Skeleton Warriors v1.9

Undead (Skeletons) decided to attack and takeover humans' island. You should play with Skeleton King and his army. You can increase your army with special items - books, which summons skeletons. Also Skeleton King can carry an orb, which gives him bonuses. At start him will be given training orb with small attack bonus. (You can't carry more than one type of book and orb).

- Custom inventory with special slot for book and special slot for orb(other four are for normal items)
- Secrets, which help to win humans
- Soul system (soul drops out from living unit; If you gather 35 souls you'll get prize!)

- Inventory bugs fixed (but there may be bugs or game crashes with buying items)
- Added stronger creeps

I took terrained by my friend map (he gave me permission to edit it), and made from it normal playable campaign-type map. And I made new inventory system specially for this map. But nobody gave me full comment/review of my map.

Review

+points.
- like the 'training' system for the skeletons (it looked like they got bigger and bigger)
- like the slots made specially for orbs and books.
- like the 'soul harvest' idea...
- like the concept of a skeleton army map...
~somewhat- points.
- Like the orbs, too bad there were only 2... :(
- same thing about the 'special' unit, waste... it makes people say; uuh, i can't wait for new special monster
- All those secrets... it takes focus off, that you are a reckless force of undead destruction... but good to have them.

- WAY too many towers, looks 'realistic' but it isn't good for gameplay, as soon as you enter the castle, you find that it's 10 times better to stalk around on your own, finger o' paining them.
- 4 near-invulnerable golems, HALVE their hp!!! ATLEAST!!! they stomp your undeaddies, to death in no time... maybe decrease damage of their spells.
- alter the timborus abilities, i got to lvl 6, and i never really got to lvl 5 of that lvl 10 ability :p
- When you rescue the prisoners, you rescue those in the next room also, stand in the outern prison room, fingering the enemies approaching to kill your inner prisoners, and you got yourself a strike force, capable of wining the game for you, only with patience.
- the opening of the gates is a mess, leave it open as you enter first time...
- the potion shop... i discovered it like 20 times :D might want to turn off that trigger. and... that should count up the secret found integer, right?
hope that was full enuff' for ya... pm me when you've fixed these points.

Thanks for review. I'll fix bugs in coming 1.5b version. I think it will be released tomorrow. :grin:

About Potion Merchant, bug fixed. And it isn't secret, it is optional quest. Read Quests [F9].

About automatical doors. I think I don't change or remove them. I'll make they vulnerable. Doors will open and close if they aren't destroyed.

About too big count of towers. I'll make lever in suburbs which turns off/on towers.

About near invulnerable golems. I'll reduce their HP, attack and "slow" spell duration.

About orbs. Actually, there is 8 orbs (Training, Venom, Slow, Shadow, Fire, Lightening, Frost and Corruption). And 4 books per type(4 types of books of Dead, and 4 types of books of Poison). You found only two, because I made what from monster drop random type of orb.
In next version will be more item and they all can be bought at the shop.

Why? It will be very easy to win the map. I won't do that.

This occurs because golem immune to magic (And this occurs with other units immuned to magic). It is Bllizzard's bug.
EDIT: I found something in gameplay constants, changed; it must work

And all items in the map (And in alot of other maps), because items' HP is only 75 by default (And in this map, too).

Fixed (But now can appear other bugs).

For me it works. Maybe you pressed other button? Or maybe you didn't press it? Maybe UFO damaged my map? (Joke)

I had never noticed that items can be killed. Sorry.

Nonsense? I told what had happened. At least this happened while I had played the map.
I had pressed the button in suburbs to deactivate the towers but the towers were still attacking me. Imagine my surprise that I had gone to the town by seeing that it will be easy to take control of the town now the towers are not attacking but lost some of my units because the towers attacked & took me completely off guard.
EDIT:O.K. I played the map again. This time when I pressed the button the towers did not attack. I just don't know what is happening.

Maybe you destroyed ONLY barrel but forgot destroy button (If button is pressed it must be red!).

Forget that. Do you think that you will be updating with improvements in the terrain?

I don't know. I'm not good at terrain. But my friend Aivis (terrainer) doesn't play Warcraft (And he has deleted it). It is very bad, because he has better terrains on his comp.

I need new terrainer, which can improve terrain in my map.
 
1) Okay, i've found a giant Bug, the Secret counting doesn't work. The multiple-event secret gain events turn themselves off, so they doesn't work for the other events.
2) It is not possible to advance beyond level 8 8/9.
3) There's only 77 souls, MAXIMUM to be found all over the map. why then put a /100 limit?
4) Why are the stat bonus coming from the soul gathering COMPLETELY without of bounds?
5) you might want to add a quest info tab, explaining when the skeletons 'evolve'
6) same thing, with soul ability gain.

In version 1.7 (current) prize (additional ability) is given for gathering 35 souls.
About reaching level more than 8. I wanted to make this map campaign, but because of a lot of bugs Skeleton Warriors 2 is stopped until fixing bugs in this map.
Secret counting has bothered me. I'll fix that in v1.8.
 
I've looked at your triggers, so i know that you've made some obvious mistakes in that secret counting. about the levelling, just make requirements less, and gain more, until the next map is done. The best tactic is to run around on your own, killing those damned birds, and sheeps and so on. Why don't you make it more exciting to have skeletons at your disposal? make a better description of how to gain better skeletons, so people aim for that. Also, please, DO make more special summons. and don't blame it on blizzard, that your spell doesn't work. you can ALWAYS fix it. base finger of pain over another spell? decrease rescue range on those skeletons in the dungeons, or place the two cells more apart, so they don't rescue eachother through the wall... so on, fix those small bugs.

I think terrain in this map is good enough for this time, I want to continue second chapter, and only then to improve in this chapter.
Can I ask you to make terrain for second map? I'll make a layout how it must look.

Grr cant seem to find (and play) the map!!!

Strange.. I can play it(both protected and unprotected maps). What version of Wc3 do you have? I have 1.24e.

It's been so long since i played this... this is a really fine map. and inspired me to create something Kinda similar...

Yes, it's a tad flawed, this one... but it just had a charm that made me forget all about the flaws, and just play it... :)

i know the old version, i had played it too, but tell me pls the new ver. is it playable?


Why is everyone ignoring mine and the other guys post where we said:

the map is invisible-unplayable.
