About the time stopper - I think you need to right click on allied players.

I think that the skeleton challenge where you need to kill all the skeletons to win is the hardest and needs to be balanced.

I really love this map as well.though I have to admit that this version is fully no more than a fake.
I'm a map creator and I know sth. about a WC3 map.The map is decoded by someone who just added the version number and then public the map.
As far as I have tested,the hacker did no changes at all except adding some "-Good Luck -from jiehuei xP" in the first 9 games(due to the file order)
Who on earth needs that "Good Luck",Ha?
I'm just so sorry for that....
Perhaps v1.39 might be the original version(latest).I just wish it won't be the last......'cause I still love the game,whoever the author is.(many many PLUS many bugs were found in the games added by Raffles though)

First, use edit button. Second, this version is pre 1.21 changes on editor, so it is impossible to play really. And the author is gone long time, so he won't be making a update. Unless someone else post a new version...

Someone should contact a moderator and see if there could be an exception to the rules, and upload this new version even though it is not "original". After all, the situation demands it... This map is really great, and I miss playing it.

i understand why hive wont let an probably (hacked) version into the database. Newer versions are never acceptables unless theyve got Access/permission from the Original Author too edit & make newer & better versions of his/her map(s).. & i know the original author of the Pym maps hasnt been on for Years now, so its kind off impossible to get permission i know.. but thats life ye?

And that's why they should make an exception. We have absolutely no way of contacting the original author, and everybody knows this game and propably like playing it. Well...

(Maybe it should be you, I do not have the newest, working version.)

Edit: Maybe we could contact Rui himself. He should understand our appeal!

That depends. One case is someone really stealing and telling everyone "Ah, this is my map." Other, totally different case, is a fan of a map, that for many reasons, is unplayable, and the author did not resolve its problems, again, for a ton of reasons. Bugs that did not get fixed, imbalanced things, or as the case is, really unhostable thus unplayable because of the upgrade; in either case, said fan wanted to play a good version of the map. So, he does not have no choice.

You may say that both cases are equal, as both could involve a fan wanting to improve a map he likes. The difference that tells them apart, is that in the first case, the author is PRESENT and still able to upgrade the maps, and such, fix or add any features that the fan could just ask (although the author may not want to, and then the fan just steal it.), while in the second case the author is UNAVAILABLE to add or fix anything, thus forcing a good-willing fan to continue his work for the greater good.

Did that make it clear?

Pyramid Escape v3.2

No more worrying about non-functioning Pyramid Escapes anymore. Version 3.2 has arrived!

hmmmm this version MUST require many players -,- and thats bad , on old versions its playable from 2 players and more
This version scales in difficulty unlike previous versions. Some require two or more (such as Magic Defense), but it is meant to be a multiplayer game. Solo is possible, though extremely hard.

About the time stopper - I think you need to right click on allied players.

There is no more Time Stopper, as that challenge was just too ridiculous.

The Skeleton’s Curse is possible, it just requires a lot of coordination.

Is this the last version?

Because sometimes the tower defence doesn't start and the chief doesn't appear in the chief defense. Fix that please...

Yeah, the “Good luck from you know who” messages were pointless. You can tell the fakes because they are completely unbalanced.

1.20 was the last official version before I left. Raffles took it over from 1.18 which left out two challenges and still had the original upkeep bar.

I don't think there is much he can do. It's protected.

Finally, after how many years of having broken (like v1.42 on this site) and unbalanced Pyramid Escapes floating around, we get a well-made version. Definately woe to Raffles, as you've taken his ideas and turned them from terrible into something good. I'm glad Friendly came back to show us how to make them.

I know this version has been on EpicWar for several months now, but it's nice to see it on Hive so the modding community can give some good feedback. Maybe Pyramid Escape won't die like I thought it had.

There has only been one bug that I've found that I can't seem to replicate. When starting The Storm after another challenge, it will sometimes auto-complete (creating a portal) yet still release Scarabs to try to kill you.

Thank you all for your support.

