Revenge of the King Rhobar Open Role-Playing Game is an 8 player map designed for Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. It consists of a lot of different playable classes, each having up to 10 spells. There are multiple towns filled with quests where you can level up your character, or receive an item reward. This map is highly based on using professions. There's a unique system used for crafting, which adds to the gameplay. The map is newbie friendly, but also challenging after leveling up to the maximum. The project has started on the 6. December 2009, being "Vuto's ORPG" it's first name, due to my very old nickname. Since then, the map has been remade a couple of times, showing a great gap between the versions. Up to 8 players can play the map.

When you select your hero, the first thing to choose from is enhancing your passive spells. For now, you can enhance Evasion, or Critical Strike.

After that is done, you can choose which one of the main attributes (Strength, Agility, or Intelligence) will be further enhanced by 5. This is a minor low level addition.

As mentioned earlier, this map is heavily based on Professions. There are various Professions, usable by everyone, regardless of the Class. Some reward Passive Items, other Active Items.

- Blacksmithing - You can make various armors and weapons here. The crafted Items usually give Strength as main stat, along with offensive or defensive other stats. The core materials of Blacksmithing are Ores, gained by Mining.

- Leatherworking - This Profession allows you to craft items which when held grant Agility bonuses. Along with that, they will also grant bonuses to physical damage. Main material in this Profession is Leather Skins, which are obtained by killing wild animals.

- Tailoring - Tailoring is mostly used for Mages, as the items crafted from it grant Intelligence as main stat. Their other stats include maximum Mana pool, and Mana Regeneration. Wools of all sorts are used for Tailoring, which are gained by killing any enemy unit.

- Alchemy - Allows you to craft Potions. There are 3 types of Potions:
-Potions with Permanent Effects
-Restoration Potions
-Combat Potions

Each Recipe requires a Vial of Water, which can be bought at the nearest Toolmaker.


- Orb Crafting - This Profession allows you to craft offensive items, which on hit grant different effects. Very useful for both PvP and PvE. You can find the materials at their special places.

- Mining - You can acquire multiple stones and ores by Mining. Once you obtain an Ore, you can Smelt it to turn it into Bars. Bars are used for all Blacksmithing Recipes.

Lockpicking

There are various Chests all over the map with valuable loot. To open it, you need a special Lockpick, crafted by using the Blacksmithing. The better the material it's based of, higher the chance to open the Lock.



Revenge of The King Rhobar Open Role-Playing Game is also based on player's Combat Role. Each class has one or more roles they can fit in, and their damage done and damage dealt are based on it.

Great map dude. I've always liked ORPG maps with professions and your profs seems to be integrated beautifully. Being able to ride on top of your mount is sure a plus but is it somehow possible to not carry the mount item and still ride on your mount?

About the mount, when Hero gets the mount item, it will be automatically removed, so there will be no more item in your inventory. If you didn't get any mount item, then you mount, cause you don't have it =P
Btw, do you have garena account?

Yes i do, and it's "DamneDD". Started this game yesterday. My roommate went to sleep so i had to continue solo. At the end i ended up soloing every dungeon but failed to kill Lich King :) I'm playing Blademaster btw. So please call me if u guys end up playing some games. If u don't mind i'm gonna do some constructive criticism.

Since as of now Blademaster is the only hero i played, my oppinions will be based on him. You gave him a lot of active spells but the way you made them you are forcing the player to level up his agility. Since most of them do %agi dmg... The problem is this: At the end when i was level 100 i had pretty much leveled all my stat points into agility with the idea that my spells were gonna do massive dmg, with the exception of leveling 15 or 20 to "Expertise". No matter though i ended up using only 3 skills throughtout the whole game. Illusions, Paralyze and i assume the last one was frenzy kind of spell called madness. Since my melee dmg was higher than the spells... You might wanna buff them :)

So i'm not sure if leveling agi was the rigt choice. Although AS was handy, at the end of the game my armor was not enough since 20 levels of agi gives you 1 armor. Brings me to the point, maybe you should put better armors cause the best one i could find was +30 armor i believe.

