Acolyte2.BLP

This bundle is marked as useful / simple. Simplicity is bliss, low effort and/or may contain minor bugs.
This is my first uploaded skin for warcraft. I wanted to do something easy to start with. He has a bunch of white colors on him because he's a Arctic Acolyte. No more having the same colored unit in severe weather!

Keywords:
Acolyte, snow, undead, blizzard
Contents

Severe snowy conditions: Acolyte (Texture)

shiiK: Cleaning up skins that have been rejected (until updated) for more than a month - moving to rejected permanently due lack of updates since last moderation. No new review of the skin has been made. If you feel that this decission is wrong, or if you want to update the skin, please reply to this PM and I'll work it out for you. As this is a preset message, and I'm just picking up each and every skin in the category, I want to apologize beforehand if this clutters your inbox.

67chrome: Skins need to have at least 75% freehand content to be approved, and this skin is lacking in that department. If you need help with freehand techniques check out the 2D art tutorials located on this site, they cover a wide array of useful information for everything involving creating custom skins.

Well no, I have new shades within it, I gave him a newly color on his skin, to match the snow. The "Paintbuckets" You say, Are not really paintbuckets. They are colors to be displayed. Downloading it May help you to see it more, But then again it maybe not. If it is really that bad, I need to redo some work I presume.

I like the idea, an Arctic Monk or Acolyte could be cool. However, there's a lot that needs to be improved. First of all, I find that the best way to begin with a skin is to wipe out the entire old skin (be sure to mark the parts that are painted and tag them so you know what's what) and begin from scratch. It's easier not to be affected by the old skin and make something new and unique that way. However, that might be a bit hard for a beginner like you, so my advice is to study how the original is made, where there are highlights and where there are shadows and use that to make your own skin look 3D (one of the points of skinning/texturing is to make a flat surface on the model look like it's not actually flat). The edits you've done to this are too minimal and are not really well defined. We can see clearly that the acolyte's original skin is shining through and that's not something you want. The changes you have made are mostly just colours that have no shape, it just makes it whiter in general.

You should have a look in the tutorials section and pick up a few techniques, and for a while; stick to showing your skins in the Texturing & Surfacing forum. It will give you more constructive criticism, less angry flames as well as lessen the workload on the moderators.

I hope I didn't come off too hard and that you'll keep trying. Good luck!
