Map Info

Epic cinematic which shows who should be really appreciated as a hero. Not some Paladins or Archmages. True heroes are those footmans or knights who save dozens of people, while being forgotten by the rest of humanity.

Features

- 2 minutes of really good cinematic. Have fun :)

There propably can be found some grammar mistakes. Please let me know if you will find any.
Also I'm still learning to trigger, so feel free to take a look at them. I will appreciate some feedback.

This cinematic is pretty short but it involves the watcher, something I've never seen in other cinematics. Anyway, here are the bad points:-

BAD POINTS:-
- As you suspected, there are grammar mistakes. For example, "taught" should be "thought". "Lifes" should be "Lives"
- It was sad not to find a fog. A grey fog would have had a great effect
- It was too pathetic to see the 6 humans battling the undead and dying without killing any undead. Those are not really heroic for me
- The part where the humans face the orcs looks very empty and I didn't like the use of the tiles. For a battlefield, I expected some more Dirt And Rought Dirt. Even some environmental doodads wouldn't have ruined the scene. The part of the 3 captains and footmen looks very unnatural, with pointed hills like pyramids. It also lacks of doodads. I don't get why decorating so well the graveyard but leaving the rest undecorated. By the way, I didn't like that large Scout Tower, I would have preferred a large Granary instead
- I've watched the cinematic twice. The first time the Hero camera pointed the footman correctly. But the second time, the footman attacked an orc (which I couldn't see) and he died. That must be avoided
- The cinematic is far too short. Less than 2 minutes if I counted well. If a cinematic is to have success nowadays, it should be about 5 minutes long otherwise the cinematic ends when the watcher expects the best

SUGGESTIONS:-
- Fix the grammar mistakes as I said above
- Apply a grey fog (or any suitable colour) from Scenario ---> Map Options ---> Use Terrain Fog
- Let the 6 humans kill some undead before dying
- Smooth the hills on which those 6 humans stand to give it a more natural look
- More doodads in the parts I described as "empty" or "lacking of doodads"
- Give the footman in "Hero" camera to Neutral Passive but without changing colour and make it invulnerable to avoid him to attack someone or be attacked
- Try to make the cinematic longer to make it greater

OVERALL RESULT:-
To finish my review, I'd say the cinematic is good as long as it lasted and also interesting. However, it needs to be longer to have success, not so short. For now, 2.5/5, rating 2 and AWAITING UPDATE!

Would be cool at the end of a long game or something. As of right now, it needs to be longer and like, say more. Why do I care if i'm remembered? What can I do. As like a short movie (how im viewing it) it should mean something. not just peep die and are forgotten and that I must try not to be forgotten for some reason. Also maybe call it Remember The Forgotten instead.

Putting aside the grammar mistakes, everyone has them and they are easy fixed, the cinematic is a bit plain, its good but its not really showing enough. As WendigoWars said it , it is nice for a game ending or campaign ending, but for a cinematic its just too short and to generic.
What you could do to increase it is add like a peasant standing in front of the house with a paladin , than entering his house and out comes a footman followed by his wife and kids, the wife cries as the footman follows the paladin , than the black screen, and when it fades we see the footman in line alongside other footman, knights etc on a battle ground while a bigger army of the undead charges at them .
That would be my suggestion, all in all I think you did ok with the camera view, you should work a bit more on the terrain and environment and you should be fine. The story should be longer or this will be considered an ending cinematic for a campaign.

Okay I've watched it and I have to say I liked it. I have aways thought About how hundreds of soldiers died and nobody gives a damn.but I also think those humans should kill a few undead. Its short but good. Ill give it 3/5.

Well the cinematic isnt that bad,i mean its really poorly made and really short (srsly i cant believe thats 2 mins o_O)but the idea is somewhat original.

Dude here are some tips how to upgrade your cinematic
-First of all dont use Cliffs for making hills, mountains and such it looks ugly when its about cinematic
-Then theres a problem with the terrain its just "empty" no doodats in the human-orc battlefield and you can clearly see the end of the map bounds
-After that comes the old boring models of trees srsly you have like superb models of trees, dead trees, on hive why not just use them to make it better.
-Suggest to make the battlefields more interesting like more units, longer battle you could add some SFX to that matter
Dude listen i could do a remake for u and send it to ur mail box on hive how should it look all,i love to help so pm me if your interested.
Oh and i forgot to mention instead of cliffs as mountains just use "Raise" and "Lower"
and "Smooth" is really helpfull,gl in future man :)

Seen it. Not bad, pretty nice map if you'd ask me. I'd like to give it a 3.5/5.

- I'd have to agree with NourmeusXL , try using elevations instead of cliffs when making your hills/mountains.

- I'd like to share some tricks where you use doodads with 0 collision/or customize them so that you won't have problems with spacing/bumping units.

- Old models for trees (for me) = are okay, I don't really have problems with them. I personally think they aren't that much overshadowed by custom trees if you know how to use them properly. If you're not fond of using custom models for trees, i suggest editing them in the object editor (particularly their size and collision). In other words, make the trees bigger in the object editor, and give them 0 collision in pathing. Giving trees 0 collision is an awesome way to make eye candy for forests.
