HOW TO PLAY:

At first you have to choose either a male villager or a female villager, which can learn from 16 different classes if you reach level 10 (split in male and female classes). Each class can rank up twice, giving new heroes with better and new abilities.



GENERAL INFORMATION:

-maximum level: 100
-ultimate spell for each class on level 75 (rank 3)
-1 to 6 players
-huge map
-a lot of dungeons
-multiplayer makes it much easier
-save load system
-needs a couple of hours to play through it

UNIQUE STUFF AND FEATURES:

-custom XP gain system
-saving the save code directly in the WC3 file
-a lot of Easter Eggs
-an optional story
-all units, abilities and items are unique and custom
-integrated minigame "Greedisgood"
-each class has got an ultimate spell on rank 3 and level 75
-a lot of different molded quests
-detailed description of every enemy
-automatically saves your hero progress

To make the game balanced, it is allowed to have each class ONCE a match. Therefore I have created a system, which makes it impossible to have twice the same class in one match (even with save-load you are not able to have the same class as another player).

Even when you have a rest from fighting, you can spend your time with funny things, like having a drink at the bar.

You can also gamble if you rushed far enough. There is also a minigame added.

-Fixed that Fallen Paladin and Spectre had their ultimates on level 80 (is 75 now)
-Every player can enable and disable the tips now for themselves (-tipsoff and - tipson)
-Balanced the Demons (last dungeon) a bit
-Made TM16 and Urn of the King stackable in inventory
-Added a description to all boss items while on the ground
-Fixed a bug where stackable items wouldnt stack if picked up from the ground or traded
-Made Full Body Kobold droppable but limited the number a hero can carry to 1

Well after I played it, well I find it a bit dull without other players, the thing is, I found a lot of bugs, espacially with killing the spiders, when I finished killing 100 spiders I got the reward.. but after I finished and I killed any bugs, it keep tells me "I am exhusted, return to the lumberjack" so I have returned to him, and then I got gold and exp for every spider I kill. 3/5 overall!

Really interesting map, which i tried to play just a moment ago, and I mean i really "tried".
After the first class change into a wizard my hero did not respawn properly, so I basically lost a hour of gameplay. Furthermore there are some gramatical mistakes in your "hint/tip"-description. Nevertheless i will take a 2nd or 3rd look at it and give you more feedback. So far so good

hey i experienced what the guy above me said. I ranked up to a wizard and when i died (which was just once) i never came back to life. That was it. Id really appreciate it if you could fix that and I really like those shrine thingys that record you killed enemies, kinda like a pokedex. But anyway gonna expect bug fixes and hopefully you can make it even mroe better :))

Me and my friends tried to play, but after my friend died he never respawned again. So we all saved to see if the problem would fix itself when we loaded the next game... Sadly enough, when we loaded, none of us got our champs. So the save load system might be bugged.

hey me and my little bro played this for a few hrs I was playing as red and the class I had was the harpy scout and after I died my hero did not respawn and I couldn't save cuz of that.

I have two very different opinions about this map.

On the one hand, it gives me the old feeling of playing TEve ORPG, on the other hand the terrain is simply awful. I noticed you tried to create many details and give a nice atmosphere, but the result is not satisfying. Take a look on our tutorials to get some handy tricks about terraining.

Another thing I noticed, the selection circle of the boxes is too big and the tavern's one slightly overlaps with the one from player red's box.

I strongly recommend you to use the Item Clean Up system.

I like your idea of the shrines, being some kind of bestiary and it is great to have so many classes to choose from.

sorry about the terrain but i think it does not really disturb the gameplay, so i think i will just add minor terrain changes if needed.

i thought about improving the item system, but it was not necessary.
if it is requested i can add a item clearence system or sth like that.

if you like the map, commend it and have fun :)

You got me wrong, the item clean up system removes the little yellow sparkles that stay after you buy a quest.

  • 'Get Water' DISBTN is missing, too
  • You can abuse the 'Tide Cellar' quest to get a lot of gold with accepting quest after doing it, going in and out -> reward
  • There is a critical crash if using Guardian's damage ability on the left top corner of the village, at the brood mother, when one wolf quits into fog of war. I had this crash occur twice threefold, every time I tested it.

EDIT2:
  • Creeps get stuck at the cliff western form the Desert Outpost entrance, they can enter the cliff, the player cannot.
  • 'Werewolf' quest is bugged. It is not destroyed after finishing, stacks in the quest log and gives a reward after you kill one wolf. I experienced the same for the 'Kill 10 murlocs'.

i understand what you meant with the item system, but i dont think it is needed. maybe ill integrate it in the game, though.

i will have a look at the other points asap.

