Hello Hive,
with permission from Mapmaker arrr i decided to update his Map Avoj.
Avoj v1.0

I talked about updating maps in this thread:
Melee map suggestions for tournaments and ladders (Spring 2020)

where i mentioned several maps needing a small update on layout, creeps and textures to make them ladder viable. With Avoj i give an example what i mean. This is obviously only my opinion on the matter, other mapmakers could see it entirely different.

Anyways if you compare both maps they seem really different on first sight but i dont think thats the case.
I tried to use as much area as possible reducing the empy water space around the edges. Adjusted creepcamp distance but kept the original placement. I also kept all the neutral building placements and goldmines.
I changed the merc camp with the shop for a while but keeping the shop on the edges creates better gameflow.

I used Sunken ruins tileset since i didnt like the previous mix of textures. I also changed the creeps accordingly.

If you guys have anything too add go ahead. :)

General Info:
Playable Size: 88x88
Players: 1v1
Neutral Buildings: 2 GoblinLabs, 2 Shops, 2 Mercs, 1 Tavern
Goldmine: 2 with 12500 and 2 with 14500
Creepcamps: 6 green, 10 orange, 2 red

Creepinfo:
Green:
  1. lvl5 lvl1permanent
  2. lvl6 lvl1permanent
  3. lvl7 lvl2permanent, lvl 1 powerup
Orange:
  1. lvl11 lvl2permanent, lvl 1 powerup
  2. lvl15 lvl3charged
  3. lvl16 lvl3permanent
  4. lvl17 lvl4charged, lvl 1 powerup
  5. lvl18 lvl4permanent, lvl 2 powerup
Red:
  1. lvl24 lvl5permanent, lvl2powerup

Update: 9.5.2020

- changed the name
- added some trees at the small green crab spot and the red spot
- added critters
- changed lvl 8 tidehunter to lvl 5 and reduced the item drop
- added lvl 5 skeletal grunt and removed lvl 3 grunt and lvl 1 stormreaver
- added aow placing area at the small green murloc spot and the shop
- added several tome drops

I consider this map as finished. It wont get any new Updates.

So... I think the map is an improvement over the first version of Avoj (which nevertheless was also a good map). Visually it also looks good. There are a few details which I'd like you to think about again: 1. No critters yet. 2. Relative few groups...

very good map sand parts could have more work regarding tile-mix, or doodads like remaining scorched, shells, that stuff,
the sand gives a feeling of emptyness (a minor thing)

try to beta test/ improve this map all you can these days (8 may), avog was very good, this one looks very good, so it could be recommended.

So... I think the map is an improvement over the first version of Avoj (which nevertheless was also a good map). Visually it also looks good.

There are a few details which I'd like you to think about again:
1. No critters yet.
2. Relative few groups of trees in the some areas, which could make life tough for the kotg.
3. This also applies to AoW-creeping: Only the high-risk merc camp be taken by an AoW early on.
4. Not enough tomes for my liking.
5. About the itemdrops: The lvl 18 camp at the merc camps drops a lvl 3 item, while the lvl 16 skeleton orc camp drops a lvl 4 item?
6. Maybe place indestructable trees on the cliffs near the main bases instead of the regular trees, just to prevent potential abuse.

I like the idea of the small passages of trees that can be opened, as it is done in such a way that it can be used, but also can be completely ignored. Also, nice selection of creeps.

So as there are no real bugs and the core stuff is well made, map approved. I still would like to see som finetuning though.

Looks good visually like usual.
Layout is fine, but lacks originality.
My only gripe is the center layout.
A big straight wide path to the enemy base just isn't fun.
Personally i would do something different, like adding curves, make tavern more chokey or -1 cliff height to tavern area which is something i haven't seen before.
