NO‎TESCREDIT
  • No need to change import paths for custom textures. You can import the entire folder (Ctrl + Shift + I) through the Import Manager.
Give credits if you use my resources in your map.

You may repost my models or incorporate them in your 3D creations, as long as you observe proper attribution by crediting me and linking to this bundle.
Magos' Model Editor
If a.) the model/s present an error regarding a ribbon emitter upon opening, or b.) the models go blank in-game after editing them in Magos', use MdlxConv to convert the uncorrupted file to MDL, edit the model as you wish, and then convert back to MDX before importing. If c.) the model/s refuse to open in MDL due to particle priority planes; remove those lines using a text editor (search for those keywords) and restore them after making your changes.

In-Game
If models with omnilights light up the whole map after conversion, make sure you're using version 1.04 of MdlxConv.

A beautifully crafted building model with gorgeous particle effects. The animations are very fine and amazing. Great job!

When a model goes beyond 300Kb it must be for a good reason,
Couldn't the clearly superior quality of textures, effects and animations compared to buildings with 300kb be good enough reason?

You can't expect higher quality for the same "price". It doesn't really work like that.
Especially nowadays when map size isn't really a factor.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but it feels quite unfair to downrate a resource of such high quality, which retains the Warcraft visual style, because of (as expected) higher file size (but still lower than imports from Reforged/WoW/Other games).

PS: Well done, Vinz, your work continues to amaze and redefine what is possible in WC3 modeling!

I think the old 8Mb map file size made me pervert to a point of crying when a model it too heavy for what it is. I spend so much time saving every little kb anywhere.
Maybe I am too used to having such HQ models with low weight & in-game textures.
Plus I never touched models so I'm just an grumbling old fart hurr durr

Map size is definitely a factor and always will be, however, i think your point about this being an exceptional model is what @FlameofChange might've missed out on.

Spas and me aren't just favorite picking models we think "look cool" and arbitrarily deciding its worth the size or not, certain set of classic models from good models makers have been on the heavy side, and the good ones when they did this always loaded the models with things that made the size worth it.

This "castle" model is in the same category as Eternities Crown i think, its not just "A" townhall like building, and if mapmakers use it as a common model instead of a very specific decision then yes in those scenarios the model is big but its also partially the mapmakers decision that has to carry more careful consideration.

just wanted to add my thoughts, see you 2 Legends around 🤘

@Vinz Hi this model is amazing, I absolutely love it however, I'm having trouble importing it, I have followed your instructions. It's gotten to the point where in the editor the model appears fine however in-game the texture seems to not be working. I've included Screenshots to show my problem.

Hello. :) Thank you for the compliment.

I tested just now, and it works fine in HD; both in my original test map and a new one with a fresh folder import. It might be some caching issue, but I don't know how to resolve this, unfortunately.