Tome items, as you use them for quests, leak. Therefore these little little sparkles will cause, no, they are going to cause lag. You want a leakless map, don't you ?
Considering that you protected your map and we cannot enter your triggers which have surely leaks, too, I highly recommend you to install this system.
This system fixes the issue and if you already took a look on it, it is very easy to install it.

My friend and I were playing this map yesterday and encountered a couple problems.
1) Friend was playing the ghost, and when going up to spirit instead of becoming a SPIRIT they became the ranked up version of peasant (whose name escapes me).
2) We also checked to see if we could actually save and load and we wouldn't. On top of that just saying "-load" before you choose a character gives you 5 food preventing you FROM choosing a character... My friend talked to a mapmaker he knows and apparently the cache system only works in single player, if this is actually relevant?

hi, are you sure you played the latest version, because the save load system is fixed in v.1.2 and the "food bug" does not appear in this version. I will have a look at the spirit problem, the tests i made worked with the cache in this version.

i will update this map in about a week i think

Maybe the map that's currently on the Hive isn't the right one because the one I have downloaded right now and the one I just downloaded to check are the same map, it looks like?

Edit: No never mind, because now that I think about it the change log in the quests for the game is up to date I believe... Are you sure you properly fixed the problems, then?

if you want to test the map with me via battle.net just text me here. I tested the save load system and the food bug and both worked fine when i tried. If bugs happen i will fix them of course :)

Wow, its been a while since I have seen the usage of game caches. Yeah they don't work well, especially in multiplayer. Your map also loads terribly slow in both loading screen and even selecting map. You know how to leak fix I hope?

Oh, and your save/load system doesn't work at all unless in the same game. Even with local files enabled. Though honestly people need to get something going like a petition to get Blizzard to have them enabled by default, though there is quite a bit still able to be abused. So likely they'll never enable it since they don't know how to stop it. Maybe put up some kind of warning before joining anything on B.net so Blizzard can't get sued.

I tested the game, I had a hard time dealing with all the quests I have made. I mean a level 1 quest by killing 1 out of 100 creeps is just too much, try to lower it a bit maybe just 20/20, then give it some other side quests such as get item of x/x or kill higher level of that similar creep.

When quests are completed, give it a nice finish of letting the player know that quest is complete such as pointing on the quest menu that the quest is finish/completed, so that when I want to retry that quest it will override the complete part and start again.

Another is that there is too much sound set going on the map, there is still mortar team rocket sound that keeps looping, I suggest you remove it to lessen the map load.

The map needs more items as to what I can observe so far, some must be cheap and worthy ones, while others are briefly strong yet expensive.

The class picking region is a bit huge, and the part is that when I pick a huntsman I end up killing nearby creeps on that region, how about just put all hero classes on that region where no creeps are near? or just make a tavern.

Overall, I guess these are just most of the stuff that needs fixing, other than that, can be approved.

thank you for your commend,

-to the point with the quests, there is the kill 100 spiders quests as a kind of side quest. the real quest is to kill 5 spiders and killing the 100 is just a kind of "bonus". (helps you lvl up very easy if you save the reward after picking a class), so this is on purpose.

-i will have a look at the value/cost of items as you said

-i will fix that you can attack creeps from the class region

-you really confused me because i never used a mortar sound in this map, but i will check the triggers, thanks for the info :)

-you have a big choice of items, with entering new regions and you can upgrade some

-when fulfilling a quest, you get a message, so you know where to go to get the reward for this quest, so you really know you completed it. additionally a sound comes and the quest button flashes with every quest you fulfil.

-there are different quests you can accept at lvl 1, which are basically simple to fulfil, such as going to the well and filling up the bottle. you dont even have to fight for this quest and it gives nice XP, or killing 1 big spider or 5 little ones ...

if the save load system (still) doesnt work in battle.net, you are allowed to make a save load system for my map, so it works fine.
in every test i made via local connection the save load system worked well, no matter if single player, multiplayer, in this game or the next one. maybe it is really a problem with the battle.net ...

im not able to make the map loading faster if you mean this by leak fixing. if you have tips or can edit my map so it is loading faster, it would be nice :)

@orcnet, yeah i have fixed kind of everything you said and what i noticed. There is only a save load system for single player mode (so you dont have to save it via options, reducing leaks) as the changelog says, so dont consider this as a bug. maybe a save load system for multiplayer will follow.

@mr.pockets, please tell me how i can hide the changelog and i will do so

Your quest special effects still leak, don't they. I already told you twice how you can fix them.

To add hidden tags, add [hidden=Changelog] in front of your changelog list and [/hidden] behind it , as WhiteFang shows.

