Has a death animation!
I'm planning on making a shield pack, so I begin here.
v1.2 [20.8.2015] - Added a death animation.
v1.1 [13.6.2015] - Changed the runes texture and removed the green parts of the shield texture.
v1.0 [10.6.2015] - Uploaded

Please do not edit or post any of my models on other sites without my permission! You are however free to resize and rotate the models in order to fit them to your units.

This shield WOULD be nice, however the blurriness of the shield texture clashes too much with the clarity of the runes, making the shield look bad up close. Furthermore, the runes blend in too well with the color of the shield, making them almost invisible from afar. If you fix these parts the shield will be pretty solid, in my opinion.

Actually, the shield isn't supposed to be looked up close, unless in an armor shop or something. In distance the contrast in the texture resolution is not noticed, as you said.
If it's really that important I might search for a lower resolution version of the Circle of Power...
Also, I made the runes with the intention of them blending with the shield, I wanted something not too outstanding, so it won't overshadow the awesome shield texture. If I were to recolor it that effect would be gone.
In all truth though, I placed that rune solely to indicate which side is the front of the shield, and I'm actually quite happy it doesn't stand out that much.

Okay, so. I've updated the shield (you can see in the changelog), and I think I've pretty much fixed those issues.
The new rune texture is not that sharp, so it doesn't look that bad up close.
Also, at first sight those runes might blend more, but they are not affected by neither fog nor shading, so ingame they would stand white, while the shield itself will be shaded by the engine, making them stand out.
Hmm, those green stuffs in the front side area seems to be a little bit of bothery, since the sides are grey and there is nothing that continues it from to the back area of the shield. But I don't think its pretty much of a noticeable thing,
So, well done :) 3/5 for now
