PygmyVillager.blp

Hi, this is my first skin for w3. It is a small pygmy shaman from the jungle, I hope it will be useful to someone. It is 100% my own work (no CnP or googled textures, nor special brushes of any kind). I think that there aren't so many skins for this particular unit so it may be a nice move to create some :) Any hints and advices will be highly appropriate. If something in my English is wrong - please tell me, I'm still learning.

Updates: v1.4 - less muscle-packed, no "ribcage-sixpack", better back, added grass collar around the neck, few little tweaks, fixed yellow spots on the fists, more defined face and body lines, smoother face, improved grass collar, slightly retouched hairs.

Oh, I understand...
You see, the problem is that this little guy is almost completely naked. Without anything on the back and torso he will looks plain and empty - it will be just a brown area without anything eyecathing. Imo it will be too simple that way. I decided to give him some muscles to not make the body more interesting and defined. I can make it less muscled if you think he will look better that way, tut I am not sure about the result:/ I'll try and then decide... Give me about one hour and the new version will be submitted...

The face..? Uh, I was quite proud of it :/ So what should be corrected in your opinion?
(I already fix the "ribcage-sixpac effect" and almost done the back right, so before I upload the upgraded version, I may correct few things more:)

Dang, I just make body less glossy because people sayes it looks like an athlete or something - _ -"
Creating skins isn't the easiest job in the world, I must say...
I try to add more higlights on the face, but with my current skills it will be quite difficult:/

The trouble is that this whole thing is really dark - and "really dark" parts are "in fact just a little bit darker corners of the overally dark thing". And they just blend together:/
But I'm not the guy that surrends easily (Tauren Chieftains face) If it is possible - it will be done. Thank you for the advice, I'm gonna start work immediately:)

You know, standards here are quite high, imo - many amazingly talented people submits here a true pieces of art (not only skins, but also marvelous models and a lot of other cool stuff)... It is an honor for me that the first two textures I've ever done has been approved and can be seen among the truly great work of other artists
I also think it's great that the community here has so much patience and is good advice for novice artists like me. I hope I can get the time to develop my skills enough to catch up with the local masters someday :)
For now, think about expanding the concept of "pygmies" - I would like to create for them a couple of buildings and a few more "combat" units. All of these new creations will also need icons... It seems to me that it might be an interesting idea for a small campaign sometime in the future :]

I agree. Unfortunately, I have very little idea about how to create and edit models:/
But it needs only "attack" and "spell" (for the shaman) animations - so maby someone here will find some time to do this, if asked nicely;)

EDIT:
Theres quite a few units in w3 that lacks of the animations such an "attack", "spell", "spell-throw", "channel spell" and so on... It could be a great, very usefull resource if someone submit a pack of sucha base models with added animations... Just saying.

Side of the legs are wrapped really wired but that's the model's fault. Overall very nice, would not know that that was the villager kid.