This is pretty much all that comes to my mind atm but i'll be sure to update with more suggestions when they come to my mind. One last thing, even though i love what you have done with professions, i think they can be better. I'm not gonna explain how exactly but i'm gonna point you out to one of my favorite RPG's to see for yourself, which btw now sadly is discontinued. "Isle of Despair v1.4"

Also maybe you can advice me on my item build. Dunno might be better. Since i wasn't sure what stacks or not i went with this:

Edit: You can put water into some other places instead of all of them stacked up in one pond, i didn't find water till i was already like level 60 :) Also you may want to make a change with the passive trait icons. As of now you see both crit and evasion in your hero, but since you choose only one at the beggining one of them is available to you. Might confuse some people.

Ok, I will add you as friend on garena if you don't mind. About the spells, my brother was playing druid, and he had perception level 55. So, his 9. spell heals 10x Int, but now cause of perc, it will heal 55x Int, which is HUGE! As you could see, brewing is the most important proffesion, cause my Hero (Slayer) has 1200 str, 800 agi, and 500 int if I am right. Your Hero has 4600 health, so if Lich King hits you with Frost Chaos, you are dead xD. Your build is nice, actually very nice. But, you have only 100 Strenght and Intelligence. Having 2000 Mana is ok, but I don't know how high is your perception. It is logical for someone with 1K agility to solo any dungeon, but I highly doubt it that you killed furbolg. He has 3K Chaos damage and you have 4.6K health, and he also has berserk, so I think that you didn't find him or he is the only 1 you can't kill. Lich King is really strong, and y, I was able to solo him.... with 4000 Agility and 2000 Strenght and 1000 Intelligence using blademaster. Those stats are really big, and I had great items and perception level 30. But, killing him took me some time. I don't know if you allready know about orb making, but it is really good when you have party, so you don't need to tank and have lifesteal. I am really impressed, very few people alone got all 3 quests to gain lifesteal. Gz =D
Armor problem: Y, I could add few more items with like 50+ armor, but then, I think that some classes would be overpowered. Like, Paladin can heal himself, and he has Divine Shield, so, if he has more than 300 armor, he would be invincible. The cooldown of divine shield would gone cause he can heal himself, and he would be able to cast it anytime. I hope that you understand what am I trying to say.
About proffesions, I will add more items with newer versions, cause Blacksmithing is nothing special in the end, and so Mining is not useful either.
Also, I made 7 items for me and my bro, which are kinda, ergh, little stronger than the regular ones xD. They are called like "Spear of The Imba Pro" lolz, we loled when I made it ^^

EDIT: Your buddy list on garena is full, please remove a n00b so I can add you xD. Also, if we will be friends, I would like to know where are you from? Don't forget to read the text before edit too :D

That Imba Pro thing, that was meant to be only for me and my bro. It was able to drop from last boss in 3.1a, and now I fixed it. Me and my bro have the all set of imba pro xD

Ohh i did indeed killed Furbolg, and i did it without my armor item. It was after Furbolg when i tried Lich King that i decided to get my armor item. I don't remember Furbolg doing 3k chaos dmg but he indeed had his berserk but it doesn't last that long and paralyze takes care of him.

I dunno what you ment about perception but if i'm not mistaken it was for Magic DPS heroes. Basically i didn't level my perception, not even 1 level :)

I know about orb making, i saw them once and didn't really think they were worth my time so i didn't bother with them :(

Dunno how mad you guys are to farm 4k str 2k agi etc. But it took me 20 mins only to mount up and go around the map to collect %agi potions till my agility was 1k. It was like 900 before.

Did you check the map that i suggested you to check ? It really can inspire you in a lot of ways.

And also i dunno if where i'm from really matters if we are gonna be friends but heck i'm from Turkey and i went to college in US and i can tell you more about myself only if we are gonna marry at the end :D lol

My f.list was like 130 but i recently did a cleanup and pulled it down to 110 so you should be able to add me without any problems. Though there seems to be a problem with Garena nowadays, so maybe try to change server and add me again.