I left WC3 years ago and came back recently just to see how things have progressed. Unfortunately, B.net is overrun with bots and most Pyramid Escape maps don’t even work. The few that do work (1.24 & earlier and Rebirth) are…lacking to say the least.

While I wouldn’t normally be bothered by the fact that someone continued my work, I was less than pleased that they didn’t even use my most recent version, which eliminated two challenges entirely (Spider’s Nest and the Storm, although “Spiderlings” was added back in Rebirth). This persuaded me to not only better recreate some of these challenges, but add new challenges to top the previous max of 30 in other versions.


I started by finishing off a half-done challenge called the Guantlet. Although an original creation of my own, I liken it slightly to the “Chief’s Showdown.” Very slightly.

Next I Pyramidized the “Core Avoidance” into the Lost Souls. These are practically the same, but I made Souls from scratch. Only the idea was used.

Bridge of Frost was a new take on Bridge of Flame. The Overgrowth was just a wild idea taken from an Arthas mission of RoC. And Ancient Relic was roughly inspired by original Donkey Kong.

Next was my favorite, Mystic Runes which was inspired by Guitar Hero. Tower Walkway was my reverse of Tower Defense, you having to make it by the towers (although it was slightly inspired by “Tower Trap”).

Finally, the last three appeared in this version. Portal Runner was based heavily on “Racing,” but my own take (and triggers) on it. Ghost Hunter was based on “Ninja,” but again with a Pyramid-theme (what’s a ninja doing in a pyramid, really?). Hero Defense is of course based on “Protector” with my touches to it.


I was satisfied with how they turned out and posted it on Epic War, but wanted to bring it here too. Hopefully, it will spawn many more Escapes to come…

Version 3.3 is now out! Although I thought v3.2 would be my last, I decided to add one more challenge that I was already half done working on.

The Shifting Chamber is an easy elevator mini-game based on Arthas' TFT stroll through Azjol'Nerub.

sir Friendly Warlord are you still going to continue this map?
As you can see, I only work on it [very] sporadically. It's been almost a year since the last version and this only added in one new challenge.

I've mostly stopped working on it. I encourage anyone to keep it going if they want. I may release more, but any updates will be few and far between. I hope someone will have added more [good] challenges in the meantime...that might even become "official" in the future.

The minigame where you have to revive spiders seems to be bugged... nothing happened after we were released. (Corpses spawned, we reanimated them, but no enemies etc)

And in the 'protect the captain' game the names of the units are mixed up, and it is way too easy...

In the room with the colored runes you should switch their color every few seconds to make it harder. (And, if this isnt the case already, adjust the number of runes to the number of players. (players +1 or so)

In the room with the 'ice flame strikes' you can get attacked by a building from another room when you go to the right wall.

In the room with the fire traps collision should be turned off.. make it harder but without collision pls >.>

Not sure what you mean here. The only challenge remotely like a "Protect the Captain" mini-game is The Guantlet. And in that, no unit names are messed up. There are only the Captains (the players), the Light Warrior, the Rotting Mummies, and the Wailing Spirit (Guantlet Portal Gaurdian).

While that would be interesting...it would be too annoying if you're going for one color only to have it random switch across the room, costing you a hit when you touch the wrong switch and a hit when the enemy now has time to reach the generator.

I'll liken it to the fact that the buttons don't randomly change on your guitar when you're playing Guitar Hero.

The difficulty is the fact that only two people can safely stand together. While I could turn collision off, that would defeat the purpose. The problem with random-based games is that making it "harder" can't always work like people think it should and that its difficulty is subjective.

Nobody said random. It could rotate in a fix order or you just make it more complex by releasing more than one unit at a time, overlapping them, always the first one being target for the switch.

In general, the map is too easy and some things too random/not enough player interactivity.

V3.3b update so fast Y+Y

Had to do with bugs...spiders not spawning (Spider's Nest), orbs not spawning (Magic Defense), and being attacked through the wall (Ice Core).

Addendum:
I once again apologize for the need to download yet a fourth update with 3.3d, but I had to fix an error where victory in the Ice Core was despawning units in the Bridge of Frost. This should be the last 3.3 version barring any more major gamebreaking flaws.
