I found that both Windows 10 and Windows 7 would immediately delete this tool after download, telling me that it was a virus. There are some programs, such as the Jass NewGen Pack, which need to execute binary modifications of other programs (i.e. the World Editor) and trip the safety on virus protections for legitimate reasons.

However, I did not exactly understand why this tool tripped the safety and was deleted by Microsoft. Please add some extra information for users like me who are using Windows 10 or Windows 7 with Windows Defender that explains why Windows Defender does not allow us to download this tool, if possible, and hopefully clarifying why the tool is alerting if you know anything about it.

Other than that, I tested the tool inside of the safety of a virtual machine and found that in some cases it does appear to be able to merge models. However, some of the features do not work or require some special knowledge about the tool. When I tried to transfer the model skeleton, I received this warning:

When I do not transfer the skeleton, the merged model lost the proper linking between its Matrix chunks and the Bones, and so the model would "attach" to other models or to the (0,0) location because it was reading garbage data for where to display at.

The following is a single model file (the hero was imported to the building in this way, but had an invalid reference for the skeleton and so it displayed outside of the model):

NOTE: I did not have a Warcraft III installation inside of the Virtual Machine that I used to test this tool, and so I used the RenSen Fusion mdx tool on two models from the Hive Workshop from the top of the model download list as a quick way to test the tool. In general, when modifying a model resource you should only actually modify models for which the authors give permission for doing so, and therefore only in accordance with site rules, etc. I did not have permission from the authors to merge the two models that I tested this with because this was meant only for testing, and as a result, the merged output model will never be published.

I am tagging this as awaiting update in the hopes that you can provide more clarity on how to use this tool, why I would use it instead of Retera Model Studio's "Import" function or Oinkerwinkle's Geoset Merger, and why the tool is considered by Microsoft to be a virus.