Any spells that are based on stats (Like I think that paralyze deals xyAgility xD) is also based on perception. It's formula is:
All based damage x 0.1x Level of perception, meaning you must have at least level 10 perception for spells to deal normal damage.
About orb making, as far as I know, Lifesteal + Orb won't work. But for some mages, it's even better to make an orb.
4X agility stats, I get it when the stone of power, potion of agility, and book of knowledge gave 5% of stats not 2%. So kinda, I wasn't really mad about it xD
I will check the map asap =D
God dammit every my fuckin' friend lives in US or Canada and there's 6 hours (depends on where you live exactly) difference between our countries...
Gonna try to add you as buddy again =)

EDIT: I knew that garena has some buggs, but this is crazy. I can't add neither one of you guys =( Anywayz, I am Vunjo on garena, why don't you try to add meh :D

I just tried to add you, dunno if you got the request. Ok so i just played a game with my friend and he got mad and left. Take a guess why? Well, currently there are some bugs in your game and there are some stuff that he didn't like so i'm gonna tell you exactly what he pointed out.

First of all, in the beginning of the game. If you get into the mining circle right away. You become a computer controlled enemy and can't do anything at all. First game two guys got in and were stuck right next to the mining wall. When i came closer they automatically started attacking me. I killed one of them and he didn't respawn :( So we remaked and to see if it was gonna happen again we tried it again to no avail...
I got the screen shot:


3rd remake when we were around lvl10-11 i pressed ESC to see the menu and right after Menu comes up, it went blank and the whole screen froze. I couldn't type anything or press any button. Therefore i couldn't also get save code or tell my friend to save it's game. Only thing that worked was "alt+F4". My friend got mad after this last incident and didn't come to the 4th rmk :)

Lastly here are the stuff he mentioned:

1-) Quest Givers are not allied, so we can't see them and have to go through the fog to find them.

2-) Quest XP's are not automatically shared with everyone. Everyone does their own quests and once someone takes a quest it is not available to the other person. Imagine playing this game with more than 5 people.

3-) [After he repicked his hero when he was around lvl10 and couldn't choose another one] He said if the repick option was only for the first 600 seconds, it should have automatically been disabled by the game after the first 600 seconds, so that this wouldn't happen to anyone else :)


So far this is it. One thing i'm gonna add though. I tried Elementalist this game and saw that my first 3 spells are the "Essence" spells which basically enables you to use that kind of spell. This sounds like an interesting idea, but since i didn't get any actual dmg spell i'm assuming that when you do, if that spell is a fire spell you will have to use fire essence first. There is one big downside to this though, with it's animation and everything, using an essence spell takes about 2 seconds. So if i'm gonna burst dmg creeps with different elemental spells i have to switch between those essence spells when every single one of them adds 2 seconds to already existing spell animations. Repeating this throughout the whole game can be exteremly mundane also.

P.S. I'm thinking of getting a mage/Dps class with high %int dmg dealing spells and giving most of my levels to "perception". Any suggestions?

Edit: Another big bug. I pick "Dark Mage" and go to skeletons area to try out my first spell Deathbolt. First skeleton i use the spell on gets stunned and doesn't come out of it no matter how much i wait or even when i attack him. Then cunning me decides to try it on the LvL1 Lich (mini boss) and guess what? He gets stunned also. Couldn't kill him since his regen was higher than my dmg but if this works on every boss in game, then that's not so good is it :)

Ok I read everything you said. And now to talk about those bugs.
-Mining: Every Player should go 1 by 1 to the mining point, and the same mining point can be used ONLY ONCE!
-Quest Givers-Ally: There are some maps where you can see all of them, but in others you can't. I simply choosed the other way.
-Quest EXP Given: Everybody should get EXP on some quests, but on others, like bring Orb of Power or something similar, only 1 player gets it. Will check all of the quests to see if there is any group quest where not all ppl get exp and will fix it.
-Repick: Will fix it, it's easy and useful so I will fix it in new version ^^
-Elementalist: It is the hardest class at start. In the middle game it ownz, meaning, it is easy to level up later. Maybe I fix something up, so he can be stonger in end game too. It's just the way it is. Elementalist is the best DPS for now.
-Dark Mage's Stun: I will have to fix 1 number in it. That is not completely "my fault", but the World Editor's. If a random spell was made from a spell with stun (Storm Bolt), and if you set the stun duration to 0, that will happen. I will just fix it to 2 or 1 seconds and everything will be fine.
-ESC Bug: That happens, if you hit esc many times, or hit it and then go to a region with a cinematic or go to it before you hit esc.... You can try it in other maps that have very similar ESC system or something, and you will find a bug there too.