Forgot the quest effects, my fault. But there is no noticable leak when i played this game.. Have you voted 2\5 just cause of leak and maybe no mp saveload system? Its more about the gameplay itself in my opinion, if you want to test the whole game, i would play it with you :)
Because its always the same, people test like 2% of a map, finding a minor bug or sth they dont like, leaving the game and giving a bad vote, thats not what im mapping for...

Yes, I know what is your thought about my vote and I know it is a harsh one.
I could fill this page with an argumentation why a 2/5 and not a 3/5 and so on.

As the only active map reviewer and having played over thousand of Warcraft maps, I did not played yours for 2% content, but I made sure to played it far enough to be able to make myself an appropriate decision.
Also note, I usually do not vote on resources, but I did for yours, as I would like you to become open to suggestions and feedback, as it seemed in the past you kind of ignore it.

Well, let my defend my rating.
I don't voted for it this way because of the quest effect leak, though you don't notice the lag early, but if you have played maps like X Hero Siege and Custom Hero Survival you will note that after some time, lag builds up, caused by the many little yellow quest sparks.
I myself don't care about a mp saveload system, to be honest. It is easy to add one and it is nothing I would complain about.

The reason why your map is a 2/5 for me is simple, but difficult at the same time.
I know, being a map creator myself, that you are probably very proud of your map creation, as you have spent a lot of time on it and you thought about the features and the overall design.
The big problem with Warcraft modding is, for you your map looks great, but for me, it looks not.
Why ? I have seen maps with outstanding terrain, incredible gameplay and I spent hours, no, days playing them. What make your RPG unique ? I see a lot of references and similarities to TEve RPG.
Doesn't bother me that much, as it is nice to play alternate versions of known mechanics, but your map is restricted in many ways.
I added some pictures in a post, showing some points your map is weak at.
Orcnet pointed some out, too. Just be honest, your map does not offer many items. Quantity ? Maybe. But the items basically only give you basic stats. Players can hardly afford them and if they can, the bonus is not outstanding or special, giving only a minor bonus. Items should allow players to design their hero and the role he plays. Some items make your hero more tanky, some allow to focus more on spell-casting and so on.
You are not too experienced with Warcraft modding and map creation, therefore I don't expect your map to be perfect, but you should be ready to continue your great work on it. Listen to users giving feedback, you will be surprised about the quality of the feedback some users can give.

I will change my rating to 3/5 once you fixed the building up quest special effect lag/leak and the map is approved, since I enjoyed playing the map for some time.
I hope you do plan to extend your map and add new features, as well as listening to comments and suggestions users made in the past and will make in the future.

thank you for your honest reply, it gives me a better feeling than your vote, because TEve RPG is the one in warcraft i like most and the one which has been the "idol" for my map. in my opinion the items are enough, based on the fact you can upgrade them with playing further. you can also unlock new items after the first time you played through this game, but ofc most players dont notice this, though it is written in the "quests" ...
im going to add some new things to this rpg, such as a working mp sl system in the future if i find mappers helping me with this.

but you are right in the point with the items in that way, that just a few, like 10, items have a very unique effect/bonus. the point on my map is, the further you play the more content you can unlock.

and if you ever play through it, you will notice a lot of unique things in my rpg and i hope you will enjoy them ;)

ive been working a lot with easter eggs in this map, too :p

Can't quest

From what others have posted, quests used to work. In this new version 1.3 though, I can't accept quests. At all. I click on them and nothing happens. I thought maybe they just don't give prompts and actually do get accepted, but nope; I tried doing some like going to the well and killing a Giant Spider but nothing happens when I return to the questgiver. Since you've put emphasis on questing for gold, pure creep grinding is way too tedious and boring. Apart from that, it just doesn't feel nice to be missing out on such a big part of the map. Until the quests are fixed, I won't be playing more.

Im very sorry for that bug with the quests. It must have happened with the last update. I will fix that bug asap and i just sent this map to another mapmaker to create a working mp sl system. I will upload the new map as soon as i get it back :)

This map has been approved and has been updated to v.1.4 with the quest bug fixed and a multiplayer save load system :)

Hello, i like the game bit i'm having problems first taking quest from the quest givers i just click on the quest icon and nothing happen, i tried taken them in single and multiplayer and nothing. Second with the option save/load, nothing happen when i put load except that problema with the food. Any idea with At least the first thing?

How long till new ver?

Ive been trying this out for the last few days here and there. I cant really share my honest opinion until you have a Complete working version of this map. Any idea how long we will have to wait until you get that map back with the new save/load system and working quests?
