcraft 3 during the near end of the game. However, its very rare, only about less than 2% chance of happening.
- Please do not play this map on Full Visibility, some Secondary objectives will be disrupted due to that.
- "Stucked" Heros after selection. Until now, it could rarely be helped, players could try typing -repick and see if it works, but usually, it doesn't. A bug with the dialog buttons. To prevent this, tell the players to choose their class only after a short lag when selection dialog appears. Probability: About 10% - 5% chance.
- Heroes trapped after selection, type -unstuck to resolve.

Is this map playable alone? Like with Ai?

Ok, this is a good game but i recomed people in b.net not take very easy cause you can do it alone. I think the terrain could be better, because just snow is a little bit boring. Add ice and doodads, it will be better. I'll give you a 3/5 because of terrain, improve it and people will rate it higher. Nice job anyway for triggers and units and nice models.

That equals 100 points max.
To get a Hive grade over 1/5 at least 50% of the 80 (Triggered map) or of the 100 (Cinematic map) points is needed. That means at least 40 or 50 points. However if a map gets rated over 1/5 by me, that doesn't mean that I will imidietly vote it to be approved.

Originality: 6 points
I haven't seen much snowman maps out there, the hero defense idea isn't so original, but I liked the whole building buying concept.

Object editor work: 8 points
Good job here, hotkeys working, everything was nicely colored.

Scripting: 6 points
The map worked, it was okay. There weren't much special features or anything to advanced, but it was okay. I looked up a bit in the trigger editor, I am not sure did you clear the leaks.

Terrain: 2 points
The terrain suits the map, and it is playable but it is way to bad. It is to plain, to void. You must use more dodoads to make it more interesting this is just bad.

Bug Free: 3 points
I found quite a couple of problems:
- I bought the +50 for pet, my hero bought it and used it and nothing happened, I know my pet has to use it but you should do if I use it with hero nothing happens, this way I lost it
- My pet died and then he dropped items, he dropped the pet description item aswell I picked it up and couldn't drop it anymore
- The mass waves sometimes didn't appear on the places the game told me
- Hero is way to weak compared to pets

Gameplay/Fun Factor: 6 points
It was fun to play, interesting. The pet part was a nice addon and the buildings part is nice too.

Lag: 8 points
Some lag, nothing too drastic. Fine loading time.

Proper submission and crediting: 6 points
You should add images here, and credit the authors here as well not only ingame.

In overall: 45 / 80
56%
minimal 50% met.
For the hive grade: 2/5 I suggest this map for: On Hold

In overall it is a fun map that has some problems. For instance, you need to fix the bug problems as well as the terrain. The map is nice, but not yet ready for approval as it has some problems.

Thx for the comments, yea, the terrain is abit undeveloped, hmm, i will see what i can do to it, as for playability with One Player, maybe u choose the Minimal difficulty, or customize difficulty.

Cinematic? lol, i tot ppl at bnet hates cinematic, so maybe i will not touch on that any time soon yet.

Bugs, o, yea, the pets description is neglected, will get that fix on the next version, Mass Waves, erm, not really that much massive, it just comes in about 30 sec time, its abit larger than normal.

To Vegetation, yea, haha, ppl at bnet complained on the difficulty as well, but i guess thats whats make a game additive in some ways? Yea, will fix on terrain fast, and thx for the rep+, and for the nice comment. +rep to you too.

Aaron79, thx for the comment, hav you tried hosting at bnet yet?

As for further developments, i m thinking of adding a subquest section to it, but found it difficult to make it challenging and do-able. Still working on that.

This is not my first map, but, maybe third playable map, my first playable map was Mur'hunt, posted quite long ago.

Alright, hope i addressed to what most people are waiting for, a new version, adjusted to all the requests made here ^^. Well, as requested, on the top of the list, Terrain is modified, definitely, i think it should be up to at least 75% satisfaction. The item compatiblity with pets is fixed to a more appealing style - items that cannot be used would be refunded at full cost. Some graphical enhancements, a new weather(hmm, not just snow onli anymore) and hope this would get approved soon.

Thx for your comments, Gamecrafter_DK, i really appreciate it. Hmm, xp got ksed? Well, would not be a problem at the mid game onwards; you will have tons of xp coming in.

Maybe I should take this thread to post some game strategies.
Tip 1: This map is best played with 8 to 10 players, (You will see gd fireworks and explosions flashing around the map nicely.)
Tip 2: For newcomers, remember to remind them of ability 'Z', z-q to rocket barrage and z-r to heal, this two are spammable and very useful.
Tip 3: Stay together, you might want to just focus at the middle since the start then separating all over the map.
Tip 4: Tower kills by NPC will have its bounty shared with all players periodically.
Tip 5: Do not underestimate the pets.
Tip 6: Remember to have at least 1 revive and 1 battery charge with you always.

As you might wonder, there is still a large portion of the map that is rarely used, FYI, it would only be fully optimized when the subquests section comes out in version 1.7. And thx for supporting the map and do host it often at Bnet.:grin:

Well, ok, I was looking through the map list recently can came back to this old map and decided to add my intended finishing touches.

Nothing much really changed, except for a new loading picture and the Subquest Addition. Hope you will continue to support this map.

Did you forget quest? because i played for at least 20 min in maximal difficulty and.... no quest spawned but in earlier version we had at least 5 quest after 20 min.

I Was Stucked OMG !

I tested your map, and i think i found a bug.
After picking my class, i was spawn in between 4 trees and couldnt get out