Thank you very much for those bugg reports. All of those bugs are easy to deal with, but with mining ingame everybody should be careful, and not just search for bugs or something like it. 1 by 1 to nearby regions. Those points can be used only once.

EDIT: it turns out that garena has more bugs than my map xD. I didn't get the friend request, so sorry, we will have to tell the garena to fix those bugz, and everything should be fine.

I'm playing this map lately. however I cannot find anyone to play this map in garena and I must play in single player mode. It's the best rpg map in hiveworkshop, imo :)) I like its quests, skills, and gameplay.
Could you make a new npc or command or item or something like tome of retraining that enables players to relearn abilities and reuse skill points? I think it's essential and gives the game more fun :D

Hey, im here again :3, to report a bug i found yesterday. I did one dark mage, when i got that skill "Reanimate Dead" i used it in the furbolg dungeon, and when the reanimates died, i got control of the respawned monster, even the boss, and the monsters never respawned again. Fix it pl0x :D

These are nice news :D. Oh btw, i forgot to mention that u can mount and go in other players item area (to where the dungeon items go) and loot everything :eek:. It make the things much easier ._.

Many things that will improve the game play a lot =)
My triggerer is makin' DPS and HPS meters, hoping he will do it, cause it's hard.
Boss Arena, rly hard bosses, with new items

Maybe that's not much, but it will sure improve the gameplay. There are few new things too, fixed bugs, and so. But not so special as this =)

Hi there,

I'm a ORPG Fan and every ORPG that has an interesting HUD and/or more than Str, Agi and Int as Attributes, be sure that I'll Dl it to test.

-The first thing that happened to me when I tried your game, was the camera. It's funny, nice and all but it has problems you can't catch an item close to you if a wall or mountain is at your 5 o'clock, you need to search it in the window with the mouse. The camera invertion don't work so Insert and Delete buttons that rotates the camera a bit don't work.
-> Solution:
Either don't let items spawn close to mountains
or fix the camera in some other position or make an "Smart camera facing" to solve the problem
or unfreeze camera's rotation, it's pointless can't rotate the camera which doesn't chase your hero.

-The second thing is the buggy quest system. When you or any friend completes a quest, it still count as incomplete at the Info menu, which consumes system memory that blows in connection and finally after about 3 ~ 4 hours playing with 6 persons depending on their system, the game will crash because of memory loss.
-> Solution:
Just make completed quests Completed! duh.

-The third thing: Guess? Yeah you guessed. It's your Menu at "ESC".
The menu is there for what? Show the skill level of your character?
I know that making a menu like this to show messages on the screen isn't a easy job to do because of the many you have to type. Yeah I know some of vJASS too.
But the menu at my point of view, is being useless because the only "game function" you do there is to enable/disable music, the professions buttons are only tutorials about each profession, they don't show your related level of each skill and the "stats" button only shows what we already see, the amount of STR, AGI, INT and the 2 other attributes which can be found by opening the "hero train" menu (Red "+") or by pressing "O".
-> Solution:
Make the menu more informative by, instead of simply showing infos about the professions, adding the actual level of each profession, what items can be made (yeah, it's beginning to copy The Black Road ORPG 1.3) and how much leasts to next level.
In the Stats menu show, instead of we already know, the maths of the character, like total reputation, damage of skills (the formula of perception x 0.1...), REAL STR, AGI and INT because when you get those 2% str,int,agi bonuses, if you grab 100, it doesn't raises your attributes, because the stats are "integer" based. Make them "real" or "float".

-Miscellaneuos.
The map is Too damn Easy! You Don't need many skills in it, just a lot of time.
-> Solution:
Make it harder and cut off that EXP Bonus thing. It's for newbies.

I didn't played the map for too long, because it's boring. It doesn't have much action, the creeping areas are not well distributed, the map is still not balanced and it's easy. Easy maps are boring.

