Very simplistic model. Pretty high in kb for what it is I might add. You should probably see what you can do for lowering the amount of particles that are displayed, or rethinking how they're implemented into the model. In turn you could probably afford to up the polys and add a bit of detail. Right now it's very... geometric. And if you're going to use a custom texture for something like this then it very well should be worth it. Wow us! Add a little bit of contrast and detail. Otherwise I can think of a few clever uses of in-game textures that would suit it well, reduce the filesize, and also give it a more "warcrafty" feel.

Update: Yeah after testing in game it needs all of that and so much more.
 
The beam is the weapon and only shows up in attack animation, which seems to be bugged out in hive viewer, worked well in-game for me.

alright.. but let's see if you can tweak the model to use any suitable ingame texture, as this one really is hurting it, filesize-wise + that pictures from google aren't allowed to be textures
