Return to the Dark Portal v.5a

Prevent the Orcs from getting through the portal.

Features:

- 1-Player TD Map
- 4 Difficulty levels
- 12 Rounds, each with:
- 2-3 normal unit waves.
- 1 Boss wave.
- 1 Bonus round

Towers:
- 13 different towers with specific attributes and abilities:
- Towers: 4 Basic, 4 Advanced, 1 Long-range, 1 Support, 3 Chaos.
- Attributes/Abilities: Normal (faster attack rate), Fire (splash damage), Ice (slow/freeze effect), Poison (poison effect), Lightning (long-range), Chaos (huge damage)

Upgrades:
- Tower upgrades: Each tower can be upgraded individually, increasing their attack power and abilities (2-4 levels depending on type of tower).
- General upgrades: Upgrades that affect all built and to-be-built towers (8 levels):
- HP upgrade: The towers in this TD will take damage from the enemy.
- Attack rate upgrade: Increase the attack rate of all towers.
- Damage rate upgrade: Increase the damage rate of all towers.
- Attack range upgrade: Increase the range of all towers.
- some more upgrades...

Resources:
- Gold is used to build towers and upgrade them to the next level.
- Lumber is used for all General upgrades. Building advanced and chaos towers require some lumber as well.
- Enemy kills grant additional gold (the amount depending on enemy level). Boss kills rewards more gold.
- Wisp kills (bonus round) grant additional lumber each.
- Some gold and lumber are generated over time throughout the game.

Other units:
- Builders: Build towers. They can also repair towers- but very slowly.
- Mechanics: Repair towers. Efficiently repairs towers.
- Both units do not attack but have upgrades of their own which enhance their support ability.

There are difficulty settings in the map.
Difficulty settings make it easier for new people to play the game from the beginning and later on when they become more experienced they may change the difficulty to medium or Hard.
Note! The difficulty is chosen when the game has begun.

Bug Found!
I found a bug,Why would Towers need hit points if you build them on cliffs where no enemy may attack it,And the enemies have no attack!Why would hit points for towers be useful?

I think that you could add something more in the loading Screen than how to contact you and where to find information about the map.It'd be better if it would be possible to read while the map is loading so that they'll learn something about the map before reading in F11

It's hard moderating Tower Defence Maps because sometimes I'm not able to win them & therefore can't play it to the end.If anyone finds a bug that ruins the game play then please send me a mail so that I can re-moderate the map.And don't forget to tell the mapmaker aswell so that he can fix the problem.

Thanks for the thorough review Firelord. It's difficult to review TD's I agree.
And yeah, I-need is right, the later-wave enemies actually attack and do damage.
I opted not to give the enemies on the first few waves the ability to attack so the player do not need to worry about upgrading tower HP's early on.

Here're some tips on the final bosses:
- The sky-fury tower's thunderstorm ability is most effective against those tough orc bombers.
- Build several chaos-type towers near the portal entrance before the final stage (the final boss will stop there and drain all the portal energy that is left). Towers far from that area will be useless because Thrall will just pass by them very quickly, so it is better to sell them (if there're any left that is).
- Invest on the force shield ability."

Very nice map! I enjoyed playing it! It's also very expansive with all the different upgrades. ^^
