Shooting Mage Duels v6.0 AI
The best mages of Azeroth have gathered at a field where they can practice their shooting expertise. Step on red flags in the middle to shoot explosions at your enemy. Each player has 50 lives. Best played with reforged graphics. However, only Warcraft 3 the Reign of Chaos is required to play.

Shoot powerful explosions and dodge with crafty spells

Shooting Mage Duels is a spellcaster map similar to a game of dodgeball but with items and powerups! There are 50 lives per player and 9 heroes to choose from - each with special abilities. An item shop in each base allows you to purchase spells, towers, and more! Now in v2.3, an AI is included, meaning you can go up against computers! The AI doesn't cheat!

Here is a video where I play against the v2.3 AI:

Here is a video showing the powerful upgraded AI in v4.3 (if you want to turn off the "a hero has fallen" sound and ingame music just alt tab twice):

Strategies: One of the more well known strategies in this game is to use the suicide spell until you can buy all your items and spells early on. You only have 50 lives, but it'll save you later, when you kill your opponents faster with better gear.

Move your hero to the middle where the flags are and when a blue flag turns red, step on it to shoot a line of explosions at your enemy! The blue flags will turn red randomly every few seconds. Red flags turn back to blue when they are stepped on. Kill your enemy until they have no lives to win. Each player gets 50 lives. The game can be played 1v1 or up to 12v12 or even in a single player test setting.

One explosion will deal 10,000 damage.

Each kill will net you 90 gold.

After each death, you can repick a new hero.

There are 9 heroes to choose from - Mage, Paladin, Ogre, Tinker, Pirate, Skeletal Carnation, Illusionist, Steam Tank, and Spell Controller

Game Modes

Standard Mode
Kill your enemies until they have no lives remaining to win. Each player starts out with 50 lives. If all players on a team loses all their lives, then the opposing team wins.

Coin Mode
To change from Standard Mode to Coin Mode, the host must type [-coin mode] without the brackets. The message can be typed at any point during the game, which will instantly change the winning conditions. In Coin Mode, each team must work together to collect 350 coins. The first team to collect 350 coins wins. Kills only slow down the enemy from gathering coins, but are not vital to winning.

---AUTHORS NOTES---

The map version "SMD v1.5a No Load Screen" is Shooting Mage Duels without the loading screen. The map runs faster and is intended to have some of the lowest delay in Warcraft 3.

If you want to play with the Loading Screen or with the most up to date features, then use "Shooting Mage Duels v5.6 AI" instead.

This map is unprotected.

Seems like a fun map to experience with people. Might need more game modes. Approved.

Is your map free to edit and upload? That's what the Open Source tag stands for, not that it's unprotected.

Please remove the older version if it's not desperately needed or different.

Also, please hide the screenshots; they are covering more than the whole screen.
Read some of the description guides please.

Awaiting Update.

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

Why would it run slower and why would it be their choice for a worse experience?
Thanks for asking.

It runs slower because more triggers slow the map down. The older version is the most recent version without a noticeable drop in speed, but it has less features. The loading screen alone slows the game speed down a bit. Nothing I can do about it. The same thing applies for other maps, but some people don't notice the speed drops, but I do.

The players are choosing over features/ less glitches versus speed. Personally, I would choose speed over glitches in this case, but I'm giving the players an option to play with less glitches and more features.

In the changelog, I outlined 1 bug v1.6 fixed, so the older version doesn't have that.