Also the best map in hive isn't supported by them, because it was removed due to the lack of interest by the people over the map. The best ORPG game I ever player for Warcraft III is Dark Invasion II. Yes, the mapmaker stopeed the job because no one was playing it for, as them "said", the map was too difficult and incomplete and the hive removed it from the database.

Your map isn't bad but it need a lot of improvements to be considered Excelent or "the best of HiveWorkshop".


Just curiosity, OoLoLz is from the same country as mine and it's Brazil. We are at GMT -3.

-The second thing is the buggy quest system. When you or any friend completes a quest, it still count as incomplete at the Info menu, which consumes system memory that blows in connection and finally after about 3 ~ 4 hours playing with 6 persons depending on their system, the game will crash because of memory loss.
-> Solution:
Just make completed quests Completed! duh.

-The third thing: Guess? Yeah you guessed. It's your Menu at "ESC".
The menu is there for what? Show the skill level of your character?
I know that making a menu like this to show messages on the screen isn't a easy job to do because of the many you have to type. Yeah I know some of vJASS too.
But the menu at my point of view, is being useless because the only "game function" you do there is to enable/disable music, the professions buttons are only tutorials about each profession, they don't show your related level of each skill and the "stats" button only shows what we already see, the amount of STR, AGI, INT and the 2 other attributes which can be found by opening the "hero train" menu (Red "+") or by pressing "O".
-> Solution:
Make the menu more informative by, instead of simply showing infos about the professions, adding the actual level of each profession, what items can be made (yeah, it's beginning to copy The Black Road ORPG 1.3) and how much leasts to next level.
In the Stats menu show, instead of we already know, the maths of the character, like total reputation, damage of skills (the formula of perception x 0.1...), REAL STR, AGI and INT because when you get those 2% str,int,agi bonuses, if you grab 100, it doesn't raises your attributes, because the stats are "integer" based. Make them "real" or "float".

-Miscellaneuos.
The map is Too damn Easy! You Don't need many skills in it, just a lot of time.
-> Solution:
Make it harder and cut off that EXP Bonus thing. It's for newbies.

I didn't played the map for too long, because it's boring. It doesn't have much action, the creeping areas are not well distributed, the map is still not balanced and it's easy. Easy maps are boring.

Also the best map in hive isn't supported by them, because it was removed due to the lack of interest by the people over the map. The best ORPG game I ever player for Warcraft III is Dark Invasion II. Yes, the mapmaker stopeed the job because no one was playing it for, as them "said", the map was too difficult and incomplete and the hive removed it from the database.

Your map isn't bad but it need a lot of improvements to be considered Excelent or "the best of HiveWorkshop".

Ok now, I read everything you said, and it won't be easy to fix everything
Many buggs are fixed in version I am making now, and gameplay is also improved.
Bosses are A LOT harder, and won't be easy to "solo" them (Will give the version to beta testers so they can see if bosses are hard enough)
My friend is making DPS and HPS meters, meaning it will be more fun, and hopefully, I will fix balance
I am making "Boss arena" with hard bosses, new items, and much fun. These bosses have 5 spells, and are not easy to kill.
The map is easy now only because of weak bosses. Almost all other RPGs have much easier gameplay (cause I have many stats, and many proffesions, meaning people have to learn a bit to play the map)

With most of these gameplay updates, it sure will be fun, i guess xD

You should use the "smooth" tool in the terrain editor. It makes me cringe seeing your screenshots.

And if I could make a suggestion, don't import custom models and textures just because you can, and you want to replace blizzard ones. Sometimes simplicity is better - don't sacrifice download speed with ugliness.

That being said, I'm voting for approval on this map.

I can solo EVERYTHING and i dont get a single little dmg on me!

I have 100% armor reduction on my pally (think it was that one?)

litch does like 7 dmg on me... and i have enooormus life and hp reg...

How about... removing the add stats potions?

Makes the game EASY!...

I mean if you play long enough... you basicly end upp soloing the game...

Make it a solo game then or nerf the potions ALOT... :p

100% armor reduction is really impressive, never fought that someone will made it xD
Will try to make X stat the maximum, perhaps, 1500 maximum would be good.

I've seen worse english in other RPGs...
You cannot judge only 2 things. And terrain deffinetly deserves more than 1, and nobody can prove opposite.
